Cell Phone Companies...

I hate Sprint. They're bastards to deal with, they have really crappy policies, their payment system drives me crazy, and their service sucks in my hometown. It's time to get a new phone and service. On the East Coast, what companies have you guys used and liked? I'm thinking about ATT, but I'm worried because not too many people I know have them. Watcha guys got?

ATT sucks bigger *** then Sprint... I have tried ATT, Sprint, MCI, Verizon, T-mobile and Nextel. Best one I can say is Verizon and Nextel, the good thing about Verizon is that the plans are really good and service is decent, I dont know how good it will be for CT tho... anyways for Nextel, its awesome if you have alot of buddys with Nextel so you can use the walkie talkie thingy since if your not really planning to use that, the plans are costly....

yeah I was actually thinking about Nextel- a couple of my friends have it, and the walkie talkie feature is kinda cool.... They have amazing service around here as well... arugh I just hate how expensive their plans are and how UGLY their phones are...

when i used it.. the service was just horrible..... usually in Manhattan, all the companies were good but ATT just sucks big time.

Get nextel... u wont regret it... and make sure u get unlimited walkie talkie, free nights and weekends and long distance

Nextel walkie talkie is good, but if you wanna talk on the phone..4get it! you would rather go use a pay phone.

walkie talkie is cOOl to you only becuase you don't have it, try having that for a year straight; it get soOO annoying you wish you never opened one, well that's to me at least.

actually i have had nextel for 2 years... and yes it CAN get annoying when your at work or something and someone screams out WUSUPPPPPP on the phone lol.... but ummm... anyways..

and I was just looking at nextel: they charge you EXTRA for voicemail and caller ID!??! what the hell is that?!

I have only tried sprint so far and I know how the urge to kill them all...My girlfriend has T-Mobile and here in Dallas she has really good service and good customer service as well, the plans are relatively cheap as well, I think it's what I'll try in six months.

yeah really, thats what gets me the most about sprint- they're hardcore a$$holes and they make everything really difficult for the customer. Add me to your plans if you feel like killing them all anytime soon...

t-mobile HAS one of the best plans i think... I guess cuz its a pretty new company so they try to get more customers by offering cheap plans, but i still say get nextel... since i had best service with them compare to all the other services i had... right now i dont have a celly but when i do get another one... which will be soon, it will be nextel again

I have AT&T, it has the best coverage of anyone in California. I've never had any problems...

Hey Fiznat, I'm up in New Milford (just north of Brookfield/Danbury, in case you didn't know), and I have Verizon. It's very spotty coverage up in Litchfield county, for the most part, but once you start to go south (lower Litchfield county/Fairfield county), the service is great, all digital in that area. Competitive plans (I have something like 300 anytime minutes, and 4000 night and weekend minutes, and 2 phones/lines, for $44.95/month). It's definitely something to think about . . . nice phones too.

ATT has amazing west coast coverage, but their customer service sucks. T-mobile sucks customer service wise too, havent heard too much about other plans.

hi everyone, I live in queens, NY. I have ATT had it for years now, i just recently got the new nokia 3650 and the gsm/gprs service. I have no complaints with reception or anything.

sorry its been so bad for you, but i get the worse reception in my house (fine everywhere else) and this is the first time i can actually talk on my phone without loosing signal and dropping calls. So i am happy with it. I guess it comes down to location

Well I had Cingular...and guess what? Sucks! So I switched to Nextel and Im really happy with the service.I get 50 times better reception and I like the extra features of the 2 way. Only downside is it costs a little more for there plans and the phones are usually bigger. I got the I90 and its not that big but its battery lasts me for a while. I think its beneficial if you have lots of friends with Nextel cause you can just two way. Im extremely happy with there service.

I have had sprint for almost two years . .their service sucks really bad, but it's the best price. When i was about to cancel my plan . .they gave me an unadvertised special . .so I took it..

And after the first month . . 49.99

So I stuck with it . . planning on getting verizon in september . . I have high expectations about it so it better stand up to it's reputation.

Hey mang... all you peoples hating on AT&T Wireless... stop it... I work for AT&T Wireless and we are the best!!! =) j/k... actually... we have one of the best nation wide coverage of all... especially west coast... but I know, in the east... it kinda gets shady.. but trust me.. it's getting better.... our plans are getting much better too. go with the GSM service. we are trying to push it and so the price is much lower for the minutes that you get.

Cell phone companies blow!!! I have Verizon, which is one of the best around here. THEY STILL SUCK!!! Even though I have phone insurance, they give me crap for taking my phone back and wanting a new one. The phones they give out for free only last me about a year. Then they start missing calls, only getting one side of the conversation, etc, etc.

you guys have to understand that cell phone will not ever be %100 perfect... you will have flaws.. so you WILL drop calls no matter what company you have.. y ou will loose reception when you go into a building, tunnel, and so on...

Verizon has the best reception in the Bay Area at least Bar-none! I simply get coverage EVERYWHERE. Also last summer I was in New York and had no trouble anywhere at all... I even went to camp in the Boondocks in Vermont and still had reception. Verizon has almost twice as many towers as the next closest competitor(att) nationwide. Only thing is that the phones kinda suck. But I dont care as long as i get reception:)
