Just curious if any of the original depositers are still waiting on a motor from afterdark. Reason I ask is because I am still waiting.

I'm still waiting too. i'm having a little problem with Afterdark right now. For the last 3 weeks or so i've been calling, leaving messages, sending E-mails, and i even left Adam a message on his instant messenger and i have received no communication from them at all. About a month ago he told me the engines were in and he was sorting through them and they should have been going out in a week's time and that was the last time i heard from them. I'm not a happy camper at the moment

Has anybody actually received their engine, other than those who went to the shop and got their swaps done there. I thought we were supposed to get the very first engines

Pics of it installed in his car?? Where?? I see pics of it on an engine stand, but not in the car. Last I knew he was waiting on his GT2835R to arrive before dropping in the motor.

Yes I have. I received it about a month ago. Although I didn't have it shipped to me, I drove 4 hrs to pick it up. I was Customer #2 according to my invoice/receipt. I paid in full, back in November. The wait definitely sucked! But I did eventually get my motor. I think Adam was just annoyed with me calling everyday so he broke down and gave me a motor.Impressions:It all looked pretty clean. Nothing broken, nothing missing. The turbo was a little loose (common problem) so I took the opportunity to replace the exhaust manifold and turbo gaskets while the motor was out of the car. Also took oil pan off, cleaned it out, and banged out the slight dent. There was a little oil in the turbo, but it may just be from shipping, not sure yet. Also this motor apparently used to be mated to an automatic transmission although it had a manual attached to it when I got it. Not something adam would have known unless very carefully inspecting it (seeing that it had a 6 wire TPS and a couple extra plugs on the harness), so I can't blame him. Just created a little more work for me, (the lower engine/transmission harness had to be completely rebuilt to work in my car which was never an automatic) but not that big of a hassle if you have an FSM and atleast half a brain. Other than the transmission there were no signs of any other modifications. It even still had the stock downpipe attached to it.I fired it up for the first time on Saturday. Started on the first try (after cranking a few times to build oil pressure). I've only driven it about 10 feet so far because I don't have my brakes done yet. Apparently those are important for stopping or something :D Plan on finishing that up today though.I'll let you know how it drives. Seems to run fine so far.

yeh i finally got mine. But the turbo was bad so a new one is on the way: HKS GT2835R. and it should be in my hands by wed. Now after discussing how to put it on with another guy who runs a gt2835 , I was convinced into buying a FMIC. So the HKS type S should be here by friday. This is going to be a busy week :) Also when i talked to adam he was saying that he was getting a phone call almost every other minute , and this mean he would have to stop working to answer it. And in the Automotive business this is real bad , because now you lose your train of thought , and might forget somehting. So he was letting all the phone messages pile up and taking a full day dedicated to just answering them .keep checking my cardomain site for more pics soon.

I have an engine and downpipe coming from afterdark. I paid in full about 2 months ago. I talked to adam about my engine about an hour ago. He said that the shippers forgot one of his engines, so they had to turn around and go get it. He said that the engines should be in by tomorrow and then he'll ship them out. Sure i've been waiting awhile, but i think its totally worth it. I'm so excited I think i'm gonna blow a load when it gets here. :boink Adam is still just trying to get everything smoothed out with his business....he's getting there...just be patient.Trent

No you haven't been waiting awhile, people like me who prepayed around thanksgiving and still have not received anything have waited.

I know you guys have waited longer than I have, however these 2 months felt like 2 years to me. I cant imagine how 8 months would feel. I'm just sayin, hang in there...it'll be worth the wait. Trent

Yeah, I hope everything goes good with all of your ****. 'Cause if I get an SR I was thinking of going with Afterdark. Mainly because he was a good part of NICO before he opened shop, I figured he be a good source. So far I haven't heard anything bad, except this wait.

Got my brakes working so I took it out for a drive around the neighborhood. Everything still seems to be running strong, no problems as of yet. While it's fun to drive with no hood and bumper (you get alot of odd looks), I'll have to get that stuff all back on before I take it out on any highways to see it's full potential and give it a good test run, but so far so good.

Any of you with Afterdark's phone number please email it to me. I also ordered back during thanksgiving and I have since lost his phone number. I would really like to get this going!

I ordered my engine from him in Nov. The wait has sucked. I also had them do my swap. As of yesterday Adam claims there are only 3 swaps left from the origional depositors. I know because I drove down there yesterday and talked to him. When I went down we wrote up a contract of guaranteed delivery for this Tuesday at midnight. We both signed it.

Yes the wait has sucked and we have all probably been jerked around, but I saw the engine in my car. It looks good. The catch. They installed it and then found it to have a rod knock. They are putting a new one in and delivering it with an apology and a guarantee.

Over all, I would say they are trying and just not keeping up with our expectations or their own expectations for their new business. I wish them the best and even though I feel like an idiot for sticking with them, I am glad I stuck it out.

Oh, I also strongly recomend talking directly to Adam. I have been lied to repeatedly by some of his employees. He tells me they are gone now. Fired, whatever. Ask for Adam if they answer the phone.

I am waiting, since 1/31/03. It is supposed to be here Sunday 07/27/03 or Monday 7/28/03. I have a picture of the SR sitting in MY engine bay as my desktop, so yeah I am giddy like a schoolgirl.

They were not fired, they quit because Adam didn't have the money to pay them at the time. Torry is a good freind of mine from when he lived here in Orlando, and trust me when I say that he WOULD NOT lie to anybody about anything.

Man I have been waiting on my S15 frontend for like 5 months already. What is he telling you about the conversion? It pisses me off cause I couldn't get my car painted. I wont be able to get my engine put in until my engine bay gets painted (same time as whole car). I waited for 8 months on the SR as well, then I call it quit and went with RB swap that is coming next week.
