Eh, most Wii owners aren't huge FPS players to begin with, although I'll give you that Bioshock isn't a conventional FPS, per se.

Most Wii owners who really want to play a lot of FPS will buy either a PS3, a 360, or both, to sit alongside their Wii.

Fundamentally you buy a Wii to play first-party Nintendo titles on, period. Anything and everything else is gravy. Mario Galaxy alone is well worth the $300 cost of the game and the console, IMO.

I highly doubt it is new. I sent mine in and I got a refurbished one. That is probably what they did with yours too. They just take the old bad systems and fixed them with the required parts.

Which version did you have? if it was preimum does it have the new HDMI port that is shipping with all new premium version???

HDMI does not come on preminum models they only come on elites.

That is not what I meant per say. What I meant was that they fix a 360 that they already had and just switch it out with the one that you have. Then they take yours and fix yours and give it to someone else. You get what I am trying to say?

Yes, I understand that part. My response simply puts that under the banner of repairs. However, I have heard several cases that indicate that they may be mixing some new units in there. I also have to wonder if they are also repairing the unit and sending the same unit back to the original owner as the program you speak of had much faster turn around than we are seeing now...

I find myself wanting a PS3, but I have absolutely no idea why.

There isn't really anything I want to play on it, at least not for about another year, so it's just raw hype-induced consumer lust.

I have no such desire for a 360, although it has inarguably the superior library at the moment.

I'll wait until I have an HDTV to buy either one, though.

we have been playing /enjoying HD games for 2 years now on the 360. I suggest you get a 1080P TV when you do.

For now. I can't see why they'd run two seperate assembly lines any longer than necessary. I forsee all of them having HDMI in the future thus only having to choose whether or not to include a hard drive and if so, what size.

Not unexpected. Not necessarily a problem though. The Wii doesn't appeal to those wanting an HD experience, or to those who want some of the more mainstream gaming types (FPS, RPG, etc). Nintendo made a great decisions though by not competing directly with MS and Sony.

Wii will definitely outsell both X360 and PS3 this generation, although it's sort of going to be apples to oranges.

The global trend in the last 2 years shows an increased focus on "casual" gaming, and I believe that this will continue to a point wherein it represents the majority of the market. Wii will serve this majority, along with any successor hardware from Nintendo.

X360 and PS3 will almost surely show a higher ratio of software sold per unit hardware, although the assuredly much higher installed base of the Wii will post higher absolute software sales numbers.

This will be particularly true if Nintendo resists the temptation to upgrade the hardware in 2-3 years and leaves the original Wii on the market for 5-7 years. This approach will appeal to the cost-conscious and largely performance-indifferent casual gaming audience. I can only imagine the sales numbers a $100 Wii and companion Mario game would generate in 3-4 years when something like that would be a reality.

I'll buy all 3, of course, although I'll wait to get a PS3 until MGS4 and I'll wait for a 360 until they stop breaking all the time. I don't have any compulsion to be able to play Halo 3 at launch.

sorry just sold my 360 to my friend for 250 w/ 2 controllers and 2 games...It was a brand new replacement unit too, built 6/7/07...good thing MS switched mines to the new one or I would be stuck w/ two 360s

I am a Halo sucker...put Halo on it...and I would most likely buy it-it's my weakness. Just imagine how many Game Fuel drinks I have drank already.
