they are hankooks icebear w300, really good traction and pretty much brand new

bought it 1 month before nissan decided to buy my car back.

interested in buying it?
The winter wheels/tires that I bought used (off a guy's RX8 actually!) are icebear w300's...and damn do they suck! That being said, they've also got about four years on them I believe. I've always heard really good reviews about them though. I really need to get mine replaced before I take my trip over to BC this winter!So...what size are they and how much do you want for them?

Fifty: Where'd you get your X-Ice's from (and how much!)?

I bought them off some guy on kijiji for $350. One season old, they were put on a Mazda 3, lot's of tread left! So I think I got the better end of the deal

But search up on kijiji, there's lot's for sale.

ESP!!!! dont take your coupe to B.C. I would personally fear for your life.... I beg you, take a rental. The snowy passes are just asking for trouble...... any how if you choose to go anywayyyy get some top notch tires and drive safe...

On another note: I dont know what the weight difference between the 3.5 & 2.5 but I have a theory.... I think the 2.5's handle worse on winter roads because they engines are lighter/ and possibly the wrong weight distribution (not enough over the front wheels). Just my theory, only because it seems like ppl with the 3.5 claim there cars are awesome in the snow, and I feel the opposite. My last car was a beast to be reckoned with, makes me wish I kept it for a beater

hmm for my tires, its 225/50/17, it fits on the 3.5 rims, but instead of 55, its 50, slightly thinner, but pretty much the same

im about to sell them for 650, paid 850 in late october

Good insight, it's likely true. All I know is that I get nervous driving right now

Awww thanks Lanaya! I've talked it out with my folks though, and if the roads are looking pretty bad then I'll just wait a little bit longer before I head out. I just picked up a used set of X-Ice so we'll see how that goes.

...on that note...Fifty, how's your car handling with the Michelins? Have you even gotten them on yet? haha!

From what I've gathered, there's an 8 week minimum waiting period to get winter tires because of the whole Quebec thing. I think that as soon as I get back from BC I'll be putting an order in for a set of Hankook w409's! Those'll be monstrous in our snow/slush/ice/generalized frozen crap.

ESP, as a matter of fact I have got them on! They handle pretty good. Not a HUGE difference but I feel safer. I guess you really can't get anything to help you on the black ice, but in snow/slush/whatever else there is they work awesome!

Whoa. Over the last two days I swapped out the nearly bald Hankook Icebear w400's (which I thought were bad) and replaced them with the stock ContiProContacts...now THAT was some scary stuff!!! Then, just yesterday, I got some used (about 60% left) Michelin X-Ice's put on my stocker rims.

...the difference is phenomenal. Even at half their lifespan those tires grip like crazy! Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the A/C is a fantastic winter vehicle. It still handles like a pig, but now I'm no longer afraid to take it to BC this winter! I'm looking forward to seeing how the Hankook w409's stack up to this!

BTW...Lanaya, did you get a winter beater this year or are you braving the winter roads in your coupe?

I am braving it with my coupe..... I do have some ridiculously beefy nokian hakkapalitas RSI's on my car, they were about 250 bucks a tire but they are rated as one of the best (tested in iceland) I have to say I am definitely more confident this winter, because now Im used to the steering and I know how it reacts around corners etc. not confident enough to take it on a trip to BC though Calgary sure has dropped the ball on taking care of the roads! I have to take 52nd to get to work and its sheer ice, Ive had to brake a few times and literally slid 7 car lengths. On roads like that there is NO tire thats good enough. It would be nice to have a junker for the winter....the kind that if some one smashed into you, you just grabbed your purse out of it and walked away hahaha

Merry ChristmasAnd Happy new years. As for handling in the snow i just have the stock rubber on my 3.5 and i find it handles pretty good for all season tires. So the weight difference might have something to do with it. We gotta get a meet going for spring time. I wanna finally get out and see everyones rides

...you mean like we were trying to do all summer long?

BTW, other than my own, I've only seen one other coupe in the city that's been modded. It was a grey one with the full Stillen kit. Fully debadged except for where the rear burger usually is he had a chrome dragon...that was a few months ago...

i'd love to get that exhaust off you but my gf would kill me.. she hates loud exhausts, eg. i had a civic with a bit of a fart can on it. is the exhaust for the I4 or V6? Anyone up for a meet this weekend? just to finally get one together... maybe get better results for meets later on?? say chinook center or something

I now see you have a v6.. NM

PS hey miss_lanaya dont mean to sound creepy but were you at chinook on sunday? i thought i saw your car...?

Thats a good plan, I go to wash my car its dirty before i get to the street. damn black cars, I really like the white coupes too. What do you people think would be better... front lip or splitter, i'm torn between the 2.. also want to lower it so thats a factor too.

hmmmm, I like the splitter more than the lip, and not too many ppl have done that mod so i would be more unique. Im trying to talk my dad into painting the front fascia, rockers and rear corners for my b day....but he doesnt think that front fascia looks good with the big *** gap in the front that leaves all your parts exposed.....its a tough debate....and im losing

Nope I havent bought it yet, if I can get my dad to paint it and install it, then I will be purchasing it. My pa does custom restorations at H&R collision in abbotsford BC. So my plan was to have it shipped directly to H&R and then as an added bonus to him, I would come and visit . But like I said hes not sold on the front fascia, last night I sent him a pic of kevin doyles car (white with red accents) hoping he would see it looks sick!! so we'll see if I can convince him its awesome!! I'll keep you guys posted

easiest thing to do about the gaps is just put blacked out wire mesh behind to protect your rad and stuff. if that was the problem??
