I got the kit that Irvxing is running. I don't know about the harness and adapter tho.. Do I need to buy it separately or does it come with the unit?

Alpine started iPod/iPhone integration, and are the best in the biz at it. They also offer tons of options for add-on sound processing and sculpting. You can start with a basic model to start and then add-on to achieve what you want over time without blowing your whole budget at once.

It all depends on what you want and where you want it. Stick with Alpine, Pioneer, and Kenwood. Stay away from Clarion, Sony, JVC, and anyone else for that matter.
I got the Jvc kw-nt3hdt. With navigation, bluetooth, aux output, Hd radio, dvd and cd player. No problems at all and it sounds amazing.

^Just my personal opinion. Ive had great experiences with the brands mentioned, and mediocre or bad experiences with the others. JVC did make a big push to get into the market a few years back, maybe they stepped their game up. Ive got a few years more experience under my belt than most (meaning Im frickin old). In my mind, JVC makes home theater components, not car audio.

@SanoSuke you will need to buy those separately. They dont include them with the headunit because they are different depending on what car you are installing the head unit in.

Don't forget the steering wheel control module if you want to keep those buttons on your steering wheel.

I got it for $500 off Amazon :mike I bought the harness and adapter which is $30 off amazon too.

I'm picking up incredible's subs, sub box and amp for $150. So far budget still undercontrol :ohno:

I still gotta take all that stuff to Matt so he can add some CF Vinyl flare to it :naughty:

@Alex, hit me up with the link bro, I'll buy it! :tisk:

Chris, I'll take you up on that offer! Just tell me what do you like and I shall bring booze for the neighborhood!

And steering wheel module like alex said. (i didnt buy it)

Uhhhh

I dunno, I'm hoping Incredible will hook me up with the amp stuff and it's wiring. Once I get details from him, I'll probably go shopping again. How much is the steering wheel module anyways?

Bah Irvxing you beat me to it, I read this at work and planned to write when I got home. The list grows!

I would go 4 gauge, always better to have bigger and it shouldnt be too much more $$$

You need 4 gauge power wire from battery to amp w/ inline fuse
4 gauge ground wire from amp to ground
RCA signal cable from head unit to amp
Amp remote wire from head unit to amp
Speaker wire from amp to subs

You can get a full 4 gauge single amp kit for around $50.00 probably. Not sure on cost of steering wheel module, not more than $100.00 I would think.

zzzz Im starting to regret this lol.

full 4 gauge kit includes all of the above? I'm still waiting on the sub/amp info so I won't buy the kit just yet.

Best place to buy this online? and is it different for every car or universal?

Amp wiring kit is universal.
ANd yes it includes everythign DjBeasy mentioned.
I bought mine form best buy. Had a friend hookup and got a rockford fostgate amp 4ga kit for 20 bucks.
Amazon has them for around 40 bucks i believe. Just steer clear from the CHEAP,CHEAP ones. RCA's are noisy.
And the power/ground cables literally flake all over the place.

I got my steering wheel control module on amazon for either thirty or sixty but I can't remember lol. Definitely would nOt have bought it for one hundred. And yeah my Craigslist steal for a head unit turned into 1400 dollars already and I still need about four hundred more for sound deadening and some nice component speakersssss

So I just got the dash kit today, and I'm still not sure how's it going to fit my headunit. I mean it fits Irvxing's headunit when he has 5.8" screen but is it still going to work for the 7" ?

YES. The screen size does not matter, its the size of the headunit. If the headunit is double din size, it will fit the dash kit.

that's my next move once I get the system in, to get a fitted box for the trunk. For now I'll just use a fiber glass box and eat my trunk space :(
