anyways, on the topic of mutts... they should be genetically superior to a pedigree breed, so i'm all for mutts...

Anyways, my fav's are the English bulldog, the boxer, the akita, the german shepard (i own one and like him w/all his inbred defects and all), and the husky.
Haha, I was just gonna say. Cowboy bebop dog is cool. I want to get that dog next.

The "stock" poodle ain't a looker either, it looks like the result of some sort of fraternity prank.

I'd take either a Corgi or an Australian Terrier.

BadMojo: You're well informed about ex-racing greyhounds. A lot of adoption places will tell you that when they're inside the house greyhounds can be couch potatoes! The only bad thing about greyhounds is they don't exactly 'excel' in obedience training (very easy to housetrain though), very difficult to recall --especially outside. They will see something, even a plastic bag floating in the air and BOLT. I'm sure the older greyhounds are less prone to that. And supposedly Whippets are a bit better on the recall/obedience training.

Here's my dog of the day:

Translyvanian Hound, an almost extinct breed. There are a few groups dedicated to preserving them though

my mom is so gonna go get a Bengal kitten...(not tiger, but really cool domestic cats)

I gotta make sure she gets a male though, they're the most amusing of the two by far (sorry ladies, but I like my animals dumb and boisterous;))

Most books and adoption places say that a greyhound should *never* be off a leash unless it's in an enclosed area. Their prey drive is so strong that they might never quite get rid of that "chase anything that moves" instinct.

Then again, some are cat-safe. Cats are small, fuzzy and very chase-able.

For what it's worth, I failed my obedience training too.

I like dogs. They have alot of muscle on them, just like a cow. And guess what, they taste just like Cows .

I hate cats. They are good for nothing. They just lay around and sleep all day. When they do get up, they go claw the crap out of something.

Oh, guys, please don't keep your dogs inside unless you have to. It is not natural.

I have a Beagle that has never been on a leash in his 9 years of living(except to go to the vet of course). He never used to be allowed in the house, but resently his hip has been acting up because of the "Cold" weather, now he sleeps in the garage. But he is never allowed in the house.

It is very unsanitary to have an animal in the house. It is also bad to put your animal on a leash. I hate it that Dogs are supposed to always be on a leash, but cats don't have to be! WTF is up with that. If I ever see a cat on top of any of or cars, I swear I will shoot the damn thing. Nothing like some claw scratches on the roof

Oh, I had a cop confront me about my dog not being on a leash once. I told him to, "Get the hell out of here and stop harrassing me!" He left.

I really wish I had enough room for a black lab around here. Definitely my favorite dog.

Those are some great dogs. My mom prefers cats though, so I haven't had a dog since I was a kid. Though one of the cats is well on his way to becoming the size of a black lab. Except the only black lab I was ever around was the strongest dog I had ever seen, they had to keep buying bigger chains because the dog always broke them. I mean actually chains, not like little leash chains. That and it would pull you anywhere, wchich was great in the winter if you tied a sled to it. Where as my cat is retarded and lazy (spitting image of me.) We found the cat as a stray, he's funny as hell though.

It's the only dog pic I have on my computer.

one of my professors in college once told me :"Dogs are happy to see you when you come home, and they make you feel like youre at home. They miss you when you are gone and they love your companionship. Cats are annoyed by your prescene and tolerate you only because you feed them. When they look at you, their eyes are saying "why won't you die, so I can eat you?"
