Still looks great.

Would you mind elaborating on the fender flares? It says you have 4" flares, but it looks like the flares are removed?

werd. . that is incredible. So, to recap, these lifts are all custom, right? Any resources for R50 lifts, such as a step-by-step and a list of everything needed / where to obtain?

I want that. :o

it does look good. Congrats again. Your close enough to Virginia. Go check out VAXC (Virginia Xterra Club) We do lots or runs throughout the year, not too far from you, and it's great group of people. I want to wheel with that thing some time, go join!!!

To make a long story short, here's how it went.

A guy named Keith was the first person (that I know of anyway) to make one of these lifts in the US. There was a lot of interest in them, so he decided he was going to sell them. He made two test kits and sent them out, and that QX4 received one of them. He decided that he wasn't going to sell them. I think due to how much work it would be and liability.

That's where I decided that I would take over the project and make them available to the public. Basically took Keith's lift design and changed a few things, and now it's in the testing phase as well. I promise I won't disappear anytime soon.

Here's the main pieces of the kit:

From looking at the pics, I can get the idea of how it goes down -- and it's pretty exciting. My primary concern is the CV angle -- how's that puppy work out?

I want.

your cv's will be fine. This lift keeps them at a near stock angle by pushing the subframe down.

I wish I still had that one sitting here.

That kit in the picture was the one that got sent to Max. He's basically finishing up his kit right now and I'm planning on making a batch of 5 or 6 of them ASAP. Max and I are trying to figure out all the liability crap right now.

I'll get you one soon!!!

I think I recall that being mentioned :o Excelllllllent.

edit -- yup you did :o :
OBX4x4 wrote:Well the coil lift (mine) places tremendous stress on the cv axles. His lift drops the subframe so the cv's are at a near stock angle.

Fueler: I notice you have "independent fog control"does this mean you can turn 'em on with just parking lights / alone / etc? I want to be able to switch mine on with parking lights only if I so choose.

Weird, but foreign model Nissans have this option.

Yes, i did it with a $4 radio shack relay and a little bit of wire soldering, there is a how-to on 4x4parts.com if you go under the R50 FAQ, ill look it up once i am at work and on a faster connection. They have it set up like that for inspection in east coast states, thats why foreign models have an option! you'll see some pics of it tomorrow.... gotta go upload them...

Sorry for the slow response again...

tmorgan and nissandoms, the flares are not pictured. They are the universal rubber flares (look like the black rubber molding that goes where the wall meets a tile floor). I only put them on to pass inspection, along with 285/75R16 MPT's. Since changing the tires it drastically improved the ride quality, but dropped the height a good 2 inches. As soon as its inspected this week, the SSRs are going back on.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I hope to meet up with some of you on the trails soon!

EDIT: I just put a picture of it with the other tires and fender flares on my cardomain, so check it out...

Thanks!!

EDIT: I ran out, grabbed the RS relay, and did this -- works like a charm!! I've been wanting to do this for YEARS on my 97 240sx, but nobody could help me. .

Thanks

Oh yeah, and that 'splains the fogs. . It weirds me out a bit because many domestic models allow for this, but not Nissan, even though Nissan permits this abroad -- would be nice to just have a relay from one of those vehicles. I bet that's the only dif.

Ok, forgive my incompetence but I have spent my whole life doing forced induction on cars and have only VERY basic knowledge of SUV's and the whole lifting concept in general. Therefor, it would be awesome if you could tell me what these spacers do. I am looking at the 2.5" AC lift, would the spacers make it a 3.5" lift or what? Also, durability is a major factor as this is my daily driver and I dont really like to have it breaking. Thanks.

SWEET thank tyler! Remember, it's 2 sets, both with hardware (i sent you the extra money) Sorry guys, I don't think i'm selling my last set. I am installing it. I mistakingly sold my first set for way too low of price.

I've been getting messages and PM's left and right, Tyler you could easily be running a small side business for extra cash!

more lift, they are exciting because they are not mass-produced in USA, and this is probably the last production run of them that will ever be made around here.

hah so the great product that everyone wants will not be available to me as the last one just got bought? Thats cool lol. I just bought a 2002 pathfinder today and plan on lifting it, I just want to find a way to do it reliably where it wont cause too many problems in the future. These spacers go on top of a lift or what?

yeah teh spacers go on top. You could go 2" lift springs from http://www.4x4parts.com Those work pretty well, inexpensive, and you still maintain good ride quality and dependability
