So today I was chasing a mystery wire today for 5 or so hr.....and from what I can tell i thing it is a power wire to the ECU??? Its black with a white stripe and its the size of a pen??? Also there is a solid white wire same size aswell just hanging out.

and the rats nest I have been going threw all damn day....

On a better note my KOYO radiator is here with a slim fan I will clean this up and make it look nice before it goes in....

I also finish the cabin harness plug....the plug I had to convert to match the one behind the glove box.

So I hope I am right about the wire ...tomorrow I will buy a relay and wire it up for a 12 volt that powers on when the key turn on power in the first position. If I am wrong please tell me so I can correct this before I screw up. Any help would be great.

Tonight there was a little light at the tunnel.....The wiring so far came out o.k. The fan relay came out correct and the fan powered on like its suppose too and the mystery wires are all good and getting power. No funny noises or a humming sound or smoke thank god. Since I am not used to S13's and their peek-a-boo headlights as soon I had power to the car ...those damn things poped up and scared the hell out of me I didn't expect that to happen I am guessing when I was putting on the Nardi wheel I must have hit the button for them to pop up. Oh well I will try to finish things later on in the week.

I need help and I just finished puting in my 1994 KA24de in my 89 hatch. When I try to start the car I get a clicking noise from the fuse box behind the driver side head lamp? I have checked all the grounds. I am thinking the starter itself could be bad...but the motor was running when we removed it from the previous car? I do not know the wiring on these car very well and I have searched and looked as much as I can. Any opinion or advice on direction I could go in would be alot of help. I am taking the starter to test to see if its good. Well today after I got off work I took the starter off to get tested. The starter itself tested correctlyand It works fine I put the starter back on and nothing again. As far as wiring goes I havn't done much really. The harness on the motor is ran to the ECU. and the dash conector I had to cut the end off and get the white end. I color matched the wires correctly and sodered them and the connectors from the harness to the fuse box on the passenger side are plug and play. I even jumped off the starter to the battery what the hell?

I remember -RJ- having clicking in his passenger side fuse box. I'll ask him about it.

Well I got the dash and the hack job chassis harnesss out tonight after work. This was a real pain in the a** to get out but I am glad that I did it because I learned what the internal wiring looks like behind all the panels on the S chassis. Took some pics for ya to look at.

Clicking behind the drivers side headlight... I had this same problem. Sometimes the car would start right up, and other times it wouldnt. I finally found what it was. One of the relays (I believe it was blue) had a crack in it. The piece of metal inside the relay that moves in order to complete the circuit had corroded from moisture getting in the crack and was not making solid contact. I figured out if I had someone sit in the car, keep the key turned all the way, and pump the clutch, then I stuck a flathead screwdriver in the relay, the car would fire right up. I hope this helps you. Im 90%$ your problem is related to that relay.

Its been a min......got a couple of things done lately. I did mange to get the powersteering line on its a steel braided unit and got most of the engine bay mocked up. I will take it all back out when I get time to have car and bay painted hopefully in the up comming months. I found a used Shoei helment in great shape and it is my size for a low low price of $12.99. Then came home did some cleaning around the house and went to the garage to work on the beast. I finally caught a break with the heating issue with the KA so that issue is solved. I have rubbing issues with the inner fender where the factory welds the inner fenderwells together with the outer ones so I have to cut and bend them out of the way. I took a small video tonight to show you guys the update. Please keep in mind I am by no means a camera guy its s***y quailty and the car is noisy from the solid mounts everything vibrates and rattles its a** off other than that the motor runs great its quiet and idles perfect now thank god. I have a lot of cleaning to do so please excuse the bay, Anyway did some mocking up today with the cusco can and finished some wiring. Also put on a new belt for the power steering and added fluid to the steering unit its not normal of me to have a dirty bay.

Took it out tonght for a test spin no more rubbing issues almost there now, just a few more thing to finish up. Thanks to Chris for comming over and hanging out.Before...

and after...

and with the wheel back on..
