Family... sorry I haven't been available to update you guys on things... my computer's power adapter caught fire in the lab yesterday, so I'm without the internet during the day until next week

OK, I'm gonna check on those last two points and send that information to Sentient at my very earliest convenience... most likely this weekend!

For the record, I saw the gorunding kit on Daniel's car this morning iand it looks nice! The wires are thick, 99.9% Oxygen Free Copper, high strand count TRUE 4 gauge wiring (it actually looks a little bigger).

Nate, what are the last 2 points you are looking for? I can find it in the service manual in about 10 min.

You mofos would ask for blue after I specifically asked everyone which color they wanted in the last thread, then bought 2 spools of gray

Paypal is preferred. Email is in my profile.

i feel you, but you guys gotta make it worthwhile for him to buy a blue spool... italianbulldog85, see if you can garner up support from Mehdi, and other blue A/C's to get in on the grounding kits.. that way, he's not buying an entire spool for one individual... I've seen these wires, and no matter what discount sentient's getting, these things can't be cheap!

sorry about all the questions...this is one mod i've just never heard of and can't find much research about...

by installing the grounding wire kit are you bypassing the fuse box in anyway...aka leaving your car vulnerable to electrical failure? Or I think a better question would be: what are the disadvantages of a grounding kit, if any?

There is no bypassing involved.

There are 3 potential disadvantages:Weight- Somewhere around 3lbsA few wires in the way when making repairs-This is EXTREMELY minimal with the Altima. It produces a slightly more prominent situation on the VQ35s in the FM chassis due to the additional wires involved (not applicable to the Altima crew).Reintroducing Noise- This isn't applicable with my kits, but can be with other kits or if you buy a generic POS on eBay (I haven't seen a good one on there yet.). With a poorly designed kit, it is possible to take electrical noise from one system and introduce it into another system. That's not the case with my designs.

There's also a last disadvantage that doesn't really apply and isn't really a disadvantage, but I'll list it anyways. I've seen a couple kits (brands will remain anonymous) that make triangular paths. I see this as a complete waste of wire. If you have three points A B and C and A is connected to B and B is connected to C, there are only a few instances where it is necessary to connect A and C. This wire produces something like 1/2 an ohm of resistance per 1000 ft. Making the signal go an additional 12-18" isn't going to make a huge difference.

Once the kit is "complete", I will take orders on it. Those who want the gray kits, will get them as soon as they order them. I will take orders on the blue kits and they will get sent out once a sufficient number of orders come in. I basically need about 5 people to want blue kits and pay for them.

Current color options are Matte Gunmetal Gray, Matte Blue, Glossy Charcoal, Glossy Red.

I'll check into other options.

Just FYI,

I've been super busy the past week. I haven't forgotten about you guys and the Altima kits. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it by the end of this week and give you guys the word.

Post up if you want Blue.

Here is a picture of it

From what I can tell it work. One of my HID's wouldn't fire up at all with Auto lights and now it does, the stereo is a bit louder and the CVT is a bit more responsive now. I noticed that when its at 3k rpm and you give the gas pedal a quick tap it'll rise to 4k faster than before.

Oh another thing we found out in differences between the sedan and coupe in the engine bay is that the coupe battery is smaller and those small silver tubes on the engine are greenish looking on the coupe.

UPDATE

Here's the deal on wire colors. I can do matte gray, blue, and red...YES! Matte red was found.

However!!!! I'll need a few orders for the blue before I invest in a spool. AND there will be an $8/basic kit color charge for the matte red. I'm just passing on my cost difference on this one. I'm not double charging.

I might be able to cut the color charge by a buck or so if I get enough orders for that color.

BTW, I don't make it a point to trash talk other brands, because I think that's unprofessional. I do have something to say regarding Active Tuning's grounding kit...It's a joke. You can't randomly place wires (2 of which connect intake manifold to the strut towers on the 06 3.5L) and call that a grounding kit. Or charge $75 for 5 essentially useless wires.

I talked to Adidas and it looks like one of the two ground points that I was planning on was already taken care of (ECM and TCM are right next to each other under the hood).

The only other option that comes to mind right now is keeping the grounding kit the same but possibly beefing up the Big3 that the Doc mentioned. The kit would then be composed of 4 gauge wire for all of the grounding and 2 or 0 gauge for the Battery feeds.

I like paypal because it's quick and easy. The email in my profile is the one linked to my paypal.

I will be holding blue orders until I get 3 or 4, then I'll get a spool of blue.
