Seriously though, I feel like a lot of people talk about "rice" like we're in high school (I know some of you are but we all know how it is there). It's like, "ooo, lets not hang out with those people or not wear this or not say that, or not act like this cause then we're not 'cool' and people will make fun of us." I'm sorry, but I'm sick to death of attitudes like that. Be who you want to be and put whatever the damn hell you want on your car that you like if that's what you like. Who gives a god damn about "rice" anything. If you like it on your car, then that's what should be on your car because it's there to please you not anyone else.

I usually hate lambo doors on most cars but some reason I like it on your car. Probably because no one else has it? Remember it's your car, you do what you like. Even if I or other members bash on you.

I agree, there's been a lot of hating going on lately on this forum. It seems that the same people that say "This is my mod, and I don't care what you think", are the ones that hate the most on other people's mods.

Where is the love?

Like the first poster said, it only looks good with doors that don't have the door frame on top like the G35 Coupe, 350Z, or the Eclipse.

Hey, I like the way they look. I had briefly considered getting them on my last car, an '02 C230K but quickly realized... "I'm to old for this ****." You gotta have a certain style to justify that (IMO, of course) and that's just not me. But again, I like 'em.

Yes but after the US conversion rate Mehdi's post count is about 2000

Anyway, love your car altimawhitegray! I've always like lambo style doors but I would have to agree with Doc with his reasonings and experience with lambo doors. What style lip spoiler do you have and who makes your rims? what' the sizez and offsets? Looks like you're sporting a staggered look there

I would like to take back my earlier comments about the lambo doors being rice... I really don't think they are rice...

I mean you did ask us how we felt about them.. and this is like the second guy on here that had lambo doors and thought it was the coolest thing ever... the first dude didn't stick around too long, and I think its because we were less than friendly to him (well not me) regarding his doors...

Honestly, I do still think they are played out and will cause depcreciatrion in your vehicle, but that in itself doesn't qualify them as being rice.

On the last thread, I was simply trying to warn him of things to come dealing with the vertical doors... I'm not someone speaking without experience.. i had them back when they first came out.. I actually had one of the best weld on kits out there at the time... I was just disappointed at how quickly they began to cause issues, and all the problems valets, dates, service folks etc caused my doors.

So, after careful thought, I'm recanting the rice comments, but my sentiments about the use of these on a daily driver, the eventual inevitablilty of their sagging and failure and need to continuously tweek them, still stand strong. Enjoy your whip and NICO dude, but in the future, if you start a thread asking folks what they think about a mod, don't expect to always get positive comments.

I've had folks to clown my "excessive" use of monitors and overkill of a stereo system.. but my car has been sponsored by a couple of companies and I got paid to put it in a car magazine, so to hear foks with bone stock cars complain about it means absolutely nothing to me.. these comments we make should mean absolutely nothing to you either... do your mods for YOU not us... don't worry about or ask what WE say or think about your car!

The COLOURS in my signature stands for Cool Outrageous Lovers Of Uniquely Raw Style... its about doing you and not giving a *uck what other people think about your style!

Just my additional .03

I like it. I'm canadian. Would i do it? No.

I don't think its very practical and I wouldn't want the attention you get from opening your doors. I already hate the attention I get from the car as it is. ( People look at my car and treat me differently.. I've tried to hide it for a bit but its been discovered at my work place. Which isn't an area where anyone would see a car like this). But i think it looks really nice and clean. I like the look, it flows. Just that it may be hard getting in and out.

About the Greddy. When i first thought rice i would think Civic with huge muffler that inc HP by 1 or 2. (Although the driver would say somewhere around 400+hp) But, How does the term rice work? For the 3.5ers out there isnt 270hp alot? I mean, putting on a high flow exhaust must give more HP then putting one on a dinky 150 hp + car. My point being that rice is a car with a crap load of non-performance (or {"performance") mods on a car that is garbage.

I understand that putting on vents and a huge 1000'' wing spoiler would be rice but not a big exhaust on a big car.

LOL he isn't persecuting he is speaking from experience, I believe the doc had lambo doors on his previous car, I recall him mentioning that the hinges eventually go and your door never sit right after.

Exactly... if you read all of my posts on the subject of lambo doors, the general theme involves the initial gratification and excitement being replaced with the realization that these are not meant for everyday vehicles, and the eventual wear and tear of opening the doors everyday takes a toll on the welds (good kit) or the bolt on hinges (poor kit), and eventually on the doors as they bang violently when the door lock mechanism misses the latch by a half inch or so.... I understand the enthusiasm that you guys (mchedaddi) have that have never owned these before, but I speak from experience with these doors, not from the uninformed exuberance with which you younger guys view these.

And again, excluding the eventual damage they will cause to the vehicle, from just a looks standpoint, if someone gets them because they think its in style or because they think it'll impress a lot of other people, I think that boat sailed years ago, and they are no longer consiered the "it" mod to a vehicle. But if they are getting them purely for themselves without caring that they are no longer in style or popular, then that's fine.... just don't befooled into thinking that everyone that looks at them while you're getting out of your car is impressed... more than likely, they are saying.. "da8n, those are really played out"

i don't think the recent comments were in response to the OP, but rather the new "lambo door " kid on the block that resurrected this thread in the first place

The Altima Coupe is one sexy car, please don't ruin it with Lambo doors. The only people you're really impressing are high school kids.

That was a weld on kit? I would say it wasn't easy to install! You better make dang sure it's right before the tack welds are in place or else screwed!

Hey I see you have Lambo doors on this Altima coupe. My question is that I have a 06 Altima 4-door sedan and am looking for suicide doors that go out to the side( horizontally) not up. Do you know where I could a kit like what asking? Thank you and have a good day.
