Same here. Unless I really feel like working in which case I will load up the 4x4 whose bed is about 5" off the ground.94_240sx wrote:I take only wheels and tires to DT and have them work on. I also give like $10 tip and they do great job with no scratches or damage. Then I come home and put them on myself. Usually, I take two wheels to DT, so it takes two days finish the job, but no complaints at all.
wow i used to be in the marine corps and live off collage blvd in the barnard courts apts , what a small world!!!ddgsxr504 wrote:
It was the discount tire in Oceanside off Plaza by College BLVD east of the I-5. Funny thing is I've gone to that one for the last 7 years with no issue. I really HATE letting other f*kers work on my car.... I don't, however, see myself buying a wheel mounting machine so what can I do?
I fly in the helicopter (aircrew/AO) not a pilot. They leave that up to the college yuppie f*ckers who think they know it all.
The diff. and if you need to get to the front use ramps. NEVER jack up a 240sx using the frame rails.Kardon403 wrote:Could I ask where would be the best spot to jack up these cars to avoid that kind of stuff from happening?
They don't do stick on weights, so yea I could use the hobby shop if I wanted clip on weights sitting on the lip of my wheel looking like @ss.maj Andres wrote:

There should be a sticker on the jack that shows you the jack points.Kardon403 wrote:Could I ask where would be the best spot to jack up these cars to avoid that kind of stuff from happening?
Ehhh.... it's not for everyone, you gotta put up with a lot of sh*t to make it 20 years.spooled240 wrote:i wanna join the marines there's a good chance i'll join after i get this degree out of the way
I started testing them back in 2001 in PaxRiver Maryland. Camp Pendleton is the only base to have them and we recieved the first ones in summer of 2006.pacotaco345 wrote:Ooo, you fly in the fancy new four blades, when did you get those??
everytime i lift my 240, or any car, i lift it from the pinch welds. ive been a mechanic for 8 years and we lift almost all cars by these. it doesent smash the welds cause the weight is evenly distributed.Philipio wrote:Wow, that really sucks. I jacked my car up by the frame rail for the first time the other day instead of using a pinch weld. My jack destroys the pinch weld. Very glad nothing happened to my car. I need to get a low profile jack so I can jack it up by the crossmember like I'm supposed to.
How is the car supposed to be supported on a lift? It's been about two years since I've had my car on one but I'm pretty sure I remember the lift "arms" being under the frame rails.
Someone needs to call Discount Tire and let them in on this little trade secret.240tunerguy wrote:

i dont know why they would floor jack it.... i guess thats how they do it at DT. i have a friend that works there and he said they floor jack stuff all the time. i love using lifts. why wouldnt they, its so much easier. hopefully they take care of the problem. most major corporations do.ddgsxr504 wrote:
