Seeing is I might trade my beloved 3rd gen for something else I was contemplating trading it in for a 09 Civic Si, then I started looking into the Altima Coupe. Just have a few questions.

1) How much did you guys pay, and how much were you guys able to knock down off the price that they were giving you (i.e. did you throw them in the invoice price negotiation)?

2) I think the 2.5S loaded is a big waste of money (no offense to those who have 2.5S coupes that are fully loaded) but I was building my own 2.5 S and all I wanted was a sunroof and some rims and BAM slammed with 30k, i couldn't believe it.

3) 3.5SE's don't come with standard sunroofs?

No, but they DO come with standard moonroofs.

Don't try to compare a Civic Si with an Altima Coupe... the A/C does cost more but it is much more car for the money. They are in different leagues.

I got $1500 off a Canadian base 2.5 (base in Canada has sunroof, heated power seats, alloy wheels...) I paid about $31000 out the door, but our cars in Canada cost way more than yours.

I know we get screwed! Last summer when our dollar was on par Canadians were buying cars in the states like crazy. A BMW 7-Series was $30000 more here!

none taken....I got the 2.5 because I like to have decent gas mileage and not have to fill with premium everytime I'm at the pump. If I want to go fast, my zx6r will smoke just about everything with 4 wheels.

I was originally quoted 26,500 for the 2.5 with premium package (no tech). At the end of the day I was able to talk them down to 21,900 OTD. Depends a lot on your negotiating skills. I opted to put all of my local dealerships in a bidding war and came out on top since I could care less which dealership I bought them from.

Icey, you need to cross over to the coupe side. At the very least... DON'T GO HONDA ON US!

If you're looking for a 2.5, you don't need to go all out to get what you said you want. For sunroof and rims, (What I have)... you're looking at 21-23 for it depending on how good your negotiating skills are. I can give you the number of the guy I got mine from. He's the internet sales manager.

The convenience package has everything you need and more. You don't need a premium package or all that.

I picked up my fully loaded '09 3.5SE lemon for 31k before fees/warranty/etc. Dealership originally wanted me to pay MSRP (33k) +fees/warranty but I knocked it down. Out of pocket I paid somewhere around 27-28k in cash because insurance declared my Accord a total loss

Looking back now, I probably should've just walked out and found another dealership or waited a bit longer. I wanted a 6MT version but they were a bit hard to find. Also, the manager absolutely refused to let the car go for 3k under MSRP regardless of the fact that the economy's in the toilet, end of discussion, have a nice day.

Their service department isn't the best either, but that's another story...

I got sick to my stomach when I saw a post on the "other" Nissan board where someone claimed to have knocked off as much as 5k off MSRP on a fully loaded 3.5. Ugh.

don't go the ricer way on us A/Cs's !!

but yeah its totally up to how you negotiate with your salesman, i got my 2009 2.5 A/C for 20k .. i just delt with all the crap they were saying like, u need this, and that.. and just stop them in there track... basically take control of how u wanna buy your car.. oh and i guess it helped that i paid 19k in cash.. i was gonna buy a civic Si too LOL

good luck.. an a/c is a much more of a car then any civic IMO

Man me and my parents must suck b@ll$ at negotiating. I was originally looking for a Black or White 3.5SE MT and then after some thought

went to a Black 3.5SE CVT

then because I didn't want to steal all of my parents money chose the 2.5 cvt.

edit: we did get lojack, alarm pager (1mi distance), free car wash, and free oil changes (not sure if thats for everybody)

29.8K Out the door

3.5SE CVT, Tech, Premium, VDC, etc.

pretty much fully loaded. The only thing i still sort of regret is that i didnt get the 6MT. I love my CVT in rush hour everyday, but anytime i want to go out and just drive to relax, i miss my old MT.

$24k out the door (Convience package). I didn't want leather or V6 or 3k navigation and Bose system. I'll do my own sound for less thank you. I pay $411/mo @ 7.95%. I thought of refinancing in the future, but I realize i'm lucky to get the rate I did since this recession business started... Love my car

22,500 (around there) w/tax+registration for a 2.5S base 6mt. I was only looking for a good looking car with good gas mileage till I finish school.

Did a 10k down and pay 365 a month.

I paid $23,287 out the door for a 2.5 CVT /w covenience package. I don't know what's the deal with Florida but I don't think you can beat VPP (employee discounting) with just your negotiating skills... Unless you finance, which of course, you pay more than you sign for ultimately. If what people are saying is true, then that would mean I would've gotten a better deal without going to a Nissan worker to get a VPP code, which then, I would have to present to the dealer, which then, they go through the process of showing me invoice price and such. Again, I highly doubt that.

BUT!!! If you really talked down 5k... Great for you... Really, I fail as an Asian.
