Best 6-cyl ever?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I think theres a reason you dont see many of them on the road still. I dont sthink they were known to stay together in one piece.

Btw, forged BMW internals can be found here, low price and low comp.
The biggest 6 that BMW ever manufactured was the S38 from the M5 i believe. definitely a stout setup.

ever think about a Dodge Slant 6?

they're pretty tough other than the crappy stock headgaskets.

I think they're capable of numbers like the Buick but the M90 supercharger won't get them anywhere near it.

Agrred, especially considering the M90 is a better match for the KA then the big 3.8. I sometimes don't understand engineers

Good low to mid range power for grandma driving ... most of those cars probably never see above 3000 rpm, if that. Now, if they designed those cars for us... it'd probably have a M112 or a Whipple or similar.

Exactly how many secretaries in the 80's did you see that could afford a supercoupe really want to have 500 hp in them, maybe if the biatch looked like twisted sister. Dee Snider does have some badarse rides though.

mine saw 4800 or so more than it should have.

but really...in normal driving, you seldom had to put it over 3500, it had torque from 0-where ever.

fun cars to drive and I've always loved the bodystyle.

If it weren't such a pig of a car, I'd like to build one. Mine is now in my brother's hands...it's got like 214k on it....probably ready to finally have a rebuild....it's still got good power but the SC makes a racket and it leaks everywhere.

A little late but I'd like to point out the potential of the BMW s54. The I6 from the e46 M3. 650ish whp on 11 psi is no joke but the advancements for FI with this engine are slow in coming due to $$$ (at least in America).

I think the older M engines can handle even more abuse. The S54 head probably flows better from stock but the block looks weaker. We´ll see, there are a few guys building them over here right now.

Yeah, that's what everyone here basically says as well.

I'm not sure of exactly what point they're dropping the compression but I'm sure they are. The scary part is that M3 is running with a 25ish psi (IIRC without watching the vid again) Supra when the M is only getting 11 psi fed to it.
