s13jus10 wrote:It REALLY is COD4 with different weapons, new maps, and a whole bunch of add-ons;- online-coop campaign,- splitscreen campaign - Nazi Zombie mode (which btw is AWESOME), a new "Death Card" system (which is similar to the Halo Skull system), - vehicles, it's got all the perks from COD4 and adds on about a dozen new ones (including vehicle perks).. the list goes on. Not to mention everything's a little more realistic; you can tag someone anywhere on their body other than limbs with a sniper rifle and almost every single time, they'll die with one hit. Oh yeah, and when you play Campaign mode, all of your kills and points will transfer over to your multiplayer profile The story in Campaign mode isn't as strong as the story in COD4, but it definitely meets the same extreme intensity level. AI isn't the smartest in the world, but the difficulty level you're playing on reflects their actions (or non-actions). Multiplayer is amazing. It's as fast and smooth as ever. Everything just feels right. People die when they're supposed to.. all the sounds and gunfires just feel right. Everything COD4 offers is here (except the weapons of course) and more. Even without any of the .50cal rifles, or the shiny golden Desert Eagles, COD5's weapons can easily substitute any/all of your favorite guns/perks. And yes, there are substitutes for the Red Dot Sight, ACOG scope and sniper rifle scopes in the game. It's not all ironsights like everyone thinks
You may just be biased against Treyarch or WWII shooters in general, but trust me when I say this game is everything COD4 was and more. This game simply can NOT be missed. Anyone who refuses even to try the game is just ignorant and stupid.
and oh yeah, it got a 9.2/10 on IGN
Nice write up =)
I played a little online today. It was hardcore and there was a crap load of camping
The spawning engine is still ****. Horrible job with that. I ended up getting spawned in front of two enemies and behind one enemy that happend to be stareing at me.My little brother sniped a someone who had just "popped" into the screen. I was discussed. If you take online seriously then this is a joke...
The movements do seem much more realistic though. Also I absolutley LOVE the maps for COD5...- Diffrent elevations- Natural settings- Beautiful graphics
And I am glad to see that they utilize the BDSs (Black Dot Sights) and ACOGs.
I do like the coop playing features because its diffrent and cool. Its not the reason I buy COD5 over GOW2 but its a neat feature also the campain points crossing over to multiplayer is neat too (its kinda like auto windshield whipers)
Vehicles are annoying but you will get used to it I guess.
IGN gives it a 9.2 then heck its definitly worth a try! So far for ME anyway the game isn't worth my $60

I accually don't like the way the guns fire, but how do you know if they sound "right"?
Did you at one point in your life serve under Stalin?
