Patriots by 14 in the 'Bowl.

I've been a fan of the Pats D since I hung out with Bruschi in college - Same graduating class, several classes together. Cool guy.

All this whining about Carolina's treatment of the Iggles is pathetic. If they had shown up and played football, they'd have been fine. They got outplayed, plain and simple. Several of those hits are sure to make ESPN's "Jacked Up" segment. :)

Besides, football is a brutal, violent game. If you ain't hittin', you ain't winnin'.

Great SuperBowl matchup coming up.

They did show up and play . . . weren't doing all that bad until McNabb got taken out, actually. :-)

3 points?

No. They played poorly. His receiving corps looked miserable.

And McNabb, for his size and athleticism, should be able to take a little more than that. His O-line needs a smack.

Carolina's D just wanted it more today, plain and simple.

The 3 points thing was kind of pathetic, especially since they had two really good chances in the red zone. But if you saw the part of the game where they "sacked" McNabb (wasn't much contact intially, just a Panther player pulling McNabb's sneaker), and then the hit after that where another Panther hit his legs bending them closer to his head (clamshell style) . . . he took a fair bit of abuse tonight, or yesterday at this point. Plain and simple, yeah, they didn't have their best game after McNabb got taken out, and their receivers almost seemed scared, but the Panthers were and are a team Philly should've been able to beat.

don't even try it.

the panthers always seem to come out on top when they shouldn't. look for them to win by a very slim margin. both the pats' and panthers' defenses are top notch. the special teams will decide this one.

the panthers by three.

Manning had 4 interceptions, and until the last minute, the Patriots only had a 7 point lead? Wasn't their best game, and even though they won, their last two haven't been very reassuring if you're a Patriots fans, like quite a few of my friends are around here (Litchfield County, CT). :-)

The Patriots played well and the battles between the Colts and the Pats have always been fierce. Just because the Colts lost their AFC Championship game does not make Manning "overrated." You dont get Conference co-MVP by being "overrated." If you did, Culpepper would win ever year.

Now,There is some strange sickness going around Indianapolis. People feel the need to blame Peyton for the loss. Football has not been in this city long enough for the fans to know, you support your team when they win or loose. The Colts won and lost as a team this post season. Not one person undermined their post-season aspirations. The team turned the ball over way too much, didn’t allow for a running game and made stupid freakish mistakes. The Colts game plan was to keep from doing this and they still made these mistakes. It was a tough loss for the Colts having to loose to a former division rival.

Good luck Pats and Cardiac Cats

I didn't mean Manning wasn't good . . . quite a few games this season have proved quite the opposite, he's had some really amazing games. But even against the Patriots, 4 interceptions is way too many, and it could have cost them the game. If you're as good as they made him out to be, that's not what you do in the AFC championship . . . I'm sure we'll all be seeing more from him in the next few seasons though, even though I pray the Eagles never see him, heh. :-)

So i guess after the play is over and mcnabb is on his back he is supposed to show some kind of super athleticism that allows him to not get smashed by some guy that obviously was trying to hurt our QB? ;) Eagles D was playing good the whole game, but 3 interceptions and 6 dropped balls and many missed catches were not Mcnabbs fault, the receivers crapped out on this game, they played like p******. Running game was good too, but not enough to offset the recivers awful game. It was more of a eagles loss than a panthers win :\

Mad props to the Panthers D, they really did want the game, and it showed.

Thank god for another Eagles fan. :-) I've said it before, McNabb was looking good . . . ungodly hard hits by the Panthers (some too hard, even for football) into Eagles receivers, and some regular dropped passes . . . but its not like we're not used to disapointment as Philly fans, heh.

I'm actually happy with the eagles, they are the most winning team in the NFL for the past 3 years. Getting to the finals 3 years in a row isnt bad, and who's to say there wont be a 4th

Ha Ha...... The Eagles deserve to lose because their fans and media is the worst.

I knew the Colts were overated all year.

#1- The pats are tough to beat.

#2-The Colts are a sissy dome team.

#3- It was snowing.

No way the Colts win that game.

Manning looked like an Amatuer, not an MVP.

Hardly, Philly has some of the best fans in the world . . . you wouldn't be judging them like this because of your location, would you? ;-) Sorry about that 4th and 26 if you are, heh . . .

No...im not a Packer fan. I even bet on Philly and won.

I just see their fans booing every time they are not leading, they throw stuff at players and their media bashes their Teams on a constant basis.

The City of Brotherly love my ***. Ive been to Philly, the people are awful.

Best fans in the world???

That is a moronic statement.

The people are far from awful. I've been to Philly more times than I can count, and I love it . . . we as fans are testy, and unless you're a real Philly fan, you just don't understand the mentality. We don't support the whole "support your team, even if they're losing mentality" . . . granted, I'm defending them here, but you can bet your a$$ that I was cursing them out as I watched on TV as I saw them drop passes. And throughout it all, whether the teams are winning or losing, the fans remain, always. And actually, I don't even recall hearing boos at the game Sunday . . . maybe they were just too disgusted, as was I with the loss. We are the best fans in the world. :-)

My point proven.

Damn right we boo'd santa, we chucked D cell batteries and ice balls at the dallas cowboys bench too. When we dont like something we show it. We not a "better luck next time" bunch of wimps, were a "GET ON THE GOD DAMN MOTHER ****ING BALL" fan base. Hell, teams used to refuse to play at the vet, GO PHILLY :ylsuper

*reality check: the santa boo'ing and battery/ice throwing was from the years of old really :D

Ok, i have to point out here a couple things.

#1- The pats are tough, real tough.

#2- The Colts are not a sissy dome team. They were 8-1 on the road this year. Winning outside at Tampa, KC, Buffalo, Clevaland, and elsewhere.

#3- Need I remind you of last year in the cold and the snow on Sunday in Denver when they won, came from behind and Vanderjagt kicked a 51 yarder to send it to OT and then a 53 yarder in OT. The Colts can play outside in the snow.

The Colts got beat by a better team. The key here is the word TEAM. Peyton had a bad game, yes. The O-line was bad too, which is usually doesn't happen and the Pats just had a helluva game plan to shut down the passing game. They played it perfectly and stuck to the plan.

I will readily admit that the Pats were the better team. But, the Colts had a chance to send the game to OT even after being outplayed and manhandled throughout the game. They of course didn't, but they were there in the end.

Manning is the co-MVP for a reason. Look at the numbers he had this year. There haven't been those kind of numbers since I would say Marino, but Kurt Warner had similar numbers a few years ago. The Colts finished 12-4 plus 2 playoff wins. It was a great year for the team and for Manning.

The O-line had a bad game because of Ted Washington (see earlier post quoted below), who if the obese DT meter is any rule to follow by, the pats will win the super bowl. Tony Siragusa (My hero, he personally destroyed Rich Gannon in the 2000 AFC Championship game. He can also kick a 40 yd field goal) was the only person as large as him to play at DT recently, so my money's on Patriots.

yes, i lose a lot of money with theories like this.

I'm gettin' sick of philly fans complaining about the hit on McNabb.A) Coming around the corner there is no way Favors could know that McNabb had already been touched and was going down by contact. For all he knew McNabb was falling and could get right back up and throw or run.B) The whistle had not blown when Favors hit McNabb. If Favors backed off having not heard the play blown dead, he would not have been doing his job. If you want to point fingers blame the refs for being slow on the whistle.

And the Eagles were being outplayed long before McNabb went down.

As for the town itself, I've been there too, twice. It was twice too many. But then again I don't have much love for any of the old, gray northeastern cities with their rotten weather and dead industries. That's why I bugged out the DAY after my college graduation party and headed south.

Well, continue to be sick of it. :-) Philly fans won't change, even if you are sick of us complaining . . . with regard to that tackle/sack, it was unneccessarily "rough", and should have been considered if nothing else roughing the passer, regardless of whether the whistle was blown or not. There is no doubt the refs were to blame there, but they wouldn't have needed to be blamed if there wasn't a fault in the first place.

Personally, I think the Eagles receivers were flat out scared after all the hits . . . the Eagles could have and should have won that game, it was well within reach, considering the number of times that they got close to the endzone. Between awful jobs by our receivers, and some hard hits by Panthers, it cost us the game . . . it was one that the Eagles could have easily won though, just remember that. :-)

I love the city . . . I've been there a few times, particularly for Sixers games, and I just love the experience. You might not like the weather, and you might not like the industry, but I've also been down south . . . other than the Outer Banks, NC didn't seem much fun to me. ;-)

Philly is actually a very clean place, and a place with lots of history and meaning. You obviously didnt visit south street or the franklin institute or boathouse row. Philly has crime and lowcost housing just like every other city in the US but its still a great place to be.

All i know is, philly is the place to be if you like sports. Baseball, Football, Basketball, IceHockey, Lacrosse, what ever it is, philly has a sports team in that sport that is worth talking about.

I can't believe that you call yourself a Philly fan elbles :)

Seriously,

You go on and on and on about how Philly fans don't stand behind their team when they lose and how they are a get on the ball type attitude, etc etc.

BUT

All your previous posts blame the "dirty" Panthers D for being "unfair" in the game and hurting mcnabb and the receivers. I have a news flash for you: did you watch the Colts-Pats game? Just as physical at times. Eugene Wilson put monster hits on Stokley, Walters and almost had a helmet-to-helmet with Wayne, but he just stuck him in the face with his shoulder pad instead.

All this, and I have not heard one Indy fan complaining about it. Why? They are true fans. I give it up to you Indy fans. You beat my team (Chiefs) fair and square and I was man enough to admit it (check previous post).

You, on the other hand, show why you are not a Philly fan, or why Philly fans are hypocritical pieces of doo doo that can't stand behind a team because they're still the 5-year-old kid that always wants to pick the winner. THIS is why Philly fans suck!

By the way, the only two teams to win more games than Philly the last 4 years and not make the Super Bowl? The 49ers in 90-93, and 95-98. What happened in 94? Super Bowl victory. Too bad you'll never see the Eagles there.

Actually I did. I got prepositioned by several hookers. I was 15 at the time. Yeah, great town.Sort of similar to my San Francisco experience, another city so many people rave about, when I was there all I saw was filth. I even saw a motorist get out of his car at a red light, walk up to the car in front of him, spit on it, and get back in his car. Another town I wasn't sorry to leave.
