Okay, I've been wanting to get a gun, and I've been saving up for one for the past few years. I've got enough to get the following, but i can't choose which.

H&K Compact USP45 - I like it because it's compact, a .45 caliber gun and holds 10 rounds. Also very resilient to the environment. Also, H&K has the coolest accessories for them.

Kimber Custom Stainless II 45 ACP - This gun just screams menacing. It's a beautiful beautiful .45 caliber hand gun that feels really good. I've fired this a couple of times and it's just so... good. Very calming. Though it only holds 7 rounds. It's also got the Kimber name, which is just awesome.

Sig Arms P-220 45 Auto - The standard .45 caliber handgun. This thing has experience over the other two. this thing is rock solid and the accuracy is amazing on this thing. Not as menacing, but it's got an aura of almost wisdom like proportions about it.

What should I do ladies and gentlemen? I'm so torn between the three. Any comments and guidance I can get from all of you?

Remember to me the following matters:

Price - they are relatively equal in price +/- $50Caliber - Nothing less than .45 on a semi-auto for meAccuracy - No brainerMenacing aura - Gun's aren't cool unless they scare people by the look of them

i'd go with the SIG and the H&K second. i like sig just cause they're such good guns. it may not be as menacing, but it sure will kick some *** and i think thats more menacing. so your dog doesnt have a whole lot of bark, but its bite is pretty badass. much better than a dog with a lot of bark but his bite isnt as great.

I've been looking to buy as well, but I just haven't had the funds on hand. I did a lot of research, and have heard nothing bad about the H&K or the SIG. Personally, I was leaning towards buying a SIG, but a P-226 9mm. Anyway, everyone who owns a SIG seems to love 'em.

Sig's got experience and wisdom on their side. They make the best, because they've tested and trialed a lot more than most other companies.

I'd get a desert eagle, but that's $700ish more than any one of the guns I listed. Plus, desert eagles are just impractical, they're huge and you can't aim very well with one arm.

Kimber, it's a lot more gun for the money, Hi Cap is non existant anymore for the most part, it's also slimmer for easier concealment then the others. Reliability and accuracy will not be an issue at all.

and a 1911 is one of the most intimidating things to have pointed at you (shouldn't matter though, you point you better shoot)

if I were you however, I'd look into the new Tactical line, most can be had for around 800 and come with tritium night sights(a big plus if you've ever seen them, trust me, sig and h and k don't)

Don't get me wrong I love both SIG and HK, but I'd go with the Kimber if you want the most for your money. You need more then 8 shots of .45 you got a problem anyway.

if you want the ultimate in reliability and a few hundred cheaper, you can always go with a Glock, I haven't really shot one enough to comment on the trigger though (it's gonna be nothing like the sweetness that is Kimber I sure however)

i've shot a Glock 34 and i loved it. the gun was amazing and the only jam i had was on my own part. i plan on getting a handgun for person al protection and to shoot at the range and i was leaning toward the SIG P228 or a Glock 34, but i'll look into the Kimber too.

Desert Eagle - Brought to you by people who have never shot a gun.

Have you considered a weapon from CZ arms? I believe they make a .45 variation.

1) Great Point. Not real practical mostly just a movie gun2) I would never, ever, ever, buy any Czech made product for moral reasons. The Czech repulbic is more a criminal organization rarther than a country. The most evil country in the world (if there is such a thing) imagine all the wrongs of Israel and old South Africa rolled into one and then exceeded.

I don't believe the CZ guns have actually been made in czech for many decades, but from all I hear, the original production CZ 75 is a gun rivaled by few in history.

I'm a big fan of Sig 40 and .45 caliber. The HK lineup is great too. Either will make a fine hand cannon. You'll have years of reliable, trouble free shooting ahead of you.

I've put 10,000 rounds through my old SigPro(SP2340) and was considering the USP45 from HK as the Sig replacement. The HK compact would be very cool.

I don't really get the whole idea of having a menacing looking firearm. Any of your three choices can bring death swiftly.

Ask any gun shop owner, and he'll tell you to avoid the Desert Eagle, unless you want it purely for novelty. It's completely unpractical to carry and shoot. For instance, each .50 caliber(if you opt for the .50, the largest of three available calibers for the gun...357, 44, 50), anyway, each round is over $1. That is not practical, period.

yeah, good point. for $5 you can get a box of .40 ammo. and about the same for .45 handgun ammo. The DEagle looks nice, but just too impractical for everyday use. if you want a big intimidating gun, get a cougar magnum.

Piece of Junk.

Ive fired them in the .357 .40 and .50 and seen to many jams, thats using good ammo too.

My advice is any of them, They all have a great reputation as gun makers and outstanding field tests to boot.

Im partial to Kimbers myself :ylsuper

Sweet. I still want to get a Ruger Super Redhawk or a SP101.Though I still love my Glock 19. Cheap as hell to shoot ammo through it.

I personally don't like Glocks. They are too light for my taste and the 40 that I shot seemed to be very inaccurate

the first hand gun i ever shot was a Glock 34 (.40) and i kept a pretty good pattern, bout the size of a softball. i know this may not be that good, but it was my first time shooting a handgun. i thought it kept good groupings.

The Desert Eagle is more of a pet gun, it's amusing due to size, though they're supposed to be pretty accurate and some might use them in competition for silouhette with the proper set up. For big Calibers I prefer the revolver though I do love the Desert Eagles.

the Ruger SP101 rocks, you should get one Bud, very nice gun with very manageable recoil, even with the 158gr loads.

I wanna get a pair of Vaqueros in nickel with black macarta grips and .45 LC or .357 Mag:D

i always wanted a pair of nickel plated .45s with onyx handles, or something close to that, with an inlay. but, a pearl handle with my family crest would be pretty cool.
