you need to get some cams! i bet it would make a big difference... i just bought a 6766 anxious to see what it does...i wish i had 3 liters of displacement spooling it though

I'll see I'd like to see what the 6766 would do alone with a larger .81 a/r alone before I'd make that jump. I wouldn't go any bigger than stock base circle drop ins if I did.

i got the 1.00 divided T4 Vband housing with mine, should have it next week, combined with the CNC ported head it should make some good power

Shocker, did you ever change/modify your manifold to deal with the boost creep issue? Also, what manifold are you running?

Sure did!

Boost holds very nicely now.

The manifold I'm running is from a guy who calls his company ETM? I think that's what it says on it. He was from the AU, its equal length and cost me less than a grand new. Once I get setup in a garage next year and finish my masters so I'll have time I plan to start producing my own manifolds on the side.

What size are the individual runners and wastegate? Can you tell my manifold has a boost creep issue too? I've tried all the usual tricks: softer wastegate spring, compressor as a boost source (instead of intake manifold), and not having wastegate being reintroduced into the exhaust, but no luck.

Its a v44 tial. Ind runners are like 1.25 and WG's are ~1.4". My creep issue was 100% wastegate placement not seeing proper upstream flow to hold constant boost.

Whats yours look like?

I have the same wastegate, but the length, path of the runners, and perhaps even the transition from the manifold seem to be worse than yours.

Yeah that is bad, and basically how mine was before, all the flow from the exhaust gasses is rushing right by the perpendicular waste-gate ports and into the turbine housing causing bad creep issues. Its following the path of least resistance, you need to move your two waste gate pipes down like mine are, that will make the wastegate ports completely parallel to the exhaust gas path and provide sufficient flow through the wastegate providing proper boost controlling ability. Look closely at mine, you can see the WG ports are directly inline with the #3 and 4 runner.

So the exhaust from only #3 & #4 are being bypassed to the wastegate? Its kind of hard to tell from that pic.

I'm using McKinney Mounts with custom 7/8" tall aluminum pucks and RB25 mounts (the aluminum part that attaches to the block). Even at that rate its a very very tight squeeze. See beginning of this thread from more details.

Oh spring is in full swing, and the cars are back out...

Over the winter(actually over last weekend) I took the time to install a new Q45 3.69 rear end for longer gear ratios, oil vent mod, (machined my own fitting) and plumbed it to the sump, added subframe spacers and eliminated the wheel hop. I also converted my rack to a 100% manual rack and completely deleted the PS. I love it! I also am loving the new ratios what a difference, the car feels so damn good right now.

Lucky to have a buddy who owns a ZR1 to run.. we will rematch soon after hook up a 5 BAR external and I add a couple more lbs on pump and we find a longer runway. ;) no more limiter hitting aloud either from me...

yeah, still got the 30r w atp's 0.78 twin entry housing...its too small for the 3l and chokes it out past 5.5k, you can see power tank on the dyno graph.
phenomenal response tho, makes it a blast to drive cruise in 5th at 3k stomp it and by 3300 i have 14psi lol.

I wouldn't run anything smaller than a 35R on an RB30.. They need a lot of air compared to the 25/26 motors.. and in extreme cases the 20 like Carls jump. My car felt sooo much better once I got the 3.5" on it over the restrictive crush bent 3.0" old exhaust.. We will see what happens on the dyno here soon, but I have a good feeling a set of drop in cams and the new 6766 .81 a/r would easily gain another 50-80whp at the same boost levels on pump with my setup.. granted my exhaust manifold doesnt start holding me back with its smaller than ideal runners IMO.

I did another run yesterday with another buddy and his Kenne Bell 5.0 that went 600whp earlier in the year. Car is extremely nice and I figured it would be a really good race which it was. Enjoy!

You might get one.. just not this year.. lol

I do that type of racing occasionally, I'm not a huge advocate of street racing unless its in the type of environment shown in these videos.. where I'm not blasting past unsuspecting drivers.

Man you're really racing the big dogs now! You said you rebuilt it, what kind of internals are you running?

I can't wait to get my 26 head going. I'm going to be running a .86 divided T4 on the 6262. I think it will choke still but it'll beat the hell outta my .58 lol.

EDIT: How did you do such a good job of shaving the "RB26" off the front cover? Or is it aftermarket.

The engine is a 9:1 custom weisco piston motor, stock prepped rods, arp rod bolts, stock main bolts, 11mm arp studs, acl bearings. It's pretty simple nothing crazy. N1 pump with collar, I just keep the revs down to 7200. The 6262 is a good turbo and will make you good power too.

As for the cover i just ground down and shaped the aluminum with a paddle wheel for hood clearance, and the old 26 logo. Then painted it after.

Wicked man thanks for the reply! I have another Q. I'm seriously toying with the idea of going back to clutch fan too. You arent running a shroud at all?? You said yours is custom. What exactly does that mean? I ditched my RB20 clutch fan and shroud long long ago, and I think tracking down another might be hard.
