It supposedly supports the top piece of the frame on the stock front fascia. Basically just an engineering brainfart from the Nissan design team...

Hear is the write up I did on replaceing the support bar.

It is in the How To stickyhttp://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=368327

Any further questions just email me.

As far as this grill is concerned i am not really diggin it. I like the T-Rex better and looks to be better quality. Not a single piece of plastic on it. But it will look alot better if you color match that black mustache and get rid of that discusting support bar. My DIY bar has been holding up perfectly, hasnt given me a single problem. But good luck

Do it Modesty you know you want to. It'll tie it in so much better. IMO - but that's just me - I like the whole clean and seamless look.

Much better since the support is blacked out.

i think there was a blue coupe that had this grill on here and i think there were pretty big gaps along the side and the top. i think this grill would only look like it fits "right" on a darker altima so the gaps are not as visible. i wonder how much the gaps will show on your white coupe.

Dude, it's pretty simple. If you can take off the bumper, you can take off the grille... I believe you have to take the damn moustache off first though.

Bumper removal is necessary. It's easy though...just follow the DIY article for removal and you'll be fine.

I have a super black car as well, but after installing the grill the support bar still kind of stands out. After looking at your photos i couldn't really see the support bar so was wondering if you did any extra modifications to get that clean look.

Thanks

Nope...didn't touch my support bar at all. I think what makes the biggest difference is having the mesh painted white...did you do that or leave it black?

I didnt do anything to the support bar, but the mesh is still black. I just thought you might of painted the radiator black like someone else suggested to have it blend in better... the support bar just kinda stands out in front of the radiator..

I think if you painted the mesh a lighter colour it would hide the support bar more. I might end up painting my radiator black though because in certain kinds of light my support bar is partially visible...

Well I just bought the C-Mod Mesh Grille for myself, along with the Stillen Roof Wing (It's 30% off right now guys, $158 can't go wrong).

I have a Precision Grey, so I will let you guys know how it looks after I've gotten it painted. I'm intending on blacking out my support bracket so as not to be as noticeable. Once it's done, I'll post pics. May be 2 weeks till then...

I was also considering painting the support bracket to blend in with the aluminum radiator. On the other hand is is pretty easy to paint the radiator black to match the support bracket? But the black support bracket seems like it would stand out anyways cause of the paint, could be better if it was matte black.

Worse case scenario put the burger in front of the support bar to hide it...

WoW, looks like I may be waiting a long time for my C-Mod Mesh Grille. I know the company is from Canada, so I thought the product would be shipping from there, but apparently I checked USPS today and I got this....

How long did it take you guys who've already gotten their grille to receive it from the time you ordered?

I ordered mine on July 22 and it came in on Aug 1. When I was tracking the shipment once it arrived in customs in San Fransisco it didn't give me any more info until Aug 3 because it had been at my post office for two days and I didn't know it. So I would say about 10 days from the time you ordered.

Looks like my Grille is in NY now, hopefully I should have it tomorrow, and my Stillen Roof Wing is being delivered today.

nope, no drilling. Just some screws and pop-up tabs to get the bumper off, then its just a matter of popping the grille in place

Finally got my C-Mod Mesh Grille today! After looking at it after opening up the box, I'm honestly not very impressive with its design. The mesh wire kid just is bent around the back side of the fiberglass framing and has some little metal clips holding it in 4 places. I can take pics if you guys want. But went you push in on the mesh with your hand it moves more than I like. Doesn't feel very sturdy. I will be probably going to try and get it painted this weekend along with my Stillen Roof Wing (I got it yesterday). Once it's been painted and installed I will definitely be taking pictures. Should have them posted by Monday.

Well how else would you want them to attach the mesh? The mesh underneath my ViS Racing hood it attached in the same fashion, and all other mesh grilles I've seen use the same method. I like it this way because if you want to remove your mesh to paint it/change it for a different pattern it's easy and there's no cutting involved.

As for the "sturdiness", I haven't had any such problems with mine...

...regardless, I'm looking forward to your pics of it painted!

I understand what you're saying. I guess maybe just some more clips, or sturdier clips would have been better. I'm not going to complain too much till I see the final product on my car. I just spoke to my mechanic, he's going to fit me in on Saturday to get it done, so you guys should see pics soon.
