Hi, all.

My front shocks arrived today (rears some weeks back)! Yay! Thanks, AZhitman! Total price was $242 plus $15 for shipping. Heck of a deal to get Tokico Blues all around.

I better call Joe at Scottsdale and get the dust boots ordered asap so that I can get the work done! Does anyone know if the prices shown at their web site (infinitipartsusa.com) are the same values that Joe quotes directly to NICO members, or does he lower it further?

Double check YOUR dust boots first - Mine were PERFECT (no tears, no rips).

Better check prices with Joe directly.

A good thought - I will check tonight. My car is almost 8 years old, so I was assuming that the dust boots needed to be changed. Per Dennis's comments in the past!Quote »Better check prices with Joe directly. [/quote]Will do. Thanks! I need to get upper links and brake pads also (and am considering getting the rear sway bar kit they have), so a call is probably needed regardless.

A curiosity question: what is the real difference between the two types of front shocks for the different years shown here? I got the -A models for my 1995Q anyway, but am wondering about the answer ...

I think the boots also serve at the bump-stop at the top. I know it's that way on either the front or back. Even if they look good, I'd probably replace them to avoid headaches down the road...

A good point too. They are certainly inexpensive enough ... particularly through infinitipartsusa.com.

Ordering the front Tokico's today - Got some unbeatable prices on Eibach's for the Q if anyone is considering.

Also, I think I'll post some prices over in the 240 section - Those guys are all about lowering their rides...

For the Q, the NICO price is approximately $230. An awesome deal considering they list for almost $360.

Good luck!

Talked to Rob yesterday and the Blues are on the way (living in Memphis, I have to be careful how I say that.) The guy couldn't be nicer and does want to take care of the NICO membership wherever they can.

Full set of 2 fronts, 2 rears and shipping: $253.84, an outstanding deal!

As another shameless plug Rob carries a couple of wheel lines with a couple of early-Q applications:

Not sure if Tokico makes shox for the J, or if they have Eibachs for the J either (I'd bet they do). I'd say call (phone # is in first post) and find out - Sorry I don't have an answer for you Mike... :(

Unfortunately your active shocks retail for $900 EACH.The $8,000 [MSRP] active system should have gotten new shocks every 60,000 miles.

Search the board and you will find rechargers [member-Texasoil] and how to convert your active to a conventional suspension.

Andy, you will learn a lot about the suspension by reading the previous posts. The active model is unique in its operation and maintenance. Search on the words active, accumulators and suspension.

Also, Andy, you're close enough to Sopdadope (MA) that he may be able to give you some insight. He has converted several "active" Q's to non-active with good results (for an incredibly fair price). AND he's a great guy. :D

Also, as Dennis said, Texasoil sells recharged accumulators to return your active suspension to its former glory (also at a fair price).

Hey there Andy!

Welcome to the club! As AZHitman has pointed out, I've done a few active suspension conversions with terrific results so far. I hate having to "plug" my active suspension conversion service and knocking heads with Texasoil (who's a real gentleman by the way), but ask the folks who've had their ActSus system converted and see what the think.

That way, there's no ulterior bias as to which is better than which.

So far, I've done conversions for two NICO members, QShip and AZTek72.

My offer still stands, $1,400 for everything (labor AND parts).

By the way, Greg, you're the bestest!

You're too kind, Sope.

BTW, several folks have asked what I am getting out of this deal. The answer is pretty simple: NOTHING.

I approached the company about advertising with us, and they declined. But it was such a good deal for everyone involved, I couldn't keep it to myself.

I asked about getting a little "somethin'-somethin" for myself (for sending them all this business) but that didn't work either.:(

Either way, they've sold approx 30 sets of Tokico's and another 20 or so sets of Eibach's to NICO members, so hopefully that's saved everyone a little cash.:D

Great, do it again for the J30. Those things are not cheap and just about totally unavailable. I still do not believe that the 300ZX shocks wont work.
