Yeah, but it's not worth it. I had some when Elliot and the crew cracked one open with Jim Koch in attendance, and it wasn't the s*** awesome mind blower it would have to be at that price.sbird1 wrote:http://uncrate.com/p/2010/05/sam-adams-utopia-xl.jpg
^ Goes for as much as $600... still a beer.
Because you're a douche.Empty V wrote:Just to rub it in I've got 2x $125 bottles of tequila that I'd pay $200 for and I'm not a rich man by any means. You know why?
I've got 2 different bottles of oak aged yeti in my fridge that I'm waiting to crack.PEZi wrote:Also had a Bourbon Barrel aged YETI from Great Divide... that one was aged in Stranahan's Bourbon Whiskey barrels up here in CO..... absurdly good!

Good to know! I sent a growler to my buddy in Austin, TX an few months ago and he returned the favor. This is what I got in the mail today. I sent him a Banana Hef by a local brewery called Wolfcreek. This is supposed be an Agave Wheat. BTW my name is BillyPEZi wrote:The oak aged ones were pretty decent. You can't go wrong with a YETI as the normal one was already fantastic, but the barrel aged ones were beyond amazing. Aged 22 months in Stranahan's barrels... 12.2% alc of vanilla, coffee and traditional YETI goodness. Don't know if you can even find them outside of CO, though.

There's tons of breweries all over so-cal. I just started getting into it a little while ago and it's been an interesting journey. As my palette develops I can appreciate all these different crazy artisan beers. I'm also lucky enough to have 10 or so liquor stores within a 20min drive that all have different insane local beers. I'll take a pic of Wade's Wines next time I'm in there, that place is like the Mecca of alcohol. They've got over 300 different whiskeys and just opened up a tap room with 36 beers and 36 wines all on tap. Yes, wine on tap, it's nuts.SBC 240Z wrote:Where do you guys go to find these beers? I guess Florida sucks that way because even in the liquor stores its BudLight or Miller

I remember when they came out with JR Ewing's Private Stock beer. I think they used the same mix as Billy BeerBubba1 wrote:audtatious wrote:I tried one of these "way back when"
I did too, way back when. Worst beer ever I tasted. Tasted like Billy Carter emptied his bladder into the vat. I remember I paid $4.32 for a case of 12 oz cans and ended up giving them away.

5 out of 6 is pretty good, Stella really doesn't belong with the rest of those heavy hitters, but that's just my opinion.audtatious wrote:For Christmas my mother in law got me a 6-pack and 4 tall beer glasses. So, tonight I'm gonna hit'em:
1. Spaten Oktoberfest
2. Spaten Optimator (doppelbock)
3. Paulaner Hefe-weiaen (I've had a 6 of these before)
4. Stella Artois
5. Weihenstephaner Original Premium
6. Warfteiner Premium Verum
Little places called "liquor stores". I know there are tons in Florida and you guys don't have the s*** alcohol laws that Georgia does (although we can buy alcohol on Sundays now as of Jan. 1).SBC 240Z wrote:Where do you guys go to find these beers?
