I didn't say everyone overpaid. My point was there is no reason to be far from invoice pricing. Even the most loaded A/C I can come up with has invoice at right around $32k. I can't see paying more than I did for my truck for this vehicle. My post wasn't to compare apples and oranges, it was just that you couldn't get me to pay $35k (or more) for even the most loaded of Altima Coupes.

Again, I got rid of the Altima because it didn't do what I needed. That is what
I valued. But, at the same time I was quite happy with the price I paid. The car certainly had that amount of value over all. I just needed something different. Sorry if I was vague with my post.
FWIW, if anyone is reading this and hasn't yet made a purchase, let me give you some help.
Check out Carmax. There is a dealer in MD (White Marsh) that is a fully licensed new dealer. They sell used cars, but they do act as a Nissan dealer no different from any of the other Nissan dealers you've been too. However, they are a huge company, so they can afford to sacrifice some of the pricing on their cars. It even looks like they knock some (if not all) of the dealer hold-back off of the pricing. Browse their inventory (
hopefully this link works for new 3.5 SR A/Cs). Find the vehicle you like and use that price for negotiating with your dealer. You should be able to get them down close to invoice. If not, walk and try another dealer.
That is the exact method I used on my truck, and it worked perfectly. They were trying to charge me roughly $3k more than the Carmax dealer would have (and let me reiterate that this particular Carmax dealer is an authorized Nissan dealer - full factory warranty, all incentives, etc). I told them I wouldn't pay it and would be planning a trip to MD to purchase my truck. They then came back at about $500 over the Carmax price which I accepted (as it would've cost probably more to book a flight and then pay for gas back in the truck).
FWIW, the most expensive Altima Coupe at that Carmax dealer is currently listed at $30,228. It isn't a manual trans, but is fully loaded. I see no reason why (armed with this information), anyone couldn't get their local dealer under $32k OTD on an identical vehicle. If you live in MD, you could also just purchase from Carmax.

I hope that was fully loaded....
I think that's Canadian dollars also. Keep in mind the conversion.
