Well the reason I care so much about the 10 rounds thing is, I'm too damned lazy to reload a clip. If I don't have to reload 2 more shots from the last one, then that's 2 more shots that I don't have to load a clip. Loading semi-auto's are the worse experience ever in my opinion. I hate doing it.

And about the menacing thing. Why do you put paint and body kits and etc. etc. on your car. I mean all it's for is to get from point a to point b, right?

try concealing a full size USP;)

that's where compact rock.

I still gotta lean towards the kimber though, for all around money's worth, it wins hands down! The USP and SIG are both very good service pistols (usp due to utter reliability, no compromise and all that:D) Accuracy, I'm betting the Kimber will out shoot both, but it's hard to say.

you just gotta have a 1911 at some point in life, everyone should. I remember a time when I didn't much care for them, then I shot one.

The 1911, I plan on getting a Colt 1911. Because... yeah, those are just damned sexy. =)

Oh and for all you people who talk about desert eagles. If I really wanted to get something with the name but actually be practical, I'd get a Baby Deagle. Compact, .45, more practical, smaller, easibly concealed, and sexy to boot.

Yeah this isn't for after the speech is it? Well anyways correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the H&K automatically put one in the chamber if you slam the clip in.

no gun will automatically chamber when you insert the clip, not even if its slide is locked back (unless something broke)

Berreta is ok, but not my first choice

I also wouldn't go with Colt either, for the price, all your buying is the name.

can't really argue there, it'll punch through a car door with ease.

it seems to be the new "in" load, I expect to see it around for a long time.

ballistics on par with the Magnum and the capacity and size of a .40 cal auto makes for a winner.

the secret service and air marhalls use them for a reason. (well, think SS uses Glock and the Marshalls use the 228.)

seems to be a big case of morons with guns for the most part.

notice how the calibers it's happened the most in are 10mm and .45 (commonly reloaded, apparently way too hot) and .40 cal can have the nose of the bullet pushed in which will jack up the pressure A LOT. Using fresh factory ammo, those guns give no problems, harldy ever. The slight gap in the chamber is to ensure proper reliable feeding every time. That's honestly the first I've heard of a Glock doing that. We've got a good bit of Glock owners on here that'll probably have some imput.

remember kids, if you're gonna load hot ammo, use fresh brass:)

Okay, a topic I am fully into. (I did not read all of the replys.) I have not personally shot these firearms.

First the Kimber. A friend of mine had one that he used as his carry gun when he was working in Narcs. It was great gun. And as he put it, when I asked about the 7 shots. "I only need two, and the second is just to make sure." I would have had this pistol if I would have had the cash when hunting season came in. He usually only keeps them a year if that long. Then time to sell them for something easier to kill Bamby with.

Just personal choice, HK over the Sig. I happen to be a Ruger man myself. I have never had a moments problem with them and they are far cheaper. Two 9mm's(p85, P95DC), .38 special Speed Six, and my Super Blackhawk .44 .

I am actually looking for a Single action revolver. .22 mag or 32 H&R mag, Single six.

18's do indeed rock, they shoot too fast to be practical whatsoever though:D 1300rpm is just too much for a pistol!

that being said I want one really bad:D

9mm will penetrate more then a .45 with less knockdown power.

it's becoming a dying breed. Especially with .40S&W and .357Sig here. The military will most likely jump to a small caliber bottle neck round that's got AP capability for the next gen sidearm, probably something like the Five seveN or an HK PDW.

Go with a round that's more accurate than the .45. You don't need a caliber that large for self defense. Don't make the mistake of getting a gun/caliber that makes you feel more like a man. You'll be more inclined to do something stupid. I hear some people have accuracy problems with the .45. The .357 9mm and the .40S&W are all very accurate rounds and have plenty of stopping power. You'll want to carry hollow points, otherwise you'll just rip through your target without affecting it as much as you should. For example if you drop a .45 round in someone it could go right through them, through the wall and into a family member or innocent by-stander. You drop a hollow point in somone in any of the calibers listed above...including the .45 you'll probably take them off their feet.

accuracy problems if you can't handle the gun of course, I'd recommend going out to a range and renting some.

I find the .45 to be a very accurate round with a good gun.

but I also find the .44 mag to be very accurate for me with as rapid fire as I can get with the sucker:D

you want hollow points with any carry gun, fmj is not a good idea even though they feed very good.

Federal has a new expanding FMJ that'll hopefully take care of this though I'm not sure if it's been street proven yet.

a .45 probably won't take they're legs out from under them but hell, who cares if it does, you want them down anyway right?

Well I've never done this myself :) but I hear that a .40S&W will take someone off their feet. Now it won't be hollywood with them going flying through the air, but the point is it has plenty of stopping power. Another qualification is that it does depend on the gun and the shooter with the kind of accuracy that you get with any caliber. And anytime you're talking accuracy its usually on a paper target. A human is plenty big enough to hit with virtually any caliber at a self-defense range. If you're shooting at someone who's 50 feet or more away, you're gonna go to jail, because that ain't self defense!

sure it is, 25 yards is the common combat range associated with pistols, and that's 75 feet.

they can be 200 yards and pointing a shotgun, it's still self defense, being that your life is in danger.

i'm pretty good with .45's up to about 30 yards. Which is plenty enough.

I think I might just go with the Baby Deagle though after looking through all of them. 1.) because of the name, yes I'm a consumer whore. 2.) they are top-notch and beautiful. 3.) Cheaper than the other three. 4.) Way sexy.

Though I've never actually handled one myself, I'm going to find one to use before I throw down $500 for one. But the other three will still be in consideration.

Fabrique Nationale, more commonly known as FN.

it and the P90 were introduced back in the late 90's

don't let CS fool you on those two though. They've got great knockdown power and the P90 is very accurate and controllable.

back when some T's got a hold of hte Peru embassy, the leader was dropped like a sack of **** with one round through his body armor courtesy a CT and a P90.

there was one hostage death from that incident I think:(

no can do hoss, they're a military/LE weapon only, many may argue about the wrong doings of this, but I don't see much need for us to have armor peircing hi cap handguns and SMG's

I do however like hi cap guns and folding stocks and was saddened when they passed the damn assault weapon ban again:(

I gotcha all beat- A Bulgarian Makarov 9mm. Looks like James Bond's Walther, easy conceal, now if I could just get it to shoot where I aim it! Well, it was only 190.00, and ammo is cheap. If you want acurracy, get a 12ga pump gun. It will hit everything.

Alright I guess my post earlier was misleading. I do know for a fact that an H&K USP40 will automatically load one in the chamber when you insert the clip with force. My brother owns one and I saw him do it about a month ago when I was home. I was drunk when I saw it but when I called him and he confirmed it.
