that is not something to LOL about, not here, not there, NOT ANYWHERE!Gr8plainsDrifter wrote:the new 370z does the rev matching for you lol.
^^^^^^^^^^^^Gr8plainsDrifter wrote:im sure it can be bypassed, its just a matter of time... and demand. cos who wants to go thru the trouble of having to learn the perfect downshift RIGHT before you enter a corner, and exiting with speed in the gear that puts you in the sweet spot of the power band.... thats a lot going thru your mind in the middle of an apex. unless your just doing it to save wear and tear on the vehicle.
A friend of mine had one in his goon when he bought it. Almost every time he hit the brakes he hit the gas too. He took it out.S133P3R wrote:^^cost?and how do they feel? im sure it feels better than beat 20 year old rubber things...i just ordered a pair of these, should help right?
im thinkin a set for the clutch and gas pedals as opposed to gas and brake.Papi Chulo wrote:A friend of mine had one in his goon when he bought it. Almost every time he hit the brakes he hit the gas too. He took it out.
wearing the right shoes does help.S13Teddy wrote:I wear skate shoes all the time. It really doesn't matter what kind of footwear you're wearing if you know what you're doing.
1. pinky toe cramps kill, and are probably to blame for some of the worst wrecks in auto racing history... although no one dares talk about the subject.2. clutchless shifting works on a motorcycle... well for the up part at least. Ive only clutchless shifted my car on 2 occasions: 1- my clutch pedal bracket broke while shifting, revd it up and dropped it in. 2- my clutch pivot broke, while driving... same thing... neither situation felt good.adrians_s13 wrote:wearing the right shoes does help. I remember one time I tried to heel toe with some snow shoes and my leg got cramped up! I had to pull over to the side, take my shoe off and massage my middle to pinky toes...
has anyone ever tried clutchless shifting? same concept, cept you don't need the clutch, you just need to match your revs.
its not bad aslong as ur synchros are good... and if u dont mind grinding everyonce in a while. if ur upshifting u just accel to somewhere above 2krpm and pull it out of gear hold it against the next gear and wait for the revs to drop and itll just drop into gear... u shouldnt force it but be ready for when the gear opens up cuz u only have a split second to get it into gear or itll grind. downshifting is the same concept just that u have to gas it to match and get it into gear. forcing it is a bad bad idea.adrians_s13 wrote:has anyone ever tried clutchless shifting? same concept, cept you don't need the clutch, you just need to match your revs.
WTF are you crying for? I'm on your guys side... I heel and toe all the time to save wear and tear on my drivetrain, and dont even have to think about it.S133P3R wrote:

Shoes definatly help. I use the 50/50? method with adidas that are fairly wide.adrians_s13 wrote:wearing the right shoes does help.

Hmmm... probably not the best idea if you want to keep your transmission running reliably. During heavy braking, this will also upset the rear end in comparison to a smooth heel-toe downshift.1KleenS13 wrote:Sometimes I dont use the clutch. It gets a little stiff trying to upshift, If you can hit it right on downshifting its a thing of beauty.
