Latest Figures:

I put in a few extra (4 to be exact) PSI into the tires (from the factory 33), now tires at about 44 PSI hot.

8.58 L/100km - 27.59 MPG7.98 L/100km - 29.68 MPG8.08 L/100km - 29.31 MPG

70% - 'highway'30% - city

Seems like engine is mostly broken in and I'm only getting about 5% advantage for the extra air in the tires. I have to say though, the ride is a lot 'stiffer/bumpier'.

Just put in my first tank after two weeks of ownership.566 km (80% city)55 liters fuelBy my calculations it works out to 29.09 MPG (imperial)

Not bad seeing as it's not broken in yet. Way better than my 06 Vibe AWD.

I just filled up for the first time.

366.7 miles on the tank24.6 mpg

Pretty happy with that considering it was 80% city/20% highway.

Just filled up for the first time after purchasing my car 5 days ago. It had 30 miles on it when we drove it off the lot, but with a full tank of gas.

It was 100 miles home on an highway that went thru towns where the speed limit was anywhere from 30 - 65. Yes, 30 AC was on the entire time and was stopped at a few red lights.

After that about 70/30 hwy/city with some rush hour traffic both ways. Light driving and not over 80 mph, very little AC.

385 miles/14.814 gallons = 25.99 mpg. Computer read 24.6.

I was amazed to get that much already!! I figured it be a couple of thousand miles until I got that high.

My wife and I took a little road trip last weekend. Mainly secondary roads going between 50 and 65 MPH with no A/C. Part of the trip was over a mountain pass and some winding roads through national forest land. The Rogue handled very very well on the curves, and just hauled butt up the pass. At the end of the day I filled up at the same gas station using the same pump, and it took 5.1 US gallons of gas to go 182.1 miles. That is 35.7 MPG We spent practically the whole day in the car with just a few stops, just as comfortable as can be. Can't say enough about how much I enjoy owning this car. By the way mine is an AWD SL.

I have a Wicked Black, SL AWD, not so premium sound package, leather package. I added a spoiler and window visors. Mine has not made it to the 1200 mile break-in point so the miles are all city. My last fill up got me 27.3 MPG. I must say I'm very pleased and look forward to getting even better miles when she's broke in. Just regular unleaded gas. Love my Rogue!

Second fill up.

399.9 miles round up to 400, computer said 26.5 mpg.

400/16.44 gallons = 24.33 mpg

How I managed to get 16.44 gallons in a 15.9 tank escapes me, unless they do have a bigger tank than reported. When I parked the car this morning it said I had an estimated 40 miles left, but when I started it up to drive 6 miles to fill up the dte stayed at ----- the entire time. Either I was really on fumes, with 2 ticks of gas left, or dte doesn't recalculate?

Can anyone comment on that?

I did some more city driving and lots more ac this tank. I guess I didn't fill up as much the first time as I did this time?

I already fill my tank with a little bit more than 68 liters (about 17.9 gallons), but I usually try to fill it until I see the fuel (not wise I know).

So you can say that the tank is at least 17 gallons.

With the squares, when you only have two left (the tank light should just have been on at that time), you have about two gallons left in the tank, about 100kms (60 miles). When the last square disappears, you are on fumes (less than 10 miles to go).

I don't know the computer as I don't have it on my car, but this kind of thing are known as quite inaccurate. You should base your estimate on your mileage, that is the most precise way to know, with a look on the gauge and your computer.

Even the scangauge I got could give me false confidence and I should take its figures with caution.

Right now, I am aiming to get 900kms on the current tank, I will tell you if I succeed at the end of next week.

Is it bad to "top off"? I was kinda amazed when I was filling up and I saw 15 then 15.5 and 16 that I was looking down the chute thinking I had a hole somewhere. I've never done that before. I'm sure I coulda put more in there, but nothing ever spilled out.

The gas light did come on when I went down to 2 squares, of which I drove about 20 miles on and when I made it to the gas station those 2 were still on. But I'm puzzled as to why dte wouldn't show anything when I went to go get gas after restarting when the gas light was on.

Since it's only my 2nd tank I still haven't gotten a complete firm grip on the mileage of this. The light came on right around the same mileage as last time, 380, so I guess that's my average right now. I hope it continues in the opposite way back to 26. I'm sure it will get better when the temp cools down.

Dude! One day you're going to report a story of how you got stuck on Highway 40 and have run completely out of gas. I hope you have CAA-Quebec!

I know, I am a little bit crazy on the subject.

Once, I have been in the middle of nowhere in France, and it was then I discovered than you can put more fuel than the tank capacity

And I once was out of gas, 3am (after my work at the time), when exiting the highway, but luckily there was a gas station right at the exit. Just enough gas to restart the car and go up to the gas station. To my defense, the fuel gauge was not working properly and make it change under warranty.

Oh, and I did the famous "we are out of gas" trick once, but at one of my friend and coworker at the time . Going downhill, the pick up line emptied and cut the engine, I went to park on the side, try to restart the car and was able to go to the next exit to take some gas. He didn't like the adventure at all

I stopped counting the " we should stop experimenting and take some gas now" from my wife

Now, when I am not alone, I don't take chances, but if I am on my commute...

Now that I have more knowledge on the gas/tank subject I think I am able to get a better handle on mpg. 3rd fill up:

409 miles/15.78 gallon = 25.9 mpg. Computer read 26.1, close enough. Computer still read 53 miles dte. Had more city driving than last tank.

3 fill ups so far:1) 26 (throwing out due to fill up inaccuracies)2) 24.33) 25.9

I'm happy. If I can continue this trend I'll be at like 50 mpg in a few months.

I couldn't do it!

Not because I didn't want to but because gas stations decided to play the "10cents a liter increase for the weekend" game a little bit earlier this week (They usually start playing it from thursday morning (this week) to as late as friday midday, almost every week).

So the results: 867.9 kms with 63.136 l, therefore 7.27 lhk or 32.35 mpg.

That means that in worse case scenario, I still had 2 liters to do 32 kms, but probably around 5 liters.

So if the stars (and gas stations ) align themselves correctly, I should report a 900 kms tank use soon.

Next fuel tanks will all be at 100 kmh highway speed so I should be closer to 7.0 lhk next time (I usually do 6.7 to 6.8 lhk commutes).

First off, most of the mileage figures reported in this thread are in US MPG.

The 'window sticker' figure shown on all Canadian cars is calculated in Imperial Gallons (Canada was a British colony after all) which is 20% larger than the US Gallon! To convert from Imp Gal to US Gal, simply divide by 1.2 . That works out to:

25.8/32.5 city/hwy US MPG - Rogue FWD

The US EPA figures are

22/27 city/hwy MPG - Rogue FWD

Still, there is a considerable difference. Mileage testing in Canada is carried out by Natural Resources Canada. The test method is different from the US EPA ratings so they are not comparable with each other. You can read more about it here:

I wouldn't mind having one of those, actually.

Has anyone ever heard of HHO fuel?

It's been awhile since I tracked fuel economy. I'm at 30,000km and still averaging 8.3l/100km or 28mpg.

also as a note I drive 100 miles a day to work and back. with bp gas I average 3 to 5 miles more per gallon than if I use Mobile or road ranger which is about 70 to 80 miles more on a full tank of gas. and that is consistant.

I took delivery of my new Rogue S AWD (Venom Red) last Thursday and took it on its first highway run today. I did the fuel consumption check and came out with 26.48 mpg (US). I had my A/C on at a low cool setting with the fan set at low too. I always use cruise control when driving the highways and I kept the RPMs to between 2,000 and 2,500 (this had my speed at around 77mph) I know that's over the posted limit but not by much.

This is much better than my '05 Pathfinder and I still had enough room in the back for a complete gas fire with surround. I love it!!!!!

Hey new here - had the Rogue since Christmas 08.

Just finished our first long trip - Tampa to DC and back. Travelled 1935 miles total - spent just $201 in gas. Less than I'd expected.I went through 75 gallons of gas so that equals about 25.8 MPG. I had the cruise control set at 80-82 most of the trip.

The Rogue was great the whole way, rode comfortably, no issues w/anything. Much more comfortable than the X-Terra we traded in - plus the FAR better MPG helps.

We average about 23 around town - and have gotten as much as 27 MPG on a trip to Tallahassee before.

I have had my AWD SL for 3 months now.

I am getting 23 MPG in the city and 19-20 MPG on the highway going about 80 MPH.

Seems odd that I would be getting worse fuel economy on the highway. Is anyone else experiencing something similar?

I have been driving with cruise whenever possible and as gentle on the acceleration/braking as possible.

Regularly average 24-25 mpg calculated by miles driven / gas pumped....about 1 mpg less than display reads...that's combined h-way, city and rural driving with a less than fuel miserly wife driving...almost 12k miles on the odo

Doing 80mph on the highway won't help. Wind drag increases exponentially with speed and the Rogue isn't exactly slippery either. I have noticed fuel economy drops like a stone above 70mph. At 65mph I easily get 27mpg.

Yesterday, I drove west across Indiana and Illinois in sub-zero temps and against massive winds (don't even ask how much my face hurt after standing outside filling the tank in Indianapolis).

The Rogue got its worst mileage ever, at 19.9 MPG on the trip odo average for the tank.

On the other hand, with the heat on full blast and the bun warmer on high, it was a nice and cozy ride.

2008 Rogue SL AWD; location Vancouver, BC;Pretty much 50/50 Hwy/City driving. 2500kms/mth. I've had it for 6mths.

9.1 l/100km or 25.9 mpg. Excellent fuel consumption. Pisses me off that the AWD doesn't qualify for the tax break on fuel efficient vehicles like th FWD does. It gets way better fuel economy than it was rated for!

Almost 2 feet of snow up here right now, and I am sooooo happy for my new Rogue AWD and the stock M+S tires it comes with. No problems so far. Fingers crossed b/c i have a snakey hill to get up to get home from work.

Merry Christmas everyone!

This is the last year of the EcoAuto rebate. 2009 model year (and up) vehicles are not eligible. To qualify for the rebate, the vehicle had to attain a combined fuel economy rating (55% city, 45% hwy) below the guideline using the Canadian gov't test procedures. For cars this was 6.5l/100km and 8.3l/100km for light trucks/SUV's. The FWD Rogue attained exactly 8.3 l/100km combined, the AWD gets 8.7 l/100km combined. The program was very controversial, perhaps why it's being discontinued.
