I am a cheap ***... but when I spent money on stuff I take the time to research the products, and READ A LOT!!! I wanted to know what coilover I should buy when I have the money. I have came to my decision that the best two low priced coils would be Stance or PBM. The reason I will choose Stance over PBM is because PBM is from what I read a lot stiffer and this is for my DD so I still would like slight comfort.

I'm not really a respectable source I guess, but I thought I would shed my light. Also, someone said, "get nice rims first, stockers look stupid on coils" <-- Stupid. Get the coils first then the WHEELS, that way u can get better sizes and offsets that only fit on coils.

Edit: I am also a supporter for everything Brian says. (even his jokes/disses) He speeks da troof.

ah, another "cheap" coilover vs "quality" coilover thread.

to start off, here is my personal experience...i've been running my "cheap" megan streets for about 6 months now. no tracking just dailying and so far they are holding up great. 6 months isn't really enough time but i still just wanted to share. they look/ride like new and the nyc roads aren't really silk roads...

as far as buying the more expensive coils...i don't know...it seems like it's all personal preference. some people think that just because it cost more it has to be better. some think although it doesn't cost as much it's still comparably good. so there really isn't a "right or wrong" it's just what you believe in. i happen to give the underdogs in the business a shot and so far haven't been disappointed.

These last couple years have really screwed up the whole 240sx market in my opinion.
agreed, ebay is flooded with random 240 stufz, bolt on turbo kits and lowering springs for 20 dollars with 250 shipping..lol. 4-5 years ago, ka-t was near impossible to make happen out of the box, now you can get a "kit" just like civics. i dont mind cheaping out on some stuff cuz im broke but i definatly wouldnt change my suspension with knockoffs or a lesser brand... oem, or oem with quality springs, nothing less. i dont see the need for a daily driver to be rediculously low, esp in ny. a good drop with some nice wheels, good to go. some of you are just playing along and need to get your priorities right.
