Verizon, Cingular and Sprint are the worst companies available. AT&T is right on their tail. T-Mobile is the only company that is even *acceptable* I had Nextel for a while, but I can't afford it right now, so I'm back on my dads Verizon phone. I dropped 6 calls in 15 minutes once. That is how much Verizon sucks. In 6 months, on my Nextel, I dropped one call at school in the science lab.

I can't wait to get my Nextel back, I hate Verizon like no other.

I have had sprint for almost two years . .their service sucks really bad, but it's the best price. When i was about to cancel my plan . .they gave me an unadvertised special . .so I took it..

1000 anytimefree nights and weekendsPLUS free samsung a460 phonePLUS free first month

And after the first month . . 49.99

So I stuck with it . . planning on getting verizon in september . . I have high expectations about it so it better stand up to it's reputation.

That isn't an un-advertised plan ... They maybe a$$holes, but their a$$holes that want your money ... I have had them for about 4 years now ... I have threaten to cancel service 3 times ... and each time they either offered me a rate reduction or an increase in my anytime minutes at not charge.

you guys have to understand that cell phone will not ever be %100 perfect... you will have flaws.. so you WILL drop calls no matter what company you have.. y ou will loose reception when you go into a building, tunnel, and so on...

This is so true for the US Market (we use towers fir broadcast) ... I don't understand why we didn't upgrade to satellite based cellular communication like in Europe ... far better coverage and signals. Oh well ... guess everything good in life has to be imported

I've heard some good things about Nextel, but I have Verizon and have had for about 3 years now, most of the companys suck, but Verizon seems to not suck as much.

I dont like AT&T because I'd have to pay more for nationwide and I hate nokia phones, everyone and their 13 year old sister has them. The faceplates get on my nerves. The one good thing about sprint is that the phones look cool...but mine drops calls NONSTOP and generally pisses me off, and of course they can never find anything wrong with it. Their customer service sucks too, they never do anything to fix the problem. AT&T has good coverage around here, I just dont like the nokia phones. As for T-Mobile having bad service, my girlfriend hasnt had any problems yet, they always seem to be really nice to her. But then again I am comparing them to sprint...which makes two cans and a string look damn tempting.

i have cingular right now, going on 6 months, i gota wait till my contract is up, but i hear(not from here of course lol) that alltell is pretty good, a few of my friends have the service and my mom just switched over to alltell.....i have a nokia phone too:rolleyes lol, i wanted one of those camera phones but theyre probly just a waste of money, it would be interesting to have though

Pretty funny thing is I work for Convergys (IMG side). Well Im on the Sprint Development team. We create that software that Sprint uses to determine billing/pricing/etc. Pretty interesting stuff there but I thought that was funny how some one mentioned ALLTEL. Im starting to do work on that. but funny how I work for Sprint but refuse to use there phone because they might not renew a contract with convergys to do development work. So I might be outta job. No WRX for me =( maybe a MR2 with a 3sgte engine.

t-mobile HAS one of the best plans i think... I guess cuz its a pretty new company so they try to get more customers by offering cheap plans, but i still say get nextel... since i had best service with them compare to all the other services i had... right now i dont have a celly but when i do get another one... which will be soon, it will be nextel again

lately, my T mobile sux since sunday nite... whenever i try to use my free nites/weekend min, the phone will say "busy network" GAH! can't call my peeps in south jerzee from nyc lately... any other people w/ T Mobile in the area having the same problems?

i use cingular and it works pretty well(not just saying that because i work for them) the serv works the best out of what ive had. ive used alltel,verizon,and suncom.anyone else use cingular?

even tho i work for cingular.... the good things about cingular is their customer care service. BUT, being a fairly new company and all, they dont cover as much places as ATT does. Even tho ATT service SUCKS in east coast, I noticed that even if u have like no signal in ur phone with ATT, it will STILL ring, even if the phone call is gonna get dropped as soon as u pick up. In New York, NJ area, I think verizon is the best out of all phone companies.

only thing i would suggest anyone ****s with is Sprint or Verizon. Everything else is garbage. Also try gettin a new phone or a software upgrade if yours is not functioning to well, like recieving service .

oh i love nextel and would get it again but unfortunately, i dont have many friends with them now so no point. I also noticed that nextel is going downhill a little. Example: when u make a call to a nextel phone, u used to sometimes get that message where it says "please wait while we something something to the nextel subscriber thingy" but now its getting more and more common.

Hey mang... all you peoples hating on AT&T Wireless... stop it... I work for AT&T Wireless and we are the best!!! =) j/k... actually... we have one of the best nation wide coverage of all... especially west coast... but I know, in the east... it kinda gets shady.. but trust me.. it's getting better.... our plans are getting much better too. go with the GSM service. we are trying to push it and so the price is much lower for the minutes that you get.

Just so you know, it is not getting better in NJ. I had AT&T over 3 years ago and had to cancel because I couldn't get reception anywhere. Work, home, school, inside, outside, climbing up the cell phone tower. Never worked. My brother now has AT&T and the first thing I said when he got it was "you should have never done that" For the past two years he has been suffering with getting almost no calls through. The GSM service is even horrible. They gave it to him free because he could never get calls, and it has been no better.

In NJ Verizon is the best hands down. I almost never have dropped calls, and even with one bar of service on my cell phone I get good reception. I also hate Nokia phones, and the LG I recently got has been treating me well.

Kaioshin1982, that is the exact reason why I wouldn't get Nextel, you can never get through someone with that service. Well over 50% of my calls to Nextel users result in that stupid message, which I have been told basically means they have no service and can't receive the call.

I know, sometimes it'll go throught, but most times I have to wait a couple of minutes, which is just ridiculious. I had to get through to one of my friends once, and I waited 12 minutes to no avail. That's pretty dumb.

get tmobile...i have that...they get problems with towers everyone in a while and if you catch it and call them and complain, u get money off ur bill...works well for me. good plans...good service. id go with them...had att...didnt like...sprint I dont know why anyone bothers with. top three i think are verizon, cingular and tmobile. theres always NEXTEL. expensive but EXCELLENT

My sister's bf works for T-Mobile and he owns a cell shop. He says probably the best reception comes from Verizon. Along with their great marketing campaign(Can you hear me now?), they are backing up their statements. AT&T Wireless may be going under or may be bought out soon. I think Cingular may be looking to make a move on them.

Some companies are better in certain regions as well.

yea i have two lines 500 anytime 1000 mobile to mobile unlimited nights and weekends all for 15.99 from ATT...but my brother's gf works for att normally it would be 50.99

I've researched this alot and there were some consumer reports on it not to long ago.

Verizon, T-mobile and Nextel were among the top.

You get the best plan/deals with T-mobile.

Also the phone you have DOES matter for all you people saying you get really ****ty service. The free phones they give out suck for the most part, spend ~$150 on a phone instead of using the cheap $50 phone they give you.

BTW my lil bro has nextel thru comp usa discount <1000 min for $10 a month> & i've got no problems using his phone... he long quit that job, but still has the plan <whoo hoo>
