has anyone upgraded the tubes that go from the block to the T on the head with SS. if so where did you get the stuff to do it. i am getting an after market catch can. and i will put it inbetween the intake and the T but with my new manifold i think the stock ruber hose will melt and i dont want to do some cheesy tin foil wrapping.

I know what AN line is but -10? Is that a size? and if so I would say a 6AN would do it.

yes, it's a size for fittings and hose.

It's SS covered rubber hose, much like SS brake lines. They should know if Napa sells it (can't remember), but -6 AN is too small. Use the -10 and get a small piece to make sure it fits properly before buying too much of it.

keep in mind this price is for 20 feet.

negative. Put the can in between the block and the T like the factory can is. A good place to locate the can to keep lines short is over by the clutch master cylinder (if your can will fit that is)

aw. yea well that is whati was thinking i new that was the stock location but i didnt know how to do it wil the tubes runing over my manifold. i checked out that link and yea that will be nice and work well. use that instead of the tubing that comes with the catch can. i am planing on a circuit sport mini catch can. it says all fitting sizes are 15 mm for the sr20. http://phase2motorsports.store....html

I'm not sure what size that is in AN. Call summit racing up, they should be able to tell you what is the closest AN size.

ok one more question about this, i know the stock catchcan goes between the block and the head, but if i put it on the other side of the T then it would keep stuff from getting into my intake, which doesnt seems liek it could be good.

There's about 1 post a day about this. The consensus is that stock catch can position is best. If I understand correctly it's because the only time oil will come out of the T is during vacuum, in which case it will get sucked away from the intake into the block. Hopefully someone can verify that cuz I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, I got screwed to the tune of ~$2400 in labor and taxes by a "pro" shop. I guess more like $2k really though as I didn't pay for shipping charges on parts and their parts prices were really competitive.

Yeah, machining and tuning needs to be left to pros, but make da*n sure they know what they are doing.

Ok, I always see different ways to hook up aftermarket catchcans...what is the proper way? Remover the stock one also? Im assuming thats what that black box thing is in this picture?

The black box is the factory catch can, if you are putting in an aftermarket can, remove the factory can and put the new one in its place. The only real benefit of the aftermarket one is that it does not dump the oil back into the crankcase, it holds it in the can until you drain it manually, therefore keeping your oil cleaner
