What's up everyone. New member here, wife and I just bought a brand new 2012 Rogue S Special Edition in super black. I asked that they remove the pin stripes and long story short, they are repainting the car after us having it one day.

Soooo I can't really give any real impressions on the vehicle yet. Should be picking up the car on Monday. Anyway, I am a former Nissan sentra owner and I understand the rogue is built on the same platform.

New Rogue owner here.. well, 3 months now. Got a 2010 Krom back in February. Not new to Nissans though- wife has a 2004 350Z that we've owned since new.

I'm surprised how few features these things have, honestly. I mean, I actually really like the car, but most cars nowadays have some special feature that really makes them .. 'cool' and these really don't have anything of the sort. I'm not really a creature comfort guy so stuff like leather and nav is all useless crap to me, but could Nissan have at least bothered to put vanity mirrors on the sun visors? Drives my wife crazy.

The more I drive it, the more I like it, and I don't mind putting in stuff I want like bluetooth and heated seats. This is the first 'automatic' transmission vehicle I've ever owned and I definitely like the CVT enough to not be too upset about having to give up a clutch pedal.

Anyway, hello!

See ya guys around...

Hi all,

I just bought a 2012 Nissan Rogue S Special Edition 2 days ago. So far, love the truck. It is a big change coming from my 2012 Honda Civic Si Sedan. However, circumstances dictated that I get rid of the Civic so here I am.

Greetings From Tampa,

Got a Black 2012 Rogue SE on 8/31. Traded-in my 07 Versa and was pleased with the high trade-in value + the incentives on the 2012 Rogue s w/SE pkg. Absolutely love the vehicle so far.

Question- does anyone have any pics of adding LED bars (6") to the front grill or LED strips to the headlight assembly area?

Best to all,

czar

Hello all,

New Nissan driver here! Tomorrow evening I'll be picking up my new 2012 Rogue SV (w/tech and prem pkgs) in Hackone White, in exchange for my 2009 Dodge Caliber (Inferno Red!). As of October I will be starting a new position within my company, which will involve a good amount of driving within the province, so I needed something that would provide better seat comfort for my bad back. I'm hoping the Rogue is the right choice! :dblthumb:

I found that the Caliber seat pan was too deep and was thus pressing into the backs of my knees, which is an ergonomic no-no. The seat pan in the Rogue is just short enough for my dimensions, it seems. I'll really be able to tell once I get out there for more than a 30-min drive.

I've already learned some interesting things from reading the forum and look forward to learning more. I'm in the Toronto area...Brampton, to be exact. :)

Cheers,
Jen

Hello Everyone... I just bought a Rogue last week and its growing on me! I always drove sports cars but needed something for all seasons. Other then the fact the Rogue is slow as hell i'm really liking it lol. Big difference going from a 426hp Camaro to a 4 banger... Here's a pic right after I got the windows tinted.

Hello Everyone,

I had been following the group as part of my Rogue purchase research and really liked what I read  And today.. I have become a proud member of the group.

I sold my old '06 Corolla S and bought the 2012 Rogue Special Edition AWD in Brilliant Silver. :woot: Got a great deal with the Nissan Summer Clearance Event !! :dblthumb: on an already fabulous car !!

Took off on a 750+ Miles road trip to Lake George, NY and Poconos, PA over the Labor Day weekend and loved the drive. The commanding view of the road and the overall driving expereince is simply great. Great looks and tons of convenience features. The rear parking camera works like a charm and is a great convenience esp for night time parking.
I love it !! Feels great to be a part of the group. !!

New owner checking in...

I'm Hugo, I'm from Québec City, Canada (yes, I'm a frenchie).

After months of searching for a 2009 loaded Ford Escape Hybrid (which was either impossible to find or super pricey), we had finally settled on getting a Nissan Rogue (AWD taking into account some of OTs advice of course).

We kept finding used 2008 ones at around 15k$ to 17k$, more for loaded models, most of them with between 50k and 65k miles, and most of them commercial sales (more taxes)

Mind you, this would mainly be used by my gf, and she drives like 10k miles a year tops. I would only use it to run errands.

Lo and behold, a high mileage one (100k miles) popped up in the classifieds, owned by a lady, private seller, highway miles.

So this weekend we got this :

Image

It's loaded with all the options we wanted, and then some (I think these are every option imaginable in Canada on this 2008 model, correct me if I'm wrong) :

Black perforated leather with red stitching + leather shifter and steering wheel
Sunroof
Bose sound system
Tire pressure monitor sensor
AWD of course
Paddles (it's a CVT but it simulates gears ratios)
17" alloy wheels
2-month old Toyo Observe G-02 winter tires
New front brakes
New battery

And we got it for 10 800$ (it sold here for around 34k$ new).

I left it at the paintless dent removal guy to remove a few dings. The rest is in impressive condition considering its milage, and the transmission and engine are still warrantied until 125k miles.

I hope this vehicle gives us may years of trouble free motoring. I will definitely be reading this board with interest.

Cheers, all. :)

Hey everyone, I'm new to the joint and the new owner of a 2012 Nissan Rogue SV AWD.

I had a Nissan Frontier before this vehicle...and a Nissan Pathfinder before that one.

The more I drive this car the more I love it!

I've been reading this forum and others for a while - for research, before I pulled the trigger.

After a LOT of research, I went with the Rogue - I've always liked Nissan and seemed like a great value compared to a lot of the other crossover SUV's I looked at.

New member here in AZ, hello folks! I'm Jonathan and I like long walks on the beach....

Oops, wrong intro. (Back on topic) Came here mostly for the DIY stuff (which is awesome BTW), pictures always help more than the service manual.

A little about the OG Rogue:
2008 Rogue SL. Was actually the only factory leather vehicle in the state when my gf got it in '07. Had to buy it from a dealer that was letting an employee use it as their daily driver. Does that even make sense? Of course not. Has 87k miles on it now, no major problems but have begun to pick up the pace on some of the maintenance. Just did the rear brakes, rear diff (thanks to Stricken for the DIY), and am going to do the Transfer case today and maybe the oil. If people here recommend it I will probably do a drain and fill for the CVT as well soon.

Great little ride and has been reliable outside of a few things repaired under warranty. Gotta love 100k extended warranties. Site looks great and I love that all the DIY stuff is tossed into one thread. Almost feel like I'm cheating somehow by not having to tirelessly abuse the search function.

Hello from GA everyone. Recently, 6 weeks apart, we replaced our German cars (BMW 135i and Mercedes C230) with twin 2012 Rogue SL FWDs. One was purchased on August 1 and the second on Sept. 22. They have 4,300 and 1,800 miles respectively since we drive quite a bit around here. Really enjoying them so far with only a couple of minor issues. Some sibilance from the Bose systems (Bose is sending special diagnostic disc), a rattle in the cargo area of the 1.800 mile one. Also, it is funny how two identical vehicles can be quite different. The driver's seat in Rogue1 (4300 miles) does not rub against the armrest and squeak but it does in Rogue2 (1800 miles) and drives me nuts. Overall they are delightful, happy little vehicles.

The only differences are that Rogue1 came with illuminated kick plates, Rogue2 did not.
Rogue2 has bumper protector, Rogue1 does not.

Here is a photo, one leaving and one returning:

hey guys, new 2011 Rogue owner here. Never had a Nissan before, I came from an Acura 2005 TSX that Was just about done! I'm definitty used to sports luxury, but we decided to get something bigger & more reliable during the winter months out here in Northern NJ! It was actually an unexpected purchase as we went to the dealership to replace my girlfriends 1999 Toyota Corolla and ended up leaving with a new 2010 Toyota Corolla with 20k miles on it for her for $310 a month, and then the 2011 Rogue with 55k miles for me for $300 per month. we traded in her old car as well as mines and only put $500 down! I feel like we got a great deal! The Rogue is pearl white and is a base Model with no options. I'm definitely getting used to the different type of ride but the more I drive it as well as look Some pictures of other Rogues here, the purchase is growing on me. I'm looking to tint the windows/taillights, replace the radio, put some fog lights and some Other mods! Looking forward to getting to know everyone here and getting to know my car more!
