nice vid. example. He makes it look pretty damn easy. I guess i'm making it harder than it is...i try ta over extend my right foot which buts a lot of pressure on my ankles.AXracer25 wrote:1st it heel-toe downshifting
2nd what kind of shoes are you wearing? its a lot easier in pumas compared to boots.
I'm 5'11 and i can do it fine, 2" wount make that much of a difference
but the first thing you have to do is learn your car, know what it sounds like at different speeds in different gears and what kind of rpm you need to get close to
once you get that down you just push in the clutch with ur left and the brake with your right toe, when you get almost to the apex of the corner rev the motor a lil higher than you need (to take in account rpm fall) by rotating your foot sideways and using the brake as a pivot point for your foot to hit the gas peddle
this is a good example of what you want your feet to do. Notice how he uses the heel toe to engine brake as well.

I think it looks really akward.WI_S14_Goldie wrote:I like how the guy does it in the vid posted above...looks more practicle for the average Joe with bigger feet.
That is more or less how I do it. I have pretty big feet (size 13 double wide) so the pedals are always pretty tight for me but I find this method to be a bit more comfortable and natural.hazukijitsu wrote:The guy in this video has boots on and is using half of his foot on the brake and the other half on the gas.

Same here. And I'm a bit tall on the 6'3" side.freakyjason wrote:I have pretty big feet (size 13 double wide)
That's how I do it. It's much easier, and simpler.hazukijitsu wrote:The guy in this video has boots on and is using half of his foot on the brake and the other half on the gas.

LOL, the same thing used to happen to me. Sometimes I'd end up locking all four wheels.pandapants wrote:I just started to learn this a couple of months ago. I always pressed the brakes too much and end up with my face in the wind shield. Practice makes perfect though.
I think the more common method is to angle the brake pedal.Scuffed_ChukiCoupe wrote:Ive seen people even angle the gas pedal at the bottom and have it pointing towards the brake, i guess to ease with performing the downshift.
