I bought one of those $30 headlights, all the tabs were snapped off and the guy shoved it in a box the size of a toaster oven.

Sometimes you get what you pay for... The good thing is, this POS headlight I have is already busted, perfect to experiment on I guess lol

Be very patient, don't force and make sure you start at a low temp, and gradually move up, ovens are different, you don't wanna over-cook your headlight. DO NOT leave the headlight more than 6 min at a time in the oven.

Good luck!

In order to avoid condensation problems, remove all the black sealer and replace it with a new NISSAN seal

Grey coupe is right if you leave it longer than 6 you will end up with white spots on your headlights like me cause it burnt it.....

Also make sure that your top tab is not touching the metal on the or u will melt it

Yea but like lbc said it doesn't have all the tabs then ur lights don't aim the right way. The 40 dollar ones suck I know personally.

Good luck with the bake. BTW, I leave mine in for more than 6 minutes and I open them no problem. Infact, I've done a few so far, this being the most recent...

dangiers went through a whole bunch and got it down to an art form, but i recommend u start from the top corner since that will give you the most problem, then carefully slide down the sides while pulling it apart.

i've done my own retrofit and it will be a pain, saving up to redo them cuz i sorta messed up on mines and that its missing a few tabs. gonna redo the retrofit and work on a few new ideas im currently thinking of.

pry them open slowly this is a tough task no lie took me a week wen i did it lol. Try and try again ide say try on a $40 set from ebay but w/e if u got em open work and work hard on em its tough but just start at the top and go down. When you hit the bottom itll seem like u can just pull it off but just pry anyway or ull break the bottom corner :mike

you can do it all in 10 min. with experience and knowing your oven, my first light was done in 50 min. my second one in 10 :) just popped everything, after leaving it a little longer to totaly heat up the seal but not enough to melt the headlight. It IS an artform that depends on many factors that's why at first, take your time. DO NOT FORCE it.

Looks Good! Congrats. You're one of the many few that didn't melt them.

Actual working time (me physically handling the lights to open them) takes me less than 5 min. I'm not accounting time in the oven... :chuckle:

Dangeris would you like to share some of your trade secrets on how to open them up in five minutes; you could make a video for us while doing your next set. Don't I remember reading someone suggested wrapping the light with a damp towel while baking?

You're right I got baking headlights and barber shop trims and shaves hand book confused, but no I thought I read that to helps prevent from melting the headlight. Come on man; share some knowledge with us on proper headlight baking, and save people from destroying headlights. It's not like we're asking for a list of your clientele, heck I don’t even know what people are talking about with HID much less doing projector retrofits.
