Alrighty so heres how I spent my new years eve:
It seemed like there were a whole lot of hanging empty harnesses in my car now that 90% of the stuff had been removed. So I figured I'd go back and trim the body harness of everything that wasn't needed. I only got up to about the back seats, but got pulled off to do some other stuff, so I'm only about halfway done, but have already pulled all this out....

Image

Then I went down and got myself a new years present...

This ladies and gentelman...is an R33 RB26 (naturally). Save for an oil pan, oil pump, and fuel rail. PRETTY GOOD DEAL! The harness has also been wired for the S13 by NICO's own CarlH. Now were talking!

Happy new year to everyone and thanks for following!

I like clean stock bodied s13's for the most part, but i have a lot of respect for this drift style build now. Mainly, because you didn't just go cheap and throw an LSx swap in there. RB26 = best nissan engine ever.

Thank you. Its not really usually my choice to go something out of control either...but on the passanger side quarter panel there was a patch that looked like someone lit it on fire and tried stomping it out with a golf shoe. So I just figured the quick and easy way for a non-body working kind of guy like myself to make it look all better was to do over fenders. I originaly was just going to do the rears, but after talking to Russ at Aerokits.net, he actually was able to make me a deal i really could not pass up for this full kit, so I just decided to jump on it.

And I agree. I've always wanted an RB26, and I hate anything that comes out of Government Motors. I'll be much happier with the 26 no doubt in my mind.

Got a little bit of some spray on her. Just to throw a little typical 240sx splash under the hood. Its actually pretty bad a** and has some purple and blue in it depending on what light you're looking at it in. Unforunately I don't have that much to show for this weekend due to helping my friend on his car and not having much time left to work on mine. Started bolting some stuff into the bay and putting it back together though. Its a good feeling to be putting stuff back in finally rather than taking stuff out.

Still needs some wet sanding in some areas, but thatll start getting taken care of in the next few weeks too as I get time.

Thanks. Wish I could take credit for body stuff but it's my buddies helping me. I'm just doing the non paint related stuff...haha. So I'll let him know u like it.

And I was going to do a conversion...but the more I looked the more i liked the pop ups. Not sure why it just grew on me!

This build is going to be insane, and that's even underrated! Sick car bro, and you have an amazing taste on engine selection :naughty: But this just gives me the drive to get my car back on track! So thank you  But good luck on the build, and I will definitely stay tuned!

You need to get your car back on track man! I don't partricularly have a ton of money, i just have a s*** load of passion for it, and thats all you really need! Not everyone is willing to sacrafice a bunch of stuff for it, but I don't go out to bars and drink, I don't go out to eat a whole lot, and I don't spend 400 bucks a month on clothes, but at the end of the day, when this car is done, I know i won't regret the path that led me up to that point.

Anyways! Back to the car. So heres what I had waiting for me at the shop when I got back from being in Vancouver all week:
Image
Image
So heres what is contained in that picture....McKinney S13 Downpipe kindly donated by a NICO member, Kaaz 2 Way LSD also donated by a NICO memeber, and McKinney S13 RB26 Motor Mounts also given by one of you kind guys (Yes I know they're the poly mounts now, but already talked to McKinney about swapping them to semi-solid or solid...any input from you guys?). As you can see I'm all about giving back to the community! haha. I like to spread the wealth for the common good!

Unforunately I was misled on one product I bought that was claimed to be an N1 Oil Pump, and when it got here and I double checked the part number it was just a regular OEM oil pump...so if anyone is interested I got 165 shipped in it, i'll get it to you for the same. Its all still brand new and wrapped, I just opened it because I refused to believe that it wasn't an N1 so I looked at the pump to see if there was any part numbers on the pump it self....So let me know if you're in need!

That's too bad about the pump. Are you going to do all the installation and shimming for the 2 way? I did my HLSD with all the stock shims and new bearings and it works fine. Backlash on the ring gear was within spec and the pre-load on the bearings was reasonable too.

Ahhhh so unforunately I had a little time off from the build due to some work travel...but I came back to a pile of goodies, and kept making forward progress even though I was 600 miles away. So heres what I was able to come back to:

Greddy Intake Manifold:
Image
Greddy 11.0 Fuel Rail (which apparently was cheating on my while I was gone since another guy at the shop was licking it upon my return)
Image
I also dropped the engine off at the build shop to be redone today, so I was unable to get shots of all the other goodies I rushed up there on short notice...but the list taken up was as follows:
ISIS oil cooler kit
Raw Brokerage direct to block oil filter stud
Tomei Oil Orifice restrictors
SRZ oil return kit
OEM Nissan gasket rebuild kit
TRUE N1 oil pump (to replace the one I was told a couple weeks ago was an N1 but turned out not to be)
N1 water pump
Greddy timing belt
Nissan Timing belt idler
Nissan Timing belt tensioner
Nissan Timing belt tensioner spring
Nismo thermostat
Nissan intake air temp sensor (one was broken off)

I also picked up a DIF aluminum steering bushing while I picked up some other stuff just because I figured itd save rediculous shipping later on just that.
I got some other goodies coming during the week. The next month of two is going to be showing A LOT of goodies. Trying to have the car together by the Carlisle PA Import show...so I'm really cracking down on trying to get it done ASAP. So keep tuned in!

I've been adding a lot to the car...but unfortunately the parts are coming in so quick i cant take enough pictures of them!

The motor will be done the end of March or beginning of April they said...So I'm battling with getting everything with that...as well as finishing the rest of the goodies on the car.

So I raped everything from poweredbymax:

Front ones test fitted on the car:

330mm rear big brake kit:

Also drove to Ohio to pick up an R33 RB25Det transmissions:

Unfortunately all of this was done through my camera phone...which was behind a dusty a** otter box lense cover...so sorry about the quality of pictures. All the rest of the goodies will be shown as i start putting everything back together....after we finish up the body work in a few weeks.

My tune date is set at Evans-Tuning on the first saturday in May because I'm trying to make it to the Carlisle car shows (holla if ur gonna be there! stop by and talk!)
Jeff has actually tuned my last built car...as well as a few other RB26's including Full-Race's own RB26 powered beast...so luckily he knows what he's doing with them! it should be a fun ride...and everything is going very well...except my bank account.

man i actually mocked up the rear subframe with the Max coils in there....sweet baby jesus...I didn't take a picture though because the world isn't ready (and my rear diff/sway bar isn't back from powder coat).

But thanks a lot for the props as always. Its what makes all the money i've spent worth it!

Well I've been getting some very bad news told to me over the last couple days from the engine builders. Unfortunately I suppose since the motor had sat for so long (well that combine with how much the person who originally ran the motor) there were some pretty serious consiquences.

First off I was informed we either needed to rework the crank, or get a new one due to some very worn bearings, including a few that were a few revs away from being spun. So I opted for getting an N1 crank in the interest of time.

It was then found, that for reasons yet to be known (likely debris caused though) the cylinder walls were worn so badly that the factory pistons can not be re-used. In fact, its not even sure yet to what degree they will have to be re-worked. We are going to initially try 20 over, but at a worse case 40 over will clean up the cylinders. Unfortunately this means I'll also be needing to drop money I wasn't anticiapting on new pistons as well as the crank.

Added to that, the areas of the head that the cams ride on were worn as badly as the crank, so the head will hopefully be able to get reworked. If not I may have to somehow find a new head, or a head in salvagable condition in comparison to this one. Either way new cams will be needed since the original cams were destroyed due to this condition.

So while were in on all of this stuff, I figured i may as well just do new rods, valves, springs, retainers, and locks to just make it all built now...

As you can imagine this is setting the project back a couple months which is pretty crushing since I was planning on attending Nicofest in carlisle to introduce the car, but it now seems as though this will be impossible.

I'll make more updates as possible.
