Okay, I finally have pictures, but I am having trouble uploading them into the Member's Rides. They are bitmap files.

Latest delay- bad center bearing for driveshaft.

She's alive!!!Everything is running now, except for the Fisher Concepts damper- still looking for a bolt that is long enough- that thing has been one big pain in the ***. Did not even have timing marks on it. Don't buy from them unless you are prepared to deal with retarded people. Also need to get a new dipstick, as the machinists apparently misplaced it.I should get some more pics soon from the mechanic. I will post when I get them.

You should be able to use a non-dampened pulley just fine. I took apart the stock pulley one time to see and it's not actually dampened, it just has a chunk of metal inside. Just weighted for smoother operation, nothing to do with engine harmonics.

We're using the stock pulley right now until we can get the fisher unit up to satisfactory specs. From what I've heard the stock pulley has a weighted ring attached with a layer of rubber- Nissan's version of a "Damper"- The new one should make things a little smoother once we can actually attach it.

I don't recall there being any rubber. Just seemed like a hunk of metal. it's just for smoother operation, like the heavy stock flywheel. Your crankshaft isn't going to spontaneously combust without it.

The counterweights on the crank are designed to take care of the torsional vibration.

Most expensive firecracker ever...That's why we're running it with the stock one right now. It will just be a bit more piece of mind when the Damper is on.

What kind of Dyno would you be using?

I'd say if you are on some piece of crap Dynojet, you might see 210whp.

If you're one a real whp reading dyno, like a Mustang dyno, you would probly be more around 180-190whp.

Either way, it should be a fun car to drive. Overall pretty similar to what I was considering, just still not sure if I want to build a motor for turbo, or just stay NA.

Quite possibly one of the longest build processes too...

Dyno will be on a Superflow AutoDynhttp://www.speedlab1.com/dyno%20services.htmThe link is also the shop that is rebuilding everything. And I mean everything. The block, crank, head, and fuel rail, are about the only things that are not original equipment, and the block and head have both had work done.

It may be an SM- I just emailed to try to verify.

And yes, the winter beater has proved its worth, only needing new rear brakes and a new alternator during the past 16 months.

That could be, I may have remembered incorrectly. Whatever the case- that engine is gorgeous.

My dad picked it up and has only driven a little (they lost the copy of my insurance card). But the car is pretty smooth, idle is slightly lopey. There are a few bugs to workout (some binding in the new steering rack, some rattling that my dad is trying to pinpoint-glovebox?). Dad is keeping a list so that we can fix those one by one. He's taking it back to the mechanic tomorrow to try to figure those two out.

My dad has been driving it around. It had a difficult time starting one morning but it seems to be running fine now. He's started to punch it every now and then and he no longer thinks his 1.8T A4 can beat it...

If I'm not mistaken a 240 should own an A4 in the wieght department. Even without any wieght reduction.

Yeah, A4 is about 800lbs heavier and stock makes only 170hp. When he told me he thought his was faster, I told him his perception of speed is off. Now that he's been driving mine a little bit more, he put off the challenge until he gets his car chipped.

Hey ajax what type of gas is your dad using to run in it right now? I going to be building up a ka24E motor when I get the funds and i'm just trying to get as much data as possible.

I'm pretty sure a stock 240 could take a stock audi quattro 1.8T. That's just a woefully underpowered engine for a car that heavy.

1.8litre T's suck *** you don't even feel power till about 4500RPM....... The chassis isn't that light either......Throttle responce on the KA is obviously better for NA........Smobbed on a 1.8T VW, I am pretty much all stock internall with all the nice bolt on's. KA has potential once you open it up.......
