Not really. Only under ultra ideal laboratory conditions is that the case. In the real world, More cylinders almost always means you spend more time at lower RPM. Which means you're saving fuel.nissangirl74 wrote:Your gas mileage will suffer
THAT'S IT?!?!?!!?!?!!?!? what a crock, if that isn't enough to tell you that the 4 banger is carp, then idk what to tell you. you won't be modding it as soon as you leave dealer property, you still have warranties to void. by the time you can change things without fear of losing your warranty, there will be tons of options for the v6, and you won't get bored waiting for that time to roll around.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:The sticker said it had 210ish hp

That is the single most horrifically ugly car ever conceived by man. And they're even uglier in person. Wheels can't compensate for ugly of that magnitude. "Lipstick on a pig" doesn't even come close.HashiriyaS14 wrote:I love this thing.
I think part of the reason everyone gives the new 3 such a hard time is that its predecessor was one of the best looking and most widely-loved compact cars ever. Tough act to follow, and I think Mazda made a mistake in being so aggressive with the styling update. Magazines always b**** and moan about "evolutionary styling" but I think something more subtle and conservative would have been a better move.krimsonviper wrote:Oh ha ha. Like I haven't heard something similar about it's looks. How about giving it a chance a$$, instead of following the crowd. Have you even seen one in person?
I totally agree with everything said here. For the price of the V6 Genesis, you could buy a GT Mustang instead. But which would you rather have? A 300hp car that keeps up with 350Z's or a 412hp car that keeps up with E92 M3's?f1seb wrote:OP here's what you're doing wrong. You're looking to buy a slow car to make it faster. Just buy a fast car and make that faster. I'm sure you can find a nice used fast car as a better platform than what this Genesis offers. This car came with a lot of hype behind it but came up with a bunch of letdowns. 2.0T or V6 are going to suck your wallet dry in a constant hunt to go faster. The new 2011 Mustang V6 will easily keep up and probably beat the V6 Genesis, let's not even talk about the 5.0's cause that will be like picking a fight with an infant.
Whoever suggested the "new" Mustang V6 is garbage and the Genesis V6 is better didn't read up on what Ford has had in the works. I've had a go at both of the 2.0T and the V6 and when I told the owners that their cars were "good" I was being nice and lying.
odd, none of my exes bought genesises. hey sbird, did we f***?snwbrdr435 wrote:The way i see it, looking into getting a genesis is like looking into getting herpes
parked. in the median of a multi-lane road. yeah, aboot dat, eh. the article i linked states that it slammed into concrete. even if it were parked, how would you explain the bent steering wheel?asoomal wrote:turbonxsx wrote: Wheres the Blood at
Maybe the car was parked and turned off?
Could explain the air bags.

Maybe airbags are options in Korea?numbnuts240 wrote:

Bending absorbs and dissipates energy. But it's still not as ideal as an airbag. And the amount of force required to bend the wheel is greater than what's required to do serious damage to bodyparts.Razi wrote:Bent steering wheels are what you want, iirc.
You don't want your head to come into contact with a solid thing of steel that won't bend.
