I am glad that Godspeed works for you guys, but when I hear a couple of bad things about a companies products it deters me. I hate having even a chance of failure, but if it works for you then cool beans man.

Cant believe that lower control arm...

sooooooo, I'm sure you heard about the SPL arms, first round of the V3 arms, cracking and getting stress fractures and snapping under daily driving conditions?

Godspeed = 1SPL = 0

it's in a S14 build thread on a local forum....

some of the high points....

I smashed some more stuff and now I dont rub anymore.

Oh, and my RUCA's have stress cracks in them again. Time for some new ones.
mewantkouki;7172458 wrote:^ the spl rucas? If so are they warrantied?
+Waldo+;7173621 wrote:thats nuts its happened twice now...

dan you just drive yo s*** hard ;P
LongFellow;7173711 wrote:I think I got some of the old ones again. I dont know it was over a 1.5 years ago the last time it happend. I'll find out whats up when I e-mail them.

This time they havent actually split like before, but there are stress cracks on the middle of the tube.
LongFellow;7175733 wrote:Yeah the part didnt fail completely the first time and I could of kept driving on them for a long time after with out having any real issues with it. They've had one batch of ruca's that have had problems with cracking in which they sent out replacement arms to everyone that they knew had bought them from that batch. I was the first person to have the problem and notify them and I'm pretty sure I might have gotten sent new arms accidentally from the same batch. Even if they didnt break, right now the one RUCA has slight surface cracks and for all I know it might just be the chrome plating but I dont feel like running the risk so instead I plan on using my awesome warranty and getting new replacement arms for free.

I buy from SPL for their quality as well as their customer service. I didnt get knocked off any pedestal. SPL is still the best suspension arm company out there. I've never once heard of anyone having a complete part failure with SPL. And only 4 people have actually had the same problem I've had with one specific part.

So stop trying to cause drama, since you dont really know anything about the subject.
Blackzenki82;7175753 wrote:Tim, i'm not on a quest, i know my suspension's not the best out there... how many times do i have to say that??? here, one more time.... my suspension is not the best, and in all likelyhood, will break loooong before any SPL part does, hopefully you can finally get that through your skull...

and dan, not trying to start drama either, nor was i say you got knocked of a pedestal, i said SPL did... as much as Tim, and "the like" praise SPL for thier greatness, and how it's so totally the best thing since sliced bread, i thought it was extremely amusing that here you are having a problem with your SPL stuff splitting and cracking on multiple arms, within a 1.5 year period...

that being said, i would STILL run SPL any day over the week, especially compared to what i have, and i feel bad your s*** is failing, cause it means the cars going to have some down time, need an alignment, etc etc, and that's gotta suck for you, i know it would me...

well small update....

I'm upgrading the tow b****, yet at the same time, downgrading.. i needed something that towed my car a little better, i noticed that the 4.8L V8 in the black truck was a bit sluggish, and straining on the hills, and on ramps... and i've been worried about pushing it too hard...

so, I'm trading it tomorrow for an older truck (1997 vs my current 1999), at has a s*** ton more power and gobs of tq for towing, as 2010 is going to be a big big year for me as far as drifting goes, and i'll be getting my own trailer, and towing my car to ALL events, even the local ones, so i don't have to worry about breaking down and paying hefty tow bills... that, and this truck get's better gas mileage, towing, and empty, than my current 99 4.8L, so wooo hooo!!

here it is...

1997 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 6.5L TURBO diesel, crew cab, 130K, and my favorite, DUALLY (and 2wd so i can slam it!).... all power options, leather seats, heat, AC, all that s***...

i've been wanting one of these since i could drive, back then, for the looks, now, for the looks and the tow capacity!

plans for this rig include either a 4/6 or 5/6 static drop, with rear bags to help with towing, repainting it black (jams and all), 4" exhaust, chip, and upgraded turbo and/or more boost... DONE....

can't wait, getting it tomorrow, should prove to be the best tow rig for what I'm doing!

now to get a trailer..... s*** just got serious.

Thank you for actually spending time on production!!!!

Good music, good filters, nice shots, awesome driving for the time you've been behind the wheel.Definitely stands out from the shoot n' dump majority of "drift videos" out there at the "here's the link on my forum" level. I'd go as far as to say it's damn near pro.

Proceed, sir. Proceed.

EDIT: Coupe will be hot. HOT.

Sweetness. Get an intercooler if you upgrade the turbo on that thing. It'll be more rewarding.

Now THAT is a truck! Pretty much my definition of a tow rig too man! 1990's truck... When the body panels were still all metal! You picked the best one Urghhh I can't believe I'm kinda jealous over a truck haha! I love 240s but it must be nice to have a sick(er) towing rig now! Well done vid, subscribeddd. I like this thread yes.

After spending +4 hours reading every post in this thread, I feel like I've quadrupled the amount of information I previously knew about 240s. Your work ethic, your swindling, your knowledge of zenkis (btw my first car was a black 95 zenki), it's all very overwhelming. Just from the attention you drew regarding your car, you got people interested in the building of your own house! on a 240sx forum! I even read all those parts and I otherwise wouldn't have any interest in such a thing!

I love how you've gone through so many different cars in the last few years and it makes me want to hunt for the kinda deals you get. That truck you got for like $2500 with subs and the TV screens in the headrests was awesome lol.

and don't hate on the 18 y/o drifters trying to learn their boundaries in this relatively new sport. I'm 19 with only a few months experience but imagine how good I'll be when I'm your age :P

anyways, thanks for all the inspiration!
