*sigh* i'm a post whore, so I'll answer the question. Exhaust depends on what you want out of it. If you plan to go turbo, get a bigger exhaust, like 3" (A'pexi N1, Blitz NUR Spec, 5Zigen Fireball), but if you decide to stay Naturally Aspirated, stick with something around 2.5" (Tanabe Medallion Spec, HKS Hiper, HKS Sport, GReddy, etc).

I have the HKS Hiper, and it's fukin great. It isn't too loud, but you always hear it. It adds great gains all throughout my powerband, and its one of the best sounding exhausts, bar none. No joke, kids. It was worth every single red cent I payed for it.

Nick.

P.S. A ricer is someone who follows fads set by companies like APC, that make products like cheap, ugly altezza lights, large wings, distasteful body kits, etc. A ricer also typically has a certain state of mind. They believe that their car is the sh*t, when usually its a peice of sh*t. They tend to mis-badge cars. Example: Some kid has a green neon with a GT-R badge on it. I have yet to pull up to him at a stoplight, and when I do, you better believe i'm gonna ***** him out. And then hand his *** to him.

Wow, that's a good definition. I'm gonna write that down.

hehe.. Sometimes you'd be surprised. I was with my friend in his 1992 Mustang GT and we pulled up next to this riced Saturn with a SIR emblem (honda) we reved on him then when the light turned green he smoked the **** out of us. The mustang runs 14.7 and he pulled about 4 cars by 60 so must be around 14.0 or so. I don't know what he had under the hood. But it was fast.

I am fixing to get Greddy SP catback exhaust. In my personal opinion it's very cool. It's not too raspy and has a nice sport exhaust sound to it, and looks great.

I hope I was of some help, good luck in your search!:)

Yours truly,~Marshall

The Apexi N1 Dual is just about the most expensive exhaust you can get...... but it is SOOOOO worth it. It has a low profile and sounds very mellow. When you start the car up it sounds like you've got a small V8 under the hood. It improves mid-range pull, and high-end gets a nice improvement as well. There is no loss in low end that you would see with other 2.5" or 3" exhausts. The install was very easy (once we cut the studs off of the cat and drilled new holes.... freakin rusted stock garbage!) and the fit is perfect.

Apexi N1 Dual.... discrete looks.... not too loud.... excellent performance gains for a cat-back.

I've seen the Dual N1 for like 499. I think that's a compeditive price. That's what i'm gonna get as soon as I get some money.

There is something I didn't realize about the N1 dual when I bought it. On the s14... it comes out of the back at an upward/driverside angle. It looks great, and the pipes are very straight as a result. It doesn't look out of place..... mine cost $509 plus shipping from Heavy Throttle... it ended up being $564 total.... a little pricey, but I couldn't find one locally, everybody had them on back order.

Thats very incorrect :)

Compared to a JIC titanium exhaust, it is pocket change....(there are about 24-30 more expensive exhaust than the apexi, fyi)

The silvia tuning guide has over 35 exhaust systems for the 180sx/silvia/240 applications :D

OK... busted!

I guess I should have been more specific! Of all the brands and models I considered "REALISTIC" the Apexi was the most expensive by about $50 to $100. I'm sure there are several others out there that cost MUCH more... but judging by the original question I don't think this member (or myself for that matter) would have ANY use for something beyond this type of exhaust. And.... at some point it become completely rediculous to pay so much for an exhaust... I mean really..... :rolleyes

whatever you do, do not get the n1 duals for your 240 or i will have to hunt your car down and put some .45 caliber bullet holes in your exhaust with my gun :D

Ok... I already did... come and get me!! Would you care to elaborate? Why not the Apexi?

I'm still gonna argue with you Maine, for all the "standard" exhausts, the apexi units are 50-100 cheaper. The Greddy and HKS are both like 100 more expensive, and the 5Zigens and Blitzs are like 200 more. : )

yeh why do you think the n1 duals are bad. I think the look of the dual is better then a huge coffe can .

WOW... that sucks that someone would be willing to fork over $760 for a 5zigen or Blitz... not that those choices are junk... but that's just outlandish. The shop that I went to at first, had the GRedd SP for $450.... I'm sure there are more expensive ones out there..... that's obvious.... but how much is too much I guess. I stand corrected... OUT OF ALL OF THE CHOICES I LOOKED INTO.. THE APEXI WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE!!! didn't mean to cause such a debate! ;) I'll chose more appropriate verbage next time.

I might get HKS Hiper. My bro has Lexus IS300 and has HKS Hiper catback, it sounds really good. little pricy but HKS is a good company. So, I'm gonna try to get it cheap, if I find one.

Hehe, nah, I'm not jumping on you Maine. I still love you man. : ) Also, the SP would be more comparable to the N1 Single. : ) And then the N1 Single beats it by about 50-60 dollars. : ) What I meant was comparable exhausts to the N1 Dual ran significantly more. However, not even in the realm of the titaniums and stuff like that. : ) Don't worry Greg, I still think you're a good person. =P

Does it sound ricey like a pissed off bumblebee, or does it have a deep tone... or somewhere in the middle?
