Iverson doesn't push an effeminate ride. He (or one of his crew) pushes a new Escalade with 22" dubs, PS2 LCD's in the front and back seat, and a system that knocks loud enough to provide concert-style soundlevels - to people outside the truck.

I drive a Metro back and forth every day. (the 240's not on the road.)

Lemme tell ya, it's scary sometimes.

However, 60 pounds of torque will surprise you. I know I shocked the living sh** out of a guy in the parking lot today when I chirped going into second....

Whoever mentioned Suzuki Samurai is confused. There's nothing girly or soft about it. It may be "weak" by today's standards, but it's quite a good base for an offroading project vehicle. The Samurai has long been known to be a very capable off road unit with only basic suspension and axle upgrades. Anybody who studies or just keeps up on the offroading trends knows that these 4x4's have been heavily modded and used in everything from the Top Truck Challenge to Warn's rock crawling championship. In short, the Suzuki Samurai has a cult following, and has proven itself to be a very capable offroading platform.

On to the Jeep. So, from the factory, the looks aren't too great, and the performance for it's intended use(said to be offroading) isn't massive....but then again, a stock 240sx doesn't blow the doors off of ANYTHING either(marketed to women? how many times have I read that phrase on this site?). Keep that in mind. Lots of people buy the Wrangler as a status or a lifestyle symbol. If you're gonna beat up on the Jeep Wrangler, then every one of you who jumps to the defense of Honda cars and blames the owners/drivers for the bad reputation that Honda gets as a rice boy's car should now be jumping to the defense of Jeep and blame the preppy/fem owners, not the vehicle. You can drop a Viper V-10 in a new Wrangler, and mod the hell out of every other part of the vehicle(Dana60 axles, AltasII t-case, among other bombproof parts). Remember that before rushing to judgement. As the politically correct people ALWAYS say:

"Blame the moron owners, not the car."

The same should apply here. There's nothing soft and cuddly and happy and flower colored about a 500hp rock crawler that could climb up a rock trail, and then 60-foot your imported economy car from a stoplight.

I brought up the Samarai and I'm not confused at all. You might be taking this list a little too seriously, buddy. Many of the cars on that the gay list have other cult followings that are not necessarily gay. For example Yuppies flock to BMW's, as do roadracers, and not all them are gay. Yet the BMW is on the gay list because a lot of gays like them too. The "gayness" of a car has nothing to do with the quality of the car itself, it's uses, or whther it can be modded. It's more a statement of the popularity within a particular demographic. The reason I brought up the Samarai is because it looks like a "mini-me" version of the Jeep wrangler which IS on the gay list. The Samarai is also homely, underpowered, poor handling, and unreliable, much like the Jeep Wrangler. I'm also sure I'm not the only heterosexual male that wouldn't be could dead owning one. And the overwhelming majority of Samarai owners do not "mod" their Samarai's and go off-road, Suzuki's biggest demographic is city/suburban people that want something stock, simple, small, AWD and inexpensive. What likely keeps it off the gay list is that Suzuki doesn't sell enough of them to qualify, because they are cheap, unreliable, homely, etc...

Return point.

I'll agree on the Lebaron. this guy used to go to my school and drove a purple one. he had fake chrome wheel covers and goofy chrome tips.

how about the new toyota Prius or the Honda Hybrid thing. and need we forget the Mary Kay cars. although some may have started out cool cars, that pink paint just ruined them.

and although i might get flamed a bunch for this, the 2nd gen Eclipses. i see nothing sporty about them.

My old F-150 had a 390 in it. 6.4 liters of body twisting fun. had true dual exhuast, no cats and a twister race muffler on each side. made one hell of a loud truck, especially coming home from work at 11:00.:ylsuper

2nd gen eclipse is definately a chick car, or a black guy car. a white guy driving a 2nd gen = gay

i think thats a pretty stupid analogy, the 3rd gens have many chicks driving them, and is usually considered a chick car, but the 2nd and 1st gens arent chick cars IMO, my best friend has a 99 eclipse and i dont think its a chick car at allnow im not saying i believe this, but how would u feel if someone just figured everyone who drives a Q is old and limp??, its just dumb to make assumptions and stereotypes like that

Thank You! Finally someone agrees with me! The hottest women out there are VW chicks. I used to work at a VW shop and the amount of talent that used to bring in their VW's was phenomenal. Altho its still not a car that you expect to see a hot girl in as soon as you pull up to the lights cus its usually some hairy guy from Gino or Tony Inside fame (GTI). If it is a girl driving chances are that she is friggin hot.

i respect the Qs ,always have, and i realize their power, especially at top end, but i just think sterotyping dsm drivers as 'gay if its a 2nd gen' is stupid, just like i think its dumb when people stereotype any kind of car, just my .o2, im sure most people think anyone who drives an o2 altima (especially a 4cyl) is a middleage woman who's husband bought it for her, or middleage guy with 2 kids, but i DEF dont fit into that sterotype

i wasnt saying that any guy driving on is gay, i was just making the observation that the majority of people i see driving them are girls. at my school, only 2 or so 2nd gens were driven by guys, the rest were girls.

Ya know...you're right. It must take a pair the size of grapefruits to pull out on to a busy highway in one of those. You could total that thing running in a slightly larger than average squirrel!

The renault Le Car may be considered effeminate here in N.America but it is far from an effeminate car. In Europe they were sold as renault 5's and are still considered quite a bad *** boy racer hot rod. I rode in a few in England that are pushing over 300HP (all i can say is JEEEEEZUS!) , very very far from effeminate.

It kind of proves my theory that they don't really make effeminate cars, just drivers that aren't man enough to pull of driving them without looking fruity. It takes someone that is quite secure in his manhood to drive a sleeper turbocharged cabriolet (I drove one for a bit in highschool), as compared to some closet case that drives a crew cab, 4x4, dually, turbo diesel, etc. Maybe the guy is driving the truck that he never uses for its intended purpose to thwart of any thoughts about his insecurities.

Oh yeah and by my post I do not mean to say that guys that drive trucks are gay, just that they might be just as much as the the guy driving a cabriolet might be.

i agree with everything you said, Fawaz. I wish Renault would have imported the R5 to the US. They were wolves in sheeps clothing. Unfortunately the US LeCar was a cute but an effieminate anemic/underpowered/unreliable rust bucket. Very much an urban beater vehicle (like the original mini). I also couldn't envision any macho straight guys wanting to be seen in one, that's why it made my list.

Before putting my head in the guillatine, I never said I wanted to OWN a Renault. In fact I suggested the cars they imported to the US were limp-wristed, testerone challenged, Liza Minelli lovin' rust buckets. Do I get a stay of execution for that? No? Oh well, c'est la vie...

Bubba I agree with what you said as well, but let me explain the way I see cars that some people label as effeminate a little better.I agree that the renault le car that was sold in N.America was a pathetic POS and I would not want to own one. Mainly bacause of the fact that I think that lecars and R5's are ugly cars, that were unreliable as hell . But wouldn't write off a car just because it was down on power alone. I personally wouldn't mind having a Citreon 2CV or a oval window webasto roof bug as a second car to drive around in the city. I think that with the canvas roof, neo-classic styling, would be a lot of fun in the summer at any trendy downtown cafe, shopping district, bistro, etc. (i.e. area like soho in NYC) you pulled up at, and i'm sure that the hot girl that you take to those places wouldn't mind the attention too much either. Keep in mind that I would still have my 240 for all the other days of the week as driving someting with 2hp would get old if I had to do it all the time.Basically i'm saying that just cus a car is down on power dosn't mean that it dosn't have style, and in some cases the lack of power is part of the charm of these cars. (going for style, and fun points with a 2hp car is ok as long as you have another car n the garage that makes up for it, LOL)p.s. glad to see that you know about cars outside good ol' merica.
