proof that the SS has a faster 1/4 time than the new 5.0, in a real world setting. Can be provided

EDIT:
ok, so the 5.0 has a stock 1/4 time of 12.73 http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Mustang-T ... 21072.html and the SS Camaro 12.61 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBpve1Enha8
a tenth of a second is all about the driver and tires.

that can easily be flipped around on clean shifts and a quick RT not to mention variations in the track.

 You're really that retarded?

EDIT: I just noticed that you're a 23 year old WRX driver :wtf2: so we're dealing with someone who obviously looks at numbers opposed to history and style. Put a '68 or '69 with the ZL1 or any Vette with an LT-1 up against any of your amazing cars.

WRX wagon owner that is. We're not the typical WRX owner. I think it's the lack of fender flares.

And I wasn't talking about '68 or '69 models, or the LT-1, 4, or the LS1, 2,3,7 etc. I was talking about the emissions strangled years, peaking with the terrible "Crossfire" fuelies of the 80s.

Oh, and history and style? Maybe if I was a blind guppy the later C3s would have "style," but nope, 20/20. So if they're not fast, and not good looking, why own an 80s C3? Well, I guess you can call yourself a Corvette owner...

Must be like owning an AMC Harley!

AFAIK the only year they did a crossfire was '82. I guess you're right, absolutely no history and style in this POS. I didn't react in haste, it was perfectly warranted.

Dammit ladies, 1984 was the ONLY year of the horrid Crossfire system on the Vette.

Just because Charlieo doesn't like later C3's doesn't mean a damn thing, other than he doesn't like them and no one here gives a rat's a** anyway.

As far as other Vette owners go, when I drive mine I get waves from guys driving ALL generations and I wave back. Everyone I have talked to has been cool and gracious, not to say that there aren't douchebag owners, but that can be said for any make/model. I washed mine last night and got props from a couple 12 year old kids riding their bikes and I get the same thing from 60 year old guys when I pull into parking lots. A gorgeous car is a gorgeous car, period.

Jesus. It's even worse from that angle. It looks like if the 80's put wheels on a plastic hawk.

I dunno Stud, some of those men might have been interested more in you than the Vette... :naughty:

Actually. I hang with some Vette owners, both at the track and local car shows. Very friendly group of people overall. I have also thought about a vette for my next track toy (C5 Z06).

I won't lie, the C3 with the small back window is my favorite Vette. Haters can suck it.

I'll take mine with a 427 and a 4 speed thank you.

give me this, ridiculous stripes and all please.

I think that's a '68. My dad used to have one and he told me that he had to put lead weights in the back to keep the tires on the ground. Amazing ride fo sho.

Probably (IMO) the beginning of the ugliest Corvettes ever, the C4's. Having the last of the C3's probably doesn't help with being biased.

^ THIS.

BTW, I drove a '90 (?) ZR-1 from Phx to SLC in 1993 for a buddy of mine. Fast, sure. But what a POS. Sure, it's a collector's item now, but damn.

I don't consider them collector's items at all. I'll take slow and stylish over fast and hideous any day. Now that I think about it, I get waves from every generation except the C4's.

The "Corvette Wave" is actually pretty universal. Kind of a cool camaraderie exists amongst Vette owners - I've gotten "the wave" from almost every other owner I see on the road.

Isn't it more of a repetitive bob? A bob that coincides with balls flapping on the chin?
