here's the update..... SEKZ!!!!! my new SWEET SHWINN BEACH CRUISER!!!!! 7 SPEEDS OF FURY!!!!

i'm joking, for real!!!! here's the "EPIC" update!!!

so let's start from the top!!

yeah i work in the rain.... got the rear on, and OH NOES, the front needed 8mm spacers! my girl went into town and got a set for me YAY!!!BRAND NEW IN THE BOX!!!! just got back from the tire place...

installed... PIC WHORE TIME!!!

finished!!

these are the Rota P45R's in gold of course

specs on wheels-18x9.5+30 w/8mm spacers up front (yeah i know, i'm not a fitment whore anyways)

specs on tires-

Riken Raptors- been with me since my first black car.. made my Michelin, great tires!!225/40/ZR18AA tractionsummer tires

i personally think it looks GREAT... the black on gold looks great to me... i wish i would go just about 1/2 lower all the way around. I'll prob also be getting 10mm spacers for the rear, just to bring them out a tad, and get my camber to OEM specs, that should pretty much elminate the "gap" between the tire and the lip...

oh, and what makes them so EPIC? i got the set, brand new in the box, for just $600, yeah 6 hundo... not bad if i don't say so myself... these Rotas are one of the top three designs of wheels that i like, and i've been drooling over them for the last year and a half, but not being able to fork over the $800-$1000 for a set... they're knock offs of the Nismo LMGT4's, which is my favorite design, so i get the best of both worlds...

now everyone that says "get some decent wheels" can STFU lol, i kid, i kid...

A-O-K NUMBER 1!

Look at those p**** a** brakes!

See I'm talking about 9.5j wheels with a offset in the teens and you're like ew and "mexi" and all this B.S. and in the end you get e30's and space them. Whuwhat!?

I'm pretty excited for you right now haha. Looks awesome as f***.

thanks ryan!!! maybe once you get the red dragon running you can come over and we'll test fit them on your car... i think the gold would look sweet on that ruby color of your hatch.. plus, i wanna see what they look like with a full set of Z brakes behind them!!

not bad at all, i like. this is the first time im seeing the p45rs on an s14 and my first time seeing them in gold. they work well on your car but imo im not a huge gold fan. idk it looks too light for me. maybe its just me though, but i've been planning for months to get those exact wheels but in sport bronze and 17x9.5 +12 all around. so basically like i've been saying we're building our cars very similarly, you just beat me to the wheels. it's ok though i beat you to the turbo

or did you?

^^ that's what's in my other S14 that's waiting to go in this one... should be in next weekend... est whp=280ish, before nistune, injectors, and FReddy intake

as far as the wheel color, i didn't have much of a choice, it's what the guy selling them had... if i had to choose, i would go with the bronze as well... all day, but the gold isn't THAT bad on this car... if all else fails i'll put some "smoke" on em to darken em up a bit...

if i had to choose, i would go with 18x9.5 all around, with the +12's in the rear, and the +20's in the font, as the +30's hit the coils, and need a 8mm spacer...

thanks for all your comments guys!! i think, with the exception of some Navan aero, the outside is prettu much DONE... now to get my SR and parts on in there.... then it will be perfect, daily driven 330hp 240 with AC, heat, PS, and CC.... i can't wait!!!

GT30 will be in my deck of cards soon enough i have a feeling... three years with SR's eh? cool deal man... like 6 months for me lolol... i'm a noob, but all i ever do is work on this motor, and work on the car, so i've learned A LOT in a short amount of time...

I LOVE P45Rs! I plan to put them on my car, when I get some monies I think the gold is a little too intense for a black car, but if you like it then thats all that counts

Keep it coming

i think it's a little loud for my tastes as well, but i got them second hand new in the box, and it's not like i could have picked the color, given the choice, i would have gone with the Bronze... and they're they same color as those sportmaxx/XXR 962's that everyone's rocking..

also, this gold in comparison to the hot pink, neon green, and takata greens i've seen isn't all THAT bad lol

thanks guys!!! i'm really happy that i have a car that i can finally feel good in... it's awesome.... and more progress coming soon, as the SR goes in this weekend... not like tomorrow, but i'll be starting one week from today... WOOT WOOT!!!

So.... i got to see the wheels in sunlight for the first time today... and they're not as yellow as they look in the pics.... they're more of a brass/darker gold color, which pleases me to no end, as in the pics, it looks really bright gold...

BUT, I'm still hitting my coilovers, but only when i turn left or right, i guess it's that slight bit of hard cornering wheel flex... either way, the 5/16 spacers are too thin, so on the way home, i grabbed some 7/16 spacers from Rollins Automotive (local Chevy/ford performance/hot rod/dyno shop)... so hopefully when the rain stops, i can get out there...

i'll be putting the 7/16 spacers up front, and i guess i'll take the 5/16 spacers, and slip them on the rear, hopefully, that should eliminate any clearance issues i have up front, and i can be completely done with my foot work.... at least till i burn these tires up sor i can get some proper fitting tires....

i think what helps with the 962s is that the polished lip breaks it up a little

yeah, i know, i'm not trying to defend the color by any means, as it's not one i would choose, BUT it is a few shades darker now that i see in in sunlight... almost has a copper tone to it...

a few parts came in today, i pulled off the cat back to figure out what kind it is, and i pulled the diff to see if it was a true VLSD...

so a few pics!!

"where we're going, we don't need roads!"the cat back my 3.5" JDM (not USDM) APEXi N1 one piece, kinda dirty right now, but will be cleaned before install in the new car......the diff is out...no orange sticker? NO PROLEM, VLSD!!!660cc injectors, and FReddy intake manifold (now painted black with three coats of clear)

that's all for now.... sorry, not much i know... but the weather has been b**** here in gainesville FL...

well guys, some updates... i'll keep the story short...

i ordered a few parts, should be here soon..

Kai Project 1 piece clutch master to slave line (tuckin it!!)new OEM SR20DET injector rings for the 660's

and a couple other things i forgot... anyways, i got SOME work done today, i got my FReddy manifold painted, with like 4-5 coats of clear (rattle can job, but looks good).. and i pulled my GRID tuned ECU (for sale!!) and my SR harness out and began work on that... i'm working on a tuck, extended injector wires, and the like... but i fail like a noob and ran out of electrical tape.. either way, pics!!!!

harness pulled... looks weird without the rats nest there.... filthy s***ty engine bay....got the harness out... i hope it goes in after i clean it up easier than it came out... god, i had to wrestle it out... i pull about a pound of electrical tape off this big black dildo looking thing... turned out it's the wiring for the RHD setup, just folded on it's self... (shown in the pic)okay, so first starting on the injector wires, extending them so i can run them under instead of over...

stock...extended... (then ran out of tape...FAIL)

so i pretty much got the "front" part of my harness cleaned up... it'll look good when i get it all taped up and loomed...now just to eliminate that extra 2ft of wire and clean up the "back" side of the harness, then it's ready!!!!

here's my dog George, being the excellent helper that he is...

oh yeah... and here's the FReddy manifold i painted today as well... looks OK... nothing special though... Nissan Super Black with 4-5 coats of clear.. Optimus Prime ownz joo!!1!!!one!!1!

well, that's all for now i guess... more updates later when the clutch line comes in and the o-rings... and whatever else i ordered...

I really like your build thread. I feel your pain with the moneys, but it's only temporary for me and probably you as well.

I also like the gainsville crew you've got going on, makes me want to move. FL = no inspections or emissions, great weather, clubs, women, jobs... I can only assume lol.

Good work on the budget build man, I like the gold rims <Steelers fan.

once again, thanks guys, and thanks for all your support!!! keeping me motivated to take my time, and do it right instead of rushing through it...

well, i got my harness done today, and tried to finish a KADE valve cover for the guy, but the rain came and made the clear fog up on me...

either way, pics of the harness...

good little work station...shrink wrap and solder...final product, a hellova let better than before....

and here's some shots of the KADE Valve Cover i'm doing for chromedrifter, i can finish if it will ever stop raining... it's a green metallic pearl... will be adding 4-5 coats of clear and cut and buffing the letters to a mirror like polish

well, that's pretty much it till this weekend when i do the swap!!! got some more parts to pull of the SR car to get it ready for a pull... pics to come of course... i'll also be painting my upper bay FMIC piping Nissan Super Black, just to kinda match.... the rest of the theme in the bay....

no probs bro!!!

minor updates, got some s*** done Friday (yesterday), snapped off a few shots...

got it stripped, and ready, only thing i need to do to get it out is to unbolt the transmission cross member and yank it out.... now on the the auto KA for the same steps... UGH

pile-o-parts..

oh oh, and the SR>KA AC compressor adapter brackets came in.... not quite what i expected for $105, but it came with a belt, and should just bolt right up, so it's worth it, considering most AC services are well over $150... other than that, my 1pc clutch line came in, got my Nistune installed in my GRID ECU (just pulled the board out, and slid the Nistune in, the back was already jumped too, with a real switch, and not solder), ummm C-pillar bar came in, although kinda cheap-o... what else, oh yeah, pig tail for the Z32 MAF, the stock SR ECU that i was gonna put the Nistune in (don't need that anymore..)

so later today, i'll have more pics when i pull the KA and get the SR in... i'm going to wait to install the Nistune ECU, i'll run the stock one, till i can at least get the consult cable hooked up, which i'll probably do upon install...

so, project stalled due to poor planning... i don't have everything i need, as afar as tools go, i need a sawzall to cut the bumper support, a 3.5 and a 1 1/4 hole saw drill bits to make the holes for the clutch master, and the AC bracket so i can mount my KA compressor with the adapters....

i should have already had all this set up, but it looks like i'll be waiting till next weekend...

i did make progress tho, i got all the 5spd parts off the gold car, as well as all the gauges, and wiring for the GReddy EBC and FATT and AEM wideband... so now it's all just a matter of installing on the new car...

man i'm dissapointed... for real...
