Well I finally received my intake. I waited a little longer to receive it in black. Installed it this morning and have one minor problem which I'll mention in a moment.

We've already had several threads like this but I just wanted to snap a couple shots of the black one for you guys. So far I'm very impressed. I don't notice any gains right away but I'll give it a few hundred miles. We know there wont be huge gains to be seen here. The sound is fantastic.

Well, the issue. Of course when installing a product like this it is suggested to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Not a problem. When I finished installing the product etc I went to start the car. I usually roll the windows down by just hitting the auto-down. Doesn't work. Nor does the auto-up work. I'll check the fuses in a bit but I thought that to be odd. This must be a result of the terminal being disconnected. Any thoughts?

Just reset the window problem according to the manual. Should fix the problem.

If you read the manual, it addresses resetting the auto up/down feature....had to do it on my coupe. Don't remember the exact sequence but it was a quick easy fix....

Anytime you disconnect the negative terminal, you lose all custom settings, same as the radio clears memory, etc. It's annoying, but it happens.

Awesome. The manual indicates to roll the window down more than half way than roll the window up. Hold it for more than 3 seconds. Worked like a charmThanks!

I'm aware that custom settings are lost when the battery is disconnected. I just didn't consider this to be a custom setting.

Finally, huh?! Don't you just love the sound? Wait til she breaks in after 300 or so and then tell me what you think. It'll sound exactly like the G above 2000, but not at idle or low revs But I'm glad you finally got it installed.

I didn't disconnect the battery. I know the instructions said to do so, but there is no need. I think they just say that to cover there butts in case something happens. Unless you're working with power, there is no need to disconnect. Then you have to reset everything like your windows, stereo presets, clock, etc. I hate doing that!

I just installed mine Thursday night and was finally able to get it out last night. I agree, sounds great and can't imagine it sounding better so I can't wait to get some more miles on it. I didn't bother disconnecting my battery either.....didn't want to go through the hassle....

Tyler and Brian, where did you guys end up running the breather hose to? Did you place it between the heat shield and filter as I did? Just wondering because that was the most logical place I could think of. Any better idea?

Haha I just took the generic[808] way out and shoved it in there. Maybe I should tie it up to hold it in place

Are there any increase claims by the manufacturer? Be curious to know since you said you didn't feel any increase. I'm guessing based on the G35 that most intakes will add about 5-10 horsepower maybe.

I did notice a better throttle response and the RPM's seemed to jump much quicker. A short ram intake will usually give a 5-7HP boost. I'd say that's about right.

I didn't notice any extra hoses flopping around. I only see one open ended hose that looks like a breather except it is already factory clipped and tied down. Am I missing something.....Here's a picture of the one I'm talking about....

looks nice!! now I'm having the mod itch... is there anyway you could post a sound/video clip of it...or a link to one? I'd love to hear it

I have a question tho...on my old car, I put a ram-air intake on it and after about 1.5 years, the engine light would come on. I took it to the dealership and they said the mix was rich and to put the stock box back on.

Now, I know my old car is nothing like these Nissan's... but has anyone had an intake on their Nissan (any Nissan) for longer than 2 years?

Very nice mod! Would this be a waste of time on a 2.5S? I ask because that's what I'm getting and only 3.5'rs have contributed here so far.

Wouldn't be a waste of time! Injen makes one. Buy it! You'd be the first here to report feedback on it.

I think I might! I'll have my Injen intake and no car!! LOL. Still waiting. Less than a month now... Also, when my A/C does come in, I think I'll be the only 2.5S owner w/ convenience pkg AND stock fog lights!

I can't remember the exact price. But I think it was about $170 per light and housing. Plus the cost of the new stalk, it was going to be around $450-475. That's not including labor. What the hell...its only money. It was cheaper going this route because I didn't want to upgrade packages just for foggies and I also didn't want to do that install myself and I wanted it to be a "stock install" w/o an additional switch mounted anywhere.I'll probably be kicking myself if I decide to go w/ HID's in the future, but for the time being, this will suit me just fine.

My car should arrive in a month. The fog lights should be here much sooner than that; the plan is to have the lights installed at the dealer the day of delivery (or ASAP). That way, the lights will be on when I drive it home! Then, its straight to the shop for tint and clear bra.

I followed the link on your locked accessories thread. Stillen only has the Injen listed for a 3.5?

Is this a typo or am I looking in the wrong place? Should it read 2007-2008?

I posted a couple of vids in this thread: zerothread/281295

Sounds like you had a bad MAF sensor (mass air flow). This is my 4th Nissan and I've modified all of them. None ever gave me any issues with dummy lights with the install of an intake and I've owned all of them for years. My old SE-R was highly modified and never had any probs whatsoever.

This was purchased from Stillen after a price match. There is no cold air intake available, nor do I think there will be. There is simply no space for one.

I guess some people ask the same questions over and over without reading the actual thread. Oh well....
