The thread was much to long to read. I just wanted to offer some info because i work at AT&T Wireless. Are new GSM phones are the shisnit. That's not just cuz i work here. I don't even work in sales, im in the Fraud dept. so all you scammers beware. Plus we're getting ready to merge with another big company but i can't tell you who. That will monopolize most of the cell phone coverage. We are the new big thing so, just thought i'd let you know, <<<Tom>>>

basically it seems like since ATT is merging with Cingular, ATT just gave up on customer care service coz god DAMN its horrible.

Oh, PRAY TO GOD it's not cingular. If it is i lose my job. It's a toss up between three companies.

And i do admit our Cust. Care BLOWS. They're always new and don't know what the hell they're doing. So if they're not working with you just asked to be placed back in the call Q for someone else to handle you.

I have been on Verizon for 3 years now, excellent reception everywhere, pretty cheap, i like it

Yeah, they're one of the potenial buyers. I like Verizon too. I hope they buy us out. Alot of people don't know that these companies name's are leased. Our real name is Domaco. lol. AT&T Wireless leases the ATT part for STUPID money. Enough to buy a small country every month.

Believe it or not but its Cingular and YES the cust care service people are SOOO NOOB! one guy asked me if i want help setting up voice mail and when I said yes, (even tho I know) he said ok hold on let me get someone to help u lol

Also the phone you have DOES matter for all you people saying you get really ****ty service. The free phones they give out suck for the most part, spend ~$150 on a phone instead of using the cheap $50 phone they give you.

BINGO! It has A LOT to do with what phone you have. I have Cingular and get great reception, but it is because i have the Nokia 3650 which has one of the best receptions and best battery life out of the cell phones for its cost...i have no complaints...

FYI phones do NOT really matter. You guys are saying its a free phone or $50 phone but in reality, the agents HAVE to buy those phones for full price where they are around $200. Its not the phone its that ur supposed to be getting downloads to ur phone occasionally to MAKE ur phone work better. If you call up any phone companies and tell them you want the latest download on ur phone, they will do that for u.

based on what? what I mean is the Dealer or Agents, buy the phone from the company for $200 which is the dealer cost, and up, and the reason WHY the store that u go to can give u the phone for free or $50 or whatever, is because after couple of months, the cingular will send the agents commision of around $400 to the store. Thats how the cell phone stores make money. Thats why when u go to a store and ask them how much is the phone itself is without the service, they sell it to u for $300 and up. I hope I wasnt too confusin.

this information is not entirely true... NO ONE except the big wigs know who or even IF we ARE going to merg with anyone.

The only company that we know of that made an offer for us is Cingular...

there are many other companies that are interested in us but we don't know how far they are...we also have outside companies that are interested as well...

if people knew anything more than this it would be insider info
