OK, back to importing japanese engines.....

The Japanese emmisions stardards are stricter than ours, or is it just more expensive to test and so on? Reason I ask is, if their emmisions are stricter than our (in terms of carbon limits ect.) than why can't their engines (ex. SR) come stock with our rides? I heard people saying the Skyline never came over because of emmision concerns, and the guys that are selling them now had to do the emmisions and crash testing themselves, right?

Like i said, I'm a little confused over this whole emmisions/ importing engines idea. I know alot of honda guys in my area swapping in Japanese motors into their cars, and they don't complain about emmisions, and since their motor is offered in N.america, don't think the pigs would be on to them anyway. If you have any insight on this subject, and care to share, it would be much appreciated.

thanks

PauL
