I can do pics no problem, but the cans won't be as pretty as those pictures, they've got 2 years of wear on them now. $700 sounds much more reasonable, as mine was $600 and I live in a state with low cost of living.

My guy used all the factory mount points, so its essentially a bolt on system now. Nothing modified or welded onto the car. He's actually a fantastic exhaust guy. I will take everything I ever modify to him. I used others in the past and he looks like the Da Vinci of exhaust compared to the monkeys that did my other cars. I'll post pics when I can, and try to get a rev up video to post. I just don't have any camcorder except my phone, and phones can't catch audio worth sh*t.

Getting off topic for the thread, but I chose Injen because it is tuned for the car and won't throw MAF errors, just plug and play, and no oil on the filter. It's dry. AEM has a "cold air" intake which is really a short ram with a box but it has great reviews. Also the K&N Typhoon has good reviews. Weapon R intakes are well regarded, as well as Takeda. Honestly, I couldn't tell you which is objectively best. I got the polished Injen, and it looks great. I haven't installed the grounding kit yet, but the intake filter is blue and my grounding wires are blue so it will look great. I just need to find a shop to install the kit, as I don't have the proper tools or a lift to get to some of the grounding points.

Check out the intakes I listed, they are all really about the same and it comes down to looks and personal preference.

Also, what did you think of the sound? The clip doesn't do it justice, but you can hear the intake on those revs and it is glorious. My V8 supercharged Range Rover Sport blows it away, but thats not really a fair fight. It does 0-60 in 4.4 :)

Here is a pic of my Injen intake. I took all the airbox parts out, including the plastic air vents along the top of the grill (they were closed anyways, I don't know why they were there).

Exhaust going in on Friday... the only difference is no racingline y pipe..

Fyar, how far out do your tips stick out past the bumper? Can you supply a pic looking down at them?

I think i like the k+n intake. Looks a little more factory with that trim piece they provide.

Mine stick out about 1/4 inch. Just enough to see the magnaflow branding on top of the tips. I'll get a pic at lunch. I want to take them back to the guy and get them pushed back, but they still look good. They aren't tacky, but I'd prefer a more flush, from the factory type of look. I had the exhaust on first, then the Y-pipe put on later. You'll love the sound. The Y-pipe just made it more throaty and a tad louder, the difference from it comes more from power, IMO.

Just remember, with K&N you'll need to oil the filter, which if you over do will cause MAF ECU errors from oil collection on the sensor. The Injen is a dry intake, FYI.

Thanks. I appreciate your advice and look foward to the pic. So even a 1/4 is to far in your opinion.. no y pipe on my car. Prob wont add it due to being illegal.

Didnt realize you need to oil the filter. Any performance differences between tge 2

Air filters on our car are more about personal preference, they all give around the same performance. If you want max performance, the AEM is supposed to the best, but I havent seen before and after dynos of real world cars with them. Here is a pic of the tips looking down:

Are you going 4x6 or 5x8? Post a sound clip when it's on!

Went with the 5x8. 2.5 midpipe to a split then 2.5 to exhausts, (polished) same tips. Double walled. I am having the tips mount flush to the bumper.

If later i feel its too loud, i am looking at the vibrant resonator on summit

I got my tips adjusted today, it looks waaaay better. He leveled them (one side was sagging by about 2mm, drove me nuts) and pushed them more flush with the bumper. Best part, free of charge! I'll post pics later.

Yours looks great though! as long as you like the osund, I'd say you made a better choice than Borla (and saved some $).

Not sure if someone here can help a brother out but I just installed my cat back stillen exhaust on my 08 3.5se I didn't know about the resonator either until after it was instaled. It's very quiet. My muffler guy suggested I take out the resonator. I don't have the RL y pipe and my cats still in place. I'm wondering if I should leave the resonator and just take out the cat and have him make me a custom pipe to the manifold or take the resonator out and my cat as well. I'm sure both options will give me louder which is what I'm going with but I've been trolling for hours and can't seem to find anyone talking about takeing the resonator out on install of the stillen cat back. I don't want to take the resonator out if it should stay and I should remove the cat instead. Any input would be cool thanks alot

You should've purchased the Borla axleback, or went with a custom setup. The Stillen setup is way to quiet on the coupe, and usually ends up causing buyer's remorse. :rotfl
