I oredered an s13 redtop front clip w/ Silvia body parts from Flash Options. So far they have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. They respond promptly to my emails and have been very helpful and professional. I will post more once I receive the clip, but so far I give them an A+

I ordered it about 2 weeks ago, and it it shipping by sea freight which is supposed to take 21-30 days. I don't know if they want me to disclose what I paid for it, as it was a very good price. You should email them for pricing and you'll see exactly what I mean

is unkosher even a word? Hehehe, ya something doesn't seem right :-/

A very active member should order from flashoptions. That IMO would prove a more then someone that registers that only has 2 posts.

The problem with that is that the vast majority of the more active users already have a sr20det or don't want one.

Or.... they'll get it from daunt bacause they'd rather spend an extra $4-600 for the engine and ~$1000 for body panels and be assurred that everything works and know if it doesn't they're covered. Some people are just wierd that way.

If i had gotten this price shipped to my door rather than a port (all port are at least 16 hours from me) then i would have been a tester for flash options. But when i worked it all out with price they gave me it was only 200bucks less than daunt. But yeah man keep us update, maybe the all the drama will resolve.

"unkosher" I don't like what I am being accused of. I'm trying to do this forum a favor and comments like that are the thanks I get. I will keep you all updated, but not if those type of comments continue.

Yeah FlashOptions prolly told em to post here so they could get some compliments on the board. But everyone's right, it doesnt mean anything if the engine and parts havent been RECEIVED, and are found to be in working order, nothing missing, etc. plus it's a brand new member.

Brent, Im actually eager to find out if this goes through for you, I mean 1600.00 for a front clip with everything. I could make my money back on it just selling the panels and whatever I dont use on ebay. But like most folks on here probably are Im having doubts cause the deal seems too good. No offense but you obviously understand that its a good deal so you can also understand why people are doubting it.

The admins should be able to check Brent's IP and see where it resolves to. This way they can see if this guy is a genuine user or if he's flash posting. I'm not hating on flash or anything, I'm just trying to help him prove him self and if brent is legit, then it would help.

Brent,

You will have to excuse these guys/ladies. They have been burnt before on dealers and importers doing this type of things.

And guys, we should take him at his word until we have a valid reason not to. I value every bit of info on parts, dealers, importers, and manufactures that I can get.

Please let us know how it goes.

I dont blame them. I've been burnt before on online transactions. Like I won a scsi computer card on ebay for $20 and sent a USPS money order. The guy never sent the card. Filed a fraud claim with the USPS and haven't heard from them since, and this was back in 2000.

I personally would like better proof if I was gonna buy from FlashOptions. Sure call me skeptic like the other guys, but I'm not comfortable sending $2,000 over seas with even a slight chance of me never seeing my SR20.

I did my research and thats why I have chosen to go with Afterdark Tuning:

1. I take pride from buying in the US (even if I am buying Japanese products) :patriot

2. They give me a engine start-up garauntee. (dont know if flash does or not)

3. I only live about 4 hours away from Afterdark so I can pick up my engine and inspect it myself before I bring it home. In my case, with flash, I would have to ship the thing all the way back to Asia and hope to get my money back.

These are just my personal reasons why I have chosen the company that I have. Sure there are other great companies out there selling the SR20 swaps, but this one just suits my needs the best and have no problem paying a couple hunderd bucks extra to make sure I get a quality engine. And this is coming from a student with a part time job so you know I can't really afford to just throw my money away.

I don't wish to dis any company. If Flashoptions is a legit company and they are dedicated to service like everyone is saying, then more power to them! Just wanted to share my opinion on why the guys here are questioning flashoptions.

Just be safe and do your research when you are buying anything online. Have a good day everyone! :)

SR20DET240, noticed you chose Daunt. What do you think about this whole engine delay thing, he said he would have em on a boat like 2.5 weeks ago and they still aren't. Aren't you getting anxious.:bandit :

I have chosen Daunt, but have not purchased from him yet. I work for a mail order company called Design Toscano and they sell a lot of home & garden statues and stuff. We get a good portion of our stuff from Asia and lately, we have had many items on backorder. The backorder dates also keep getting extended because they are still having problems with the boats getting here on time and I guess there is still some residual issues from when the dock workers went on strike. That strike held up a lot of people and its taking a while for everything to get going at a decent pace again.

So to answer your question, I'm not suprised that it is taking longer than expected. I've only had a few conversations with Daunt myself, but from everybody elses experience, he seems to be a man of his word.

Don't worry, the engines will get here eventually. I'm sure hes just as anxious as you are! :)

yes, everything is still held up...I work in the executive offices for the New York Islanders hockey club, and everygame, we have the promotional item giveaways, so far we've had about 6 that didnt arrive in the time for the games, and had to give out vouchers to be redeemed at a later date...>It sucks, and it does cause customer service madness...but atleast people are kinda understanding reguarding the strike situation...i know for a while they were only running on 30% efficiency, but that might be higher now.

I find it ironic that I explained the exact same thing to her, as well as the additional problems we're having with our Japanese Agent, well before she posted here the exact same thing that I answered. : ) I'll answer it again, theres a reason I didn't give a guaranteed arrival date, obviously I made some goals and tried to meet them, but I couldn't, now we've hit the holidays which slows everything down even more. The engines will be here in January, but no, I still don't have a guaranteed arrival date. I was very clear about that, and everyone who went in on it with me was very clear on it as well. As I keep telling SilviaGirl, if you aren't comfortable with the arrangement, then don't do it, its that simple. Enjoy your day.

That's cool Daunt. As long as I get my engine by January. Thanx for the explaination, but as you can see we're all anxiously awaiting your first shipment. :jump
