I'm about 1/2 torn right now. I kinda like the way it looks, but I think it stands out too much. I'm going to be leaving it for a little while, as $$$ isn't common to me right now. So, we'll see.

you need a new grill that would really set the car off. It looks good but I still like the painted clean look just me I guess.

I say leave it and use the money to buy some sideskirts and paint them white so your side lines match up :) if that wont happen just save the money. Looks nice that way.

Maybe I'm too old school, but what about UV damage to the composite resin? My senior project was all about composites, and UV protection had to be considered for any outdoor applications. UV will destroy the phenolic over time, causing it to chip and look cloudy, probably down around the hinges first, and then spreading forward. It does look SWEET as is, and I'm usually turned off by CF usage on cars.

that hood ruined your car. it now looks like a junkyard matched up POS wreck. the only people who think black CF hoods look MaD JdM TyTe are ricers. everyone else in the world thinks you're some halfassed cheapo who cant afford to paint his car fully. your car is seriously NICE, totally not tacky and very tasteful. dont ruin it with unmatched bodypanels.

as for everyone else who likes mAd TyTe JdM black CF hoods.. just spray paint yours black. from a few yards back, they look the same anyways... like an unmatched car. or buy the ghey CF stickers. if you're doing it for looks anyways, who cares if its not lighter.

after seeing pics with it installed, i say paint it. or do the translucent white paint. i think it'll look better. its just too much contrast the way it is. but a very nice hood indeed, uh huh.

If it your car was black, id say leave it, thats what im doing, becuase its basically black, and i think it'll have a cool effect, but with the all white silvia, paint it white when you get the money. it depends on if you're about "go" or "show".

You just called half the people posting in this thread ricers. be careful in expressing your opinions. you don't have to like it, but don't pass judgement on those who do.Also, who cares what the other 98% of the population thinks when they see his car. if they think junkyard mismatch, they just don't know anything about modding cars and they don't matter.BTW; my friends and I always joke when we see a cheap *** car with mismatched junkyard body pannels saying "did you see the carbon fiber on that car? Damn!" but we all think CF is a pretty neato thing to have.

True Crabon Fiber Hoods or Body panels lighten your car which is a performance aspect. In my mind adding performance mods (in most cases) is not rice. That is a high grade hood, why try to hide it? I think It goes great with the car.

C'mon you got to leave it. I mean just look at mine, sweet huh? j/k :D Anyway you paid $650 shipped? I hope you got the high quality hoods with the rolled edges for that much. Mine was $400 picked up.

Paint it. Subtlety is the key. Ricers get CF hoods, and I dont want Nissan owners to be classified as ricers. TWO1

I think its BEAUTIFUL unpainted, and I also think partially painting is a ****load more ricey than no paint at all. The hood matches the black of the edges of the back of the windows and it matches the tires. Have you ever thought about how you're going to make the paint stick? I'd cry if I had to sand down a new CF hood. It makes me cringe just thinking about it! X:

Ricers get CF hoods because they are carbon fiber hoods. Others get carbon fiber hoods because they are light. So its not owning a CF hood that makes you a ricer. Im pretty sure all you anti-rice troopers would say spending money on something purely cosmetic that doesnt affect performance is rice. Yet here you are telling him he needs to spend 300 dollars painting something that looks fine because if he doesnt it is rice. Hmm that doesnt make much sense to me. If he spent that 300 dollars on something else cosmetic like underbody lights you would tell him to use it on go fast parts instead. So dont say either painted or unpainted is ricey. If that is the only justification for your opinion you dont even need to bother giving it.

:Werd he should paint it cuz he wants the all white look, not cuz he's afraid of being classified as a ricer.
