I am driving an sr20det and I was wondering your guy's opinions on if I am ready to run more boost. My current supporting mods Huge front mount intercooler, 3 in exhaust, and walbro fuel pump. I have a aem wideband and run about 11.0-11.3 at wide open throttle and 13.5-14.2 normal driving. My current set up is running about 7 lbs of boost.

Do you think with my current set up the stock sr ecu could keep up with 12 lbs boost all the time?

If you are running stock injectors, I wouldn't push it much over 7lbs of boost. Upgrading the FPR, putting in a Z32 MAFs and 550cc injectors will prevent your motor from leaning out quite so bad and that should get you to your desired boost level. Of course, that will require an ECU tune as well. Of course your gas mileage will suck...

I'll let slide my question of why the hell you want to run that much boost in the first place.

I agree on the MAF and tune but I dont think you need bigger injectors. Im pretty sure mine are stock 370s[QUOTE=Encryptshun]Check out this thread and search for others.

Ive been running 12 PSI for over a year, I have a KA24E maf and stock 370 injectors, I have about the same mods as the OP except I have Nismo FPR, my AFR are around 11 under WOT, and the only time Ive seen my injector duty cycle at 100% is when my wastegate line blew off and I was boosting about 16 psi, (fuel cut is scary). Do some searching, you will find these are very common results.

PS if you know how to tune, just adding larger MAFS, Injectors, FPR and turning up the boost will not effect highway mileage. With a good tune and cruising at any given speed your fuel mileage should not be effected, If I drive like Im Paul Walker from F&F my milage sucks, if I drive like grandpa Joe, its better than my KA ever was.

To the OP

go ahead, turn up the boost, with a T25 and your current setup the injectors and MAFS will both start to reach 100% duty cycle about 14 PSI, getting an adjustable FPR is a good idea because the factory ones tend to fail due to the higher pressure walbro pump. What are you planning on using for boost control? If using an MBC make sure you are not spiking above 14 PSI or you could risk a lean condition, go have some fun and welcome to NICO, searching archived content will retrieve very fast answers to your questions.

Great replies guys thanks for the help. I boosted up to 10 psi today. I have a mbc and so far no boost spikes. I didnt push the car real hard but my afr was just fine at wot.

The turbo I have is a little smaller then stock. Its a t25 but it has an ar of .49 on the exhaust side and .60 on the compressor side. It was a cheap one to replace a blown stock t25.

I dont have a turbo timer yet but after driving it real hard how long should I let the car run to let the turbo cool? I havnt searched yet this is probally asked alot. After my 15 min of driving I let her run for about 3 min. Thanks again guys

with such a small turbo cool down time is rather short, even when my Mani and turbo are glowing after cone dodging it only takes 3 to 4 min to cool down, its good to hear you are letting it cool down though, too many people these days dont do it unless they have a turbo timer, and its very important.
