So to cliff note it...

I have used Discount Tire for over 7 years now; GREAT prices, top notch customer service blah blah blah.

I went to DT back in July to get two new rear tires 255/40 17R's. Everything went fast and friendly.... as far as I knew. The guy did forget to put my valve stem caps back on and I had to point that out to them.

Fast forward to today when I jack up my car to install my new ISIS testpipe only to my dismay to discover this.....

I guess the jack@ss thought is would be a good idea to jack up my car utilizing the frame rail.... I am super pissed about this and I am going back tomorrow to give them the ol WTF!!

Any ideas? I want to have them pay to fix it however I might be inclined to get my next set of tires for free as compensation.

Call the 1-800 number before going to the shop. A big company like that will pay to fix it, shop accidents happen. Get a repair estimate first thought.

well, a shops legal obligation is to keep the keep the customer informed...

go to the shop and threaten them by saying that your going report them to the B.A.R. (bureau of automotive repairs) if you arent compensated for the repairs...

I actually think I spoke to your dad once. He stopped me while I was leaving work to ask about my car and he mentioned you and how you wanted to buy one (this was a long time ago like a year +)

If I can be of help just let me know.

First tip... clean the engine bay...lol

What's up, sorry to hear about your ride, but this doesn't really have anything to do with it. My dad is the crew leader in hangar one, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind you dropping by, he might drive it there sometime in the next couple weeks to get a sticker. His name is David Adams and he says he's seen a couple s14's at the base, I'm guessing one is yours. I just got a '91 s13 a couple weeks ago and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction as of what to do. Here's a couple pics of it, my name is Geoff btw. Thanks

He says he doesn't remember talking to you, (he has kinda bad memory tho so I'm inclined to think he forgot) but yeah, can you send me a couple pics of your car because i don't have a photobucket. My email is [email protected].

It was the discount tire in Oceanside off Plaza by College BLVD east of the I-5. Funny thing is I've gone to that one for the last 7 years with no issue. I really HATE letting other f*kers work on my car.... I don't, however, see myself buying a wheel mounting machine so what can I do?

I fly in the helicopter (aircrew/AO) not a pilot. They leave that up to the college yuppie f*ckers who think they know it all.

you should look for a spare set of wheels and just bring them in for mounting, sure its a PITA but you wont soon forget this incident and less willing to even let the f***ers look at your car.

thats pretty rad about the helis, do you guys do a lot of live fire exercises? what kind of weapons, if any do you guys fire? im always curious about what the hell is blowing up and being shot down there.

I fire these from the helicopter.....

GAU-19/A .50 cal gatling gun.... fires either 1000 or 2000 RPM which I select at the flip of a switch.

Below is the GAU-16/A Browning .50 cal machine gun... cyclic rate of 650-850 RPM.

We do low level gun runs and the helo itself has 70mm 19(x2) shot rocket pods.

Well in the guys defense....... would you not think that a cars FRAME RAILS could support the car? I would think so...... as would most people unfamiliar with the car. It's a big company they got money it'll get fixed or they';ll give you the cash that it would cost to get fixed.

To me... That's an excuse to weld some new box steel frame rails in.

This has also inspired me to weld in some jack pads on the unibody frame rails.

Had the same thing happen to me at my Discount, but I caught it as the guy was doing it. I brought it to the managers attention, and suprisingly he was a pro about it. They actually have a body shop they send their little "accidents" to.

I would try the same approach with them.

Yikes.That's pretty bad.

What I'm wondering right now is this,

Can you PROVE that it was them who did it?For some reason, I could see the company simply saying that they didn't do it and you cannot prove it was them.

I hope this isn't the case, but we live in a time where people don't like to be responsible for their actions.
