If they work for you, that's good though....
Same thing for a rally car, single diagonal door bars would never pass tech.

My race car is sitting at the cage builders right now, should be back in 2 1/2 weeks. I will post up pictures.

I should mention that this will likely be one of the beefiest cages you will see. This will be full F.I.A. spec cage, and it will not allow for any interior, save for a very trimmed dash.
Nobody better say anything about it being an ebay special and it is not good quality because it is from ebay. This cage has passed tech at my local road track and passes the 10.01 to 10.99 e.t requirements at the drag strip. It fit perfectly with all the right notches and bends in the right places. It was tig welded in and the only thing I changed was the mounting location of the rear bars. They originally went to the rear below the taillights, but I wanted to beef up the rear towers. Plus my nitrous bottle and battery were already back there. This kit can also come as a 10 point, but I am not sure if it is a over or under dash design.

https://forum-attachments.sfo2.digital ... jpg
If your running a bar welded between the strut towers then would could possibly be the point of running a ebay bolt on brace? wtf.

It you notice the top of the strut tower is a separate piece spot welded to the lower sheet metal. The welded in cross bar does not directly reinforce the top of the strut tower bucket, but the bar mounting plate does give a little support that would otherwise not be there. I still noticed a slight movement in the tops of the buckets when I jacked up the car, most likely because of the 2 stud mounting system. So I purchased the strut tower brace from a local 240sx part out for $5. After installing just the 1/8th" thick mounting plates there was a measurable change in the movement and flex of the rear sheet metal from the weight shift on the suspension. So I then installed the crossbar and tightened it down. Much didn't change after that, but I just left it in. It has been that way for the last 2 years and I just haven't given it much thought.

So for the little gain in rigidity versus the cost, I feel it was worth it compared to buying a big name brand bar to receive the same thickness mounting plate.

How so, quality? Or Location?

I am 6'4" and oddly enough the bar makes a good elbow rest. It is at the lowest point I could have it intersect my shoulder to elbow zone to be NHRA legal. I don't drift, but I road and drag race and I have not even hit my elbow on it once, even when doing donuts or sliding sideways in a closed industrial park.

The reason I added this to the list for the OP was because it is a tech friendly, affordable weld in kit like he wanted. He could always modify the mounting location of the door bar that qualifies for what he wants to do.
If it doesn't bother you, then ALL GOOD.enjoy.

Really?

That would seem counter intuitive. The strut towers need more support than most other parts of the body, and it also helps lock the firewall into the cage.

I already linked their ebay auction stuff on the first page. I thought it was a myth, but lumberjacks do build the best cages.
