I know, I know...this thread is kinda pointless without pictures of mine to lead off, but I just picked the truck up Saturday and haven't had the chance to get any yet. I promise to take some and put them here tomorrow.

Anyway, are there any more lifted QX4s out there? I don't think I've seen any until I found mine. If so, post some pics and list your mods. Thanks in advance...

I have NOT seen a lifted QX4 yet. . I think it'd be that much cooler being beefed up yet retaining the Infiniti badging

I do have a question--- All-mode / auto 4wd. . does lifting it and adding a substantially larger tire / wheel throw this off and cause it to lock more frequently / less frequently, or does it still work well? I like it for mixed driving / ice patches / rain

I wanna see some m-fin pics!!

Congrats on your purchase

well then you need to take a look at 4x4parts.com forums.... there are a small # of lifted QX4's in the USA (probably less than 25) Yes, lifting the QX4 on springs can cause problems, the CV axles can wear prematurely if at an extreme angle (warn hubs will relive this problem but u still risk breaking them in 4x4) oh and the struts can top out and make noise. The subframe lift eliminates this problem but the problem is, your subframe is still low to the ground, larger tires like 34's can definitely relieve this problem. This is the same stuff at R50 pathfinder, which a lot more of are lifted in the USA. The guy who runs pradolifts.com has 35's on his R50 pathfinder, first to do so ever in the US.

I've been stalkin' Pradolifts. . turns out he posts here now I guess. . haven't been on 4x4parts in awhile. . I'll take a gander. . good info in this post, sir. . thank you. . I may not lift, may instead just get beefier tires. . I don't get to do a LOT of offroading around here anyway. . it's all mostly farm land, with the exception of The Badlands.

I have a QX4 on stock suspension and 31" mud tires on 16x8 weld rims, and it handles terrain pretty well! I've offroaded through rivers during storms, 500 miles into Baja, snow, beach, etc and rarely get stuck. I would like some clearance though...

wow, I forgot all about matt's rig. I saw it one time before he sold it on the highway, it looked amazing. I kinda wish I'd bought that instead of my dad's Denali Looks like it's been sold a couple of time then. Is the truck in Virginia still?

Are you going to wheel it at all? I hope so.

And fueler, you ever going to lift yours. Yours is my favorite qx4 with those wheels, just got to get it up some more

This it?

Fueler: that your Qx4 on STOCK susp? I realize it's flexing, but that looks about perfect for me. . I like lifted, but honestly I'm cheap. . maybe just some 31s and wheels and I'll call it a day.

no no no no LOL, that's the one talked about at the top of the post. That is 6" of lift with 34" SSR's. Fueler's is on stock suspension with 31" mt's, with KICK *** wheels. (although he should lift it )

Well it's f-ing beautiful. I wanna see what a non-lifted one with beefy tires looks like . . haha. .

Thanks for all the helpful info in the other threads. . good stuff. There may be hope for me yet. I know the R50 doesn't LIKE to be lifted, but I like something unique. . everyone has a Jeep. They're great and all, but I don't NEED a solid axle :o

Here is Fueler's stock rig when he tried to fool us saying he lifted it the front is on jacks. The rear is pretty much at a stock height. I'm sure he has better pics, I remember some cool ones he posted of the truck down in Baja. This would be pretty close to what it would look like with the AC lift, just not as nosed-up.some more

Whoa didn't expect pics of my ride!! I'm surprised anybody liked it enough to save pics of it lol!!

OBX your pathfinder is bad *** bro, i want to go wheel on some east copast beaches some time.... i needsome lift like yours, you have spacers and springs don't you?

What backspacing is on your wheels? PS - didn't your bumper have some damage in the past? If so, somebody did a hell of a job cleaning it up!

Fueler: I dig your ride.

Any issues with tire rubbing with the setup you've got? I'd love to lift mine, but for what I do it may not be worth the effort.

Wow, never thought we'd see Matt's old QX4 again!

Not trying to detract any members from this site, but there are a few others that have a ton more members with lifted rigs. Like already mentioned, join 4x4parts.com. I'd like to see some current pictures of that thing.

Please, our beaches are fun, but you have BAJA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus only 2% of beaches over here allow you to drive on it lol. Yeah, I have the AC springs and the custom made strut spacers. If you order the AC springs, I am getting a few sets of spacers made hopefully, and I'll save a set for you if I can get a few. DO IT!!!!!!!! For the life of me I cant remember the bs on the wheels. I went back through some old posts but couldnt find it. It pushed the tires out about and inch or so.

And yeah, I ripped the front bumper off on a log a few months backs, but I was able to pop it back into place without breaking any mounts. Then last may I hit somebody and ruined it, but got it replaced. My rear bumper hangs just a little low on the left side from when my entire tire/wheel came off on the interstate

I think that for a spring lifted R50, the minimum backspacing for rims is 4.25" I am not sure though, i should research b/c if I can lift on my current rims, you bet your *** i will do that.

I am considering the subframe lift as well, then I could use my rims, what do you think of the prado lift OBX?

I'd put it on my rig.

In other words, I think it was very well designed and engineered, and assembled. Tyler spent a LONG time on in and I'd trust it. It returns the CV's to a near stock angle, while my lift puts extreme stress on them. Do it!! Do Something lol!!

the only thing making me not get the subframe lift right now is the price of new tires. Ill have to save up for a month or so, so i can buy my new tires along with the lift.

OBX4x4 - Yes, thats my truck haha. Thats awesome that you guys already know the guy that had it first. He sold it to that dealership in Fredericksburg, VA, it had another owner for about 3 months, and that guy sold it back to the same dealership. I found it in Truck Trader and instantly fell in love.

It still looks the same, minus the light bar/roof rack. Of course Im gonna take it offroad, it begs for it every time I drive it.

I live in southern PA, so it is still in the same area. I have a set of Mickey Thompson Classic beadlock rims with a set of less agressive tires for every day. Im trying to get better gas mileage...I managed to squeeze 200 miles out of my last tank...the first tank only lasted about 150 miles. HORRIBLE.

Thanks again guys...I will have new pics ASAP. I don't get off until 5, so its always dark by the time I get home to take pictures. This weekend, I promise.

yeah it a great lookin truck, congrats! If you decide later to get tires for both on and off road, check out the trXus MT. It's kinda the "condensed" versions of the SSR's that you have, but do AWESOME on road, and off, and they're pretty inexpensive. On mine:

well right now my alignment is all f-ed up so I'm getting a little wear. I shouldn't be seeing this wear this early in the tire's life. With proper balancing and alignments I should see around 40k with them

*edit* oh, and the wheels have 4" of backspacing

yeah Pro Comp wheels from 4wheelcustoms.com, same with the beadlocks. The rings were on an international backorder for 3 months, and I got the second set that came off the assembly line , or so I was told

negatory, they used to rub when i went in reverse with the steering wheel at full lock but they have worn down and i'm not sure if they even do that anymore.

Or maybe i've just become accustomed and don't reverse at full lock? i'm not sure, either way it's not a problem.
