I want to put in a system in my car but i really would like to hear what others with the same car have.

Meaning all. My car at the moment is ALL stock. I want to start fixing it. But i want it to have some "boom" first. :) So anything anyone can give me would be great.

This is a VERY broad question. Are we talking head unit, component speakers, subwoofers, or the whole nine?

the best are the ones that work. there is not "one" specific system designed to make your music sound the best in this car.

This guy just did his Boom.
I suggest going head unit first.
Then speakers or sub.

I would go head unit..then speakers..then subs. There are so many options to choose from. You really just have to find what you like.

The head unit doesn't really affect the sound, amirite?

I also always wondered that question, since Im no sound expert. I have a 1k$ budget for sound but don't really know what to buy or who to go to lol.

Head unit provides more power output to the speakers mkay.
It actually does clean up the sound a tad bit.
1k budget. Who to go to you say?

It absoultely does. OEM headunit had bass/treble control. Aftermarket should have a minimum of 5 frequency EQ, some go up to 7 or 12. It also gives a boost in power (maybe 20 watts per channel depending on model) and tons of options for MP3/Streaming control. Plugging your iPod or iPhone into the OEM aux port through its headphone jack sounds NOTHING like plugging it into an actual Apple control harness hard wired into the headunit.

IMO, best hands down is Alpine INA-W910. But there goes the bulk of your $1K budget.

Alpine started iPod/iPhone integration, and are the best in the biz at it. They also offer tons of options for add-on sound processing and sculpting. You can start with a basic model to start and then add-on to achieve what you want over time without blowing your whole budget at once.

It all depends on what you want and where you want it. Stick with Alpine, Pioneer, and Kenwood. Stay away from Clarion, Sony, JVC, and anyone else for that matter.

I have the Alpine CDE 138BT unit, it is totally wireless. Bluetooth, Pandora, works off your iPhone. It is not a double din but still has a USB connect for future uses. I mated it to Alpine speakers and has the ability to add a sub if I wanted. I can also use my steering wheel controls. There is no comparison to OEM, none.

You are limited to DIN size. You have to stay within double DIN, unless you plan on doing some fab do your dash.

You have auto or manual climate control? Was there even an option in the 2012?

Yup, but buy the OEM trim so you dont have to use a POS Metra mounting kit. Should be part# 15 in this link:

Looks like this, exact OEM match, because it is OEM:

^You got lucky then. I had a kit in mine for a while, it fit like crap. It was so bad that if I pushed a button on the radio, my defroster would turn on because the whole thing shifted and pushed up against the button.

You need to but a single or double din. Screen size will fit within those parameters. It doesnt matter what size the screen is, if the head unit it double din or less, you are good.

You are still going to need a dash kit or that OEM trim piece. Did it come with a kit? And a Nissan wiring harness?
