not pretty! does the S2000 pack that much punch?!?!

it doesn't sound like a stock exhaust, either.

anybody else come up against one of these?

Have you actually SEEN an S2000?? They're soo small...of course it's fast! Street bikes are fast too btw, I wouldn't race one with my G35.

Ya, I wouldn't be caught dead in that death trap...plus every time I see a miata, I think of that movie corky ramono and chris kattan singing in his little miata

- good one Joe

i posted this last night and guess who i should come across today on the hwy.... an S2000! there was a little traffic and he had allready gotten in front of me before we took off but it was AWESOME!!!! those things are fast AND nimble. we got'em up to 130!!!! very fun!

too trafficky to for a good "race" but i have to say it was close. i think i could've taken him, though.

would love a rematch! especially from a dead stop!

i highly reccomend playing with them!

I have raced my firend in his S2K and beat him every time if u think about it and s2k has 220Hp or something like that and like 150Tq. We have around 300 hp and 300Tq. based on the model u have. i also have a spacer and an intake. so if u really think about it there is no possible way an S2k should be beating any of u. power to weight ratio on the S2k is better but on a rolling start our TQ is just to much. those r my thought im not much of a honda person myself.

You talking about the stock S2000. With some mods you can go up 60-100 hp no problem.

I've raced an S2000, stock they really aren't that quick. But with a few mods (about $500 worth) it could keep up with a manual G35 coupe. The engine is so tiny that if you replace headers, it's about equivalent to rebuilding an entire exhaust on a regular car lol. Lots of potential, but no stock power.

As a side note, I was impressed with the '06 Mustang GT. I was heading down to the keys with my girl (about a 7 hour drive from Orlando), met up with Mustang, and we did about 145mph any time traffic opened up . Performance was about identical between our two cars. Then I just remembered it was a Ford, and it'll spontaneously combust in his garage

i've been curious about the new mustangs. they're a 300 hp a v8. i found out recently that the older models are only 225hp. they're both on the menu!!!!

yeah, i don't think the S2000's are much of a threat but they sure are nimble and fast on the hwy. off the line they'll just look even smaller in my rear view.

I raced an S2000 from entering the Hwy. It was awesome, launching from the service road and both entering the Hwy. I have to admit, that little thing is quick, he DEFINITELY pulled on me until we hit about 90-100MPH area then the gap stopped and slowly started to close.

As far as Mustangs, I've raced 2, only the GTs though. Beat one on the Hwy, seriously. The other was from a red light and neither of us could pull on eachother. LOL. It was a dead even as I have ever seen. Didnt have half the mods as I do now back then though.

I raced two brand new S2000's the other day. I have 04 AT Coupe w/Intake and Exhaust I am pretty sure they were still stock. We were on a toll road in So Cal, at first I only noticed the one of them and then at the last second I saw one running down the slow lane. I was in third going about 60 when the first one tried to come on me from behind. I just happend to be at about 4500 rpms and when I hit it he was left where he was. I slowed down and he tried to pass me again and this time I was in 4th gear at about the same rpm's I didn't have as much of a pull on him but he never passed me. The second one was comming a little faster then the first one but I was already on it when I saw him and I admit I thought he was going to pass me but I just kept on it and waited until I almost hit my limiter in 4th before I hit 5th gear and I was going about 140 when I noticed they gave up. The one thing you have to worry about with the S2000 is the vtech engine it has a power band that jumps the rpms after about 7k. If you can get to it before that you should be able to take it.

Ya, the Vtech engine will get you above 4800rpms. Hondas are known to have a very flat torque curve, thats part of the reason they feel slower than they actually are.

I personally have an Acura CL-S and the nissan VQ engine would eat me off the line. But over 30mph, I would have to say that my Acura J32 is faster than the VQ up to about 100mph.

Another reason for this is RWD vs FWd, but I am getting off the subject now.

VTEC on the new S2K kicks in at about 5200 i think but im not sure the first Gen. S2K feels alot quicker then the newer ones and the first gen S2K revs at 9 not a 8. my firends S2k is the first gen with I/H/E. and plans to get a hondata ECU. and get it re tuned so ill keep u guys posted. i also recently go my car reflashed and my exhaust should be on the way.

I just bought an 07 G35 sedan AT...sold an 05 Honda S2000 a week ago. No comparison, given both cars are stock, the G35 will burn the S2000. 306 HP eats up 240 HP even when you consider the difference in weight. 6cyl vs 4cyl. VTECH is great, but the sheer size of the G35's engine overcomes any technological wonder the S2000 throws at you.

first off...everyone please learn to spell VTEC. 2nd off...g35s are no faster than s2k's at the track. maybe up in highway speeds yes...but lower speeds...no. i have had both cars...there is an s2k in my garage right now and about to have a g35. and i have driven both for over a month. s2000 would jump off the line by a bit and the g will catch up towards the end. and its not VTEC that makes the car fast...that just helps. most cars now have their own way of valve timing...its just that hondas is still the best.

infinititech1 - "its just that hondas is still the best."

they'll spell VTEC correctly when you learn how and when to use the word "are" correctly.

haha. the joke is actually on you buddy.

hes not saying "hondas is the best"

hes saying that honda's VTEC "is" the best. therefore, "is" is the correct term to put there.
